I was lying on the couch, too tired to move a bone

We got married this morning

And now around 9pm, he still didn't return from whatever errand he was taking care of

Hot tears slid down my cheeks every time I remembered what he wanted to do to me

The clock on the wall reminded me of back home

We had the same exact one

My stepdad is a mafia boss who lost all his power and assets to another mafia empire

But he couldn't care less, because all he wanted was to live peacefully with mom, me and my siblings

That was until he got diagnosed by a very dangerous disease

One that has a limited medication in one specific place in the world

By convention, the medication is unbelievably expensive

So my mom, in an effort to save my stepdad, sold me without hesitation

She said it was a decision she and my stepdad took, but I know very well that she is the only one responsible for this

My stepdad loved me unconditionally, but she has always hated me

After all, I was a child she didn't want to have

My biological father is unknown
