Episode 2- The strange feeling

The prince sat on his chair, going through the reports that his intelligence agents had sent to him. As he inclined back in his chair, rubbing his eyes after a long look through an account about some spy hiding somewhere in Barrow Village, he detected a subtle change in the breeze. A chill ran down his spine, and he jolted upright. Turning his head slowly, he scanned his office, his ruby eyes sparkling in the dim light like some alpha predator.

Nothing. Other than him, there was nobody else in the spacious office. A few mahoghany shelves stood against a velvet wall, the paper within cluttered files yellowing and crumbling from age. The couch where he usually had his guests reside in was conspiciously empty. The prince shook his head. Why did he wonder for even a moment that someone would be sitting there?

"I need to sleep soon," he muttered to himself with a sigh. Creaking his neck, he then returned to reading the report. He probably should send a hit squad to flush out the spy soon...

"Ice Cold Prince. That's what they call you in my home village. I never took the pompous title they gave you seriously, but I see that it is true."

The prince stiffened for a moment, but he remained calm. Without turning his head, he sighed and shrugged flippantly.

"Let them call me whatever they want. I couldn't care less. All I ask in return is their compliance. Otherwise, all disobedience shall be punished, without exception."

He then picked up a pen to sign his orders. He would have to get this to General Smauff, to dispatch that hit squad. The old commander must be asleep by now. He would have his aide send the signed orders in the morning.

As he did so, he felt a hand on his shoulder. Without thinking, the prince brushed it off.

"Don't touch me," he snarled, a hint of venom in his frosty voice. Turning around, he spotted an indescript male standing behind him. "I'm not gay."

"Oh, but the readers insist that we carry out the usual BL routine...you know, for the fujoshis reading this." The male leaned in closer. The prince suppressed a shudder, consciously aware of how handsome the male was. Those fine, golden curls that draped over his temples. The blue, piercing eyes that seemed to drill all the way into his heart. Reaching out, the young man cupped the prince's chin. "Allow us to provide them some service."

"I told you not to touch me!" the prince growled, slapping the man's hand away. An electric tingle seemed to run through his skin, and his cheeks grew heated. What is the matter with me? he wondered. To respond so...strangely to another man...

"You can't deny the feelings welling up inside you, can you?" the man smirked. "You can be the seme. I'll be the uke. I promise to be gentle...but since you're taking on the seme role, that should be your line."

"What in the nine hells are you talking about?!" the prince snapped, his ire rising.

Crash!

Both men spun around to stare at the door. A maid had stumbled in, the tray that was formerly in her hand having spilled to the floor. Fragments of china lay in a gradually expanding pool of tea.

"I'm sorry, your highness...I meant to serve you some tea. I thought it might help you this late at night. I didn't think...you would be...entertaining a guest."

"Amelia, this is all a misunderstanding," the prince said, dread crawling up his spine. "This is no guest. He's an intruder."

"Ara? After that short, heated exchange, am I still an intruder to you?"

"H...heated exchange?!" The maid was blushing furiously now. She quickly turned away. "I apologize for disturbing you, your highness! I...I will take my leave now!"

"A...Amelia! Wait!!!" The prince cried out, but it was too late. The maid was already hurrying away in the corridor, whispering to herself excitedly.

"So that's the prince's secret! I need to inform the others of this! I'm sure Lily will turn this into a great story! Who knows, if we post it on Webnovel, we might even get a contract...!"

"UGH!" The prince howled as he clasped his head in despair. "THAT IS NOT MY SECRET, YOU IDIOTIC MAID!"
