Episode 5

Natalia stared at Sueli, unsure how to express herself, but inside, the beautiful young woman felt confused by the recent revelation.

"My dear, I didn't mean to hide anything from you... but I really thought it wasn't important to say that my son Bryan had a girlfriend, or rather, an ex-girlfriend, since she herself left my son because of his condition. That woman is worthless."

"Mrs. Navarro, I confess that this information has left me very confused. If I had known that he was dating this woman before the accident, I wouldn't have agreed to marry him."

Sueli is startled, turning her head to look at her.

"Natalia, dear, forgive me for hiding this." Sueli says slowly, lowering her head in displeasure.

Silence filled the room. After a brief moment that seemed like an eternity, Natalia gently placed her hand on her mother-in-law's shoulder, offering comfort immediately.

"It's okay, mother-in-law. What happened, happened. But I don't want you to hide anything from me, please."

Sueli hugs Natalia tightly, feeling grateful to have such a wonderful daughter-in-law.

ONE MONTH LATER...

Natalia:

A month has passed quickly, in my opinion. My life has changed a lot since I married Bryan and came to live in the Navarro mansion.

I'm already working at the family company, and it has been a challenge to work at one of the most well-known companies in the world, and the responsibility weighs heavily on my shoulders as the president's wife.

It was incredible how everything changed in such a short time after my arrival. Now I'm part of this influential family and play an important role as the wife of the president of one of the most internationally recognized companies. The work at the company is intense, I need to give my best every day to meet the expectations of employees and shareholders. The pressure on my shoulders is enormous, but I am determined to achieve both professional and personal success.

Over the past month, I have learned to deal with the challenges that arise in such a renowned company. Learning about the operations of Navarro Corporation and understanding how each department works has become essential to my success. Even so, there is still much to be discovered and explored in this business world.

I work in the morning, but before leaving home, I exhaustively fulfill my duty as a wife, taking care of my husband. My mother-in-law only comes to the company twice a week and doesn't spend much time. I confess that it has been challenging, but I am willing to work with determination and strength to grow professionally.

"Mrs. Navarro? There's a woman who wants to see you." I hear the message from my secretary, who politely knocked on my office door. "Do you have time available? Do you have a meeting at the moment?" I ask as I watch her enter.

"At the moment, you don't have any commitments. But at eleven o'clock, you will have a meeting with Mr. Ryan Cortez."

Curious about the unexpected visit of that unknown woman, I told my secretary that the unexpected visitor could come into my office.

Feeling a little nervous around the sophisticated furniture, she took a deep breath before starting to speak:

"Forgive me for the sudden interruption, Mrs. Navarro. I heard about your achievements at the company and your marriage to Bryan, and I thought maybe you could help me..." Her voice was full of hope and expectation as she awaited my response.

"Please, miss, sit down." I gently invited her to sit down. I soon realized that she knew my husband, simply because she called him by his first name without any embarrassment. She was a very beautiful woman, and she exuded nobility.

The woman sat elegantly in the chair in front of me, and from her tone of voice, I noticed that she was not from our country.

"Tell me, miss? What's your name?" I ask a little awkwardly. But in my mind, a voice was already hammering her name.

"Sara! Sara Vilar. I'm Bryan's girlfriend."

I feel my body tremble at the words of that woman. How can she come here and say to my face that she is my husband's girlfriend? What a deceitful and shameless woman.

"Miss Sara, I thought you wanted to talk to me about business. And regarding my husband... I want to make it very clear that you had your chance to become Bryan's wife, but you simply abandoned him, and now you think you have the right to come here and say that you are his girlfriend? Please, miss, spare yourself and spare us this ridiculous situation."

I say what I want and grab my bag to leave, but she simply grabs my arm, digging her long nails into my skin.

"Listen here!" She looked at me deeply upset. "I'm the one he loves, when Bryan wakes up, he will look for me."

"Get your paws off me. When he wakes up, we'll see what he thinks after discovering that you abandoned him and now want to have the right to be considered his girlfriend. Ridiculous."

I say the words loudly, suddenly, Gustavo arrives and stands between the two of us.

"Calm down, girls. Let's not fight."

Gustavo holds Sara's arm firmly and takes her out of my office.

I could see the look of dissatisfaction she made when she heard what I had said.

I leave the office almost eleven in the morning. I'm going to meet with a businessman who is thinking about undoing a multi-million dollar deal with our company. Gustavo and Sueli have already tried to convince him to stay with us, but they have not been successful in their conversations.

"Good morning, Mrs. Navarro." A waiter politely greeted me at the entrance to the luxurious restaurant. I was perplexed that he knew I was from the Navarro family.

He leads me to one of the tables, which were already full. But since my secretary had already booked a day before, I had no problems.

The unknown man was facing away, but I could see that he was wearing a branded black suit, and apparently his posture seemed familiar to me.

"Good morning, Mr. Cortez, Mrs. Navarro has arrived."

He stands up and turns in my direction.

My heart races quickly when my eyes meet the handsome man in front of me.

"Natalia? What are you doing here? No? Don't tell me that. ..."

He was paralyzed when he found me there.

"Ryan?" I say in a trembling voice, trying to hide my nervousness.

"Excuse me, I'll be leaving."

The waiter left embarrassed, leaving us alone.

I couldn't believe it... Ryan Cortez, my ex-boyfriend was right in front of me. He was the businessman that my mother-in-law and brother-in-law couldn't convince to continue the partnership with our company.
