A Big Name in India. Hamdan Qureshi came to India during the British rule. From a very young age, he opened a small gold and silver shop with his own efforts. Gradually his business grew.

He was privileged in many ways to be on good terms with the British authorities.

Gradually he entered the diamond business. Married a foreign girl who was a daughter of a big businessman of that time. Aliana Gomez is his wife's name.

Gradually he took his diamond business to an impeccable level.

He had two sons Wamin Qureshi and Rahid Qureshi. As they grew up, they also expanded their father's business. When the partition of the country came in 1948, the eldest son Wamin remained in India.

Younger son Rahid went to Pakistan with his share of property.

Wamin Qureshi got a share of the diamond business. He was given the title of Nawab for his extra skill in the diamond trade. As time went on, all his four sons grew up.
