Silent & Broken Sunflowers

Why is it, that whenever someone feels frustrated and broken, they drink? Can't they distract their minds by doing something else? Don't they know, that drinking is injurious to health? Of course they know.

A tall man with jet black hair and beautiful green eyes. As if, his one gaze was enough to make a girl fall head over heels for him. His facial features were just like a woman's dream. He had a tall and muscular build. He slammed the empty glass on the table, so hard and it could have broken. He left a deep breath, and in frustration he looked at the two men in front of him.

Donomie Luther (ML)

Like the fuck!

The two men shifted their gaze at him. One man, who was wearing a full suit as he just came from a business meeting, took a sip of his drink, and the other man, who looked much younger than the other two, just rested his chin on his palm and smiled.

Donomie Luther (ML)

Why does he need to choose my partner!? I am not a kid!

One man sighed as he checked the time on his expensive Rolex watch.

Seth Luther (ML's brother)

It's already midnight, Don.

Donomie poured himself another glass of alcohol and chugged it down. His throat burned as the liquor went down. He glared at Seth and said,

Donomie Luther (ML)

I don't care.

The younger looking man sighed as he twirled the glass of whiskey.

Orion Luther (ML's Brother)

I don't get it, why are you drinking over this matter. You can just say no to the marriage if you don't like the guy.

Donomie glared at Orion. He gripped the glass and said,

Donomie Luther (ML)

Shut up.

Maybe he doesn't want to admit it, but his younger brother does have a point. He groaned.

Donomie Luther (ML)

Fine. Let's see what happens!

Seth left a deep breath, as if in relief. He stood up and drank the little bit of liquor he had in his glass. He put his hands in his pockets and said,

Seth Luther (ML's brother)

Then, stand up. Amara might be waiting for me.

Donomie, left a breath. He stood up too, followed by him, Orion did too with a big smile. Orion shrugged and said,

Orion Luther (ML's Brother)

At least I got a drink.

The other two brothers ignored what he had said. Donomie and Seth went to pay the bills, while Orion just stood behind them, waiting. As some girls checked him out, he just winked at them, making the girls laugh. Again, he followed his brothers out of the club, the booming music faded down as they drove away from the club. Seth was the one who was driving. While Donomie was sitting beside Seth, Orion was in the back seat. Donomie looked at his older brother and said nervously with a hint of fear in it,

Donomie Luther (ML)

Father won't force me into this marriage, right?

Seth sighed again.

Seth Luther (ML's brother)

Of course he won't.

They drove for about half an hour, and stopped in front of a grand mansion, which looked like a castle. Maybe, it was a castle. It was as if, the time had stopped in that ten acres of land. The three brothers stepped out of the car, and walked inside. Seth immediately climbed up the stairs and went into his room, probably to check on his four-year-old daughter and wife. While, Orion also went to his room. Since the hall was empty, with only the maids, Donomie also ran up the stairs and walked in his room, closing the door with a thud behind him.

Maybe, he was just thinking that if he says no to the marriage, his father will force him to marry, as his father was indeed waiting for this day. And then again, he did get heartbroken by a girl in his high school, so maybe his father doesn't want that to repeat. Or maybe, his father trusts that boy's father.

Donomie sat on the bed. He sighed as he ran his fingers through his hair. Come on! His father's friend has two sons, so, he can choose. And if he doesn't either one of them, he can say no.

He saw two pictures on his bed. His mother had given him the pictures, but he didn't look at them. He just threw them on the bed. He took the pictures in his hands and took a look at the picture of the two brothers.

Both of them were good looking. But for some reason, he liked the boy whose picture was taken with the sunflowers.

His eyes are beautiful.

He whispered.
