Pact

Yanyan’s POV

The battlefield was silent. The head of the bandit boss lay at my feet, separated from his body as if the night itself had carried out justice. Relief washed over me — a relief so sharp it almost hurt. In the blink of an eye, the impending massacre of the village was prevented.

I began inspecting the bodies. A few of the bandits wore rings. Curiously, I tried injecting mana into one, but nothing happened. Then Celesty’s voice echoed in my mind:

"You must first break the blood bond of the ring from the previous user before it can be activated. And you're still a four-year-old—these rings won’t fit you yet. Hide them for now."

“Understood,” I said, storing them carefully in my Portal Box.

(For those wondering, Celesty is the Ancient Beast I befriended in the cave — the Fenrir who saved me.)

Two Days Before the Raid

“Senior… I—!”

“Shut your trap, kid!” Celesty’s voice was sharp, laced with her Fenrir pride.

“I… I just want to help!” I said, approaching cautiously. My hands hovered over her golden-white fur, and I whispered “Heal Drip”. Light flowed from me, mending the bruises and cuts on her body while restoring some of her depleted mana. But the effort left me heavy, and I collapsed as Celesty murmured words I couldn’t fully remember.

Moments later, I awoke in the cave. Beside me stood a girl — a human-form manifestation of Celesty — her presence radiating power that even the Rebirth Realm couldn’t rival. Golden-white robes draped over her, her black-gold hair flowing to her waist, and a floating Deity Scarf glimmered at her neck.

“What happened, senior?” I asked, cuffing my tiny hands.

“Kid, what’s your name again?”

“Yanyan… Senior.”

She shook her head. “Don’t call me senior. I am Celesty Fenrir, and we are now bound. In body and soul — should one of us fall, the other shares the fate.”

Shock coursed through me. “Bound? Why? I… I don’t want you to owe me anything!”

“I don’t,” she said firmly, placing a finger over my lips. “I healed you because it was necessary, not out of debt. But your life nearly ended because I used your mana to heal myself. The pact ensures survival — and now, you have access to my mana through the mark on your hand.”

I stared in awe. A golden mark glimmered on my small hand. Opening my Status GUI, I gasped:

Level: 750

Strength: 800

Magic: 900

Agility: 700

Title: Beastter

“What… what is this?!” I shouted.

Celesty tilted her head, noticing my shock. “Ah, so you can see it. You’re one of the few humans who can read the Message of God — the same one the King of Kings in the Upper Realm can perceive.”

I blinked. “Message of God… you mean my status?”

“Yes,” she said with a smirk. “And now, kid, you are my partner. That makes you worthy.”

She transformed into a small wolf — her Fenrir form — allowing me to climb onto her back.

“Thank you… Celesty,” I whispered, riding on her smooth fur.

“No need for thanks,” she said, her voice calm yet commanding. “Had it not been for you, my chest wound would have been fatal. Now rest — you’ve earned it.”

As I closed my eyes, the warmth of her presence and the surge of mana in my body lulled me into sleep. I knew the coming days would test me — the bandits were still out there, waiting to strike. But with Celesty Fenrir at my side, and the power of the ancient cultivation arts combined with my system abilities, I felt… ready.

The fated day was approaching. And I would be ready to rewrite destiny.
