Chapter 4: The girl I adore

I was one of those ordinary boys, who never took part in anything, and was one with the crowd, never asked for attention, nor did attention want me. I was, you can say, very plain, and always put my head in my book, since I never used to speak a lot.

“Who is that? She looks gorgeous,”

“Yeah, she is pretty and all, but…she is a devil in disguise, a witch, Regina Arison,”

“Woah, she looks like a hot topic,”

“Oh, she is more than just that, everyone knows her for her strict following of rules, her wealth, but most of all her spoiled attitude,”

Well at least she is living her life, I always wished to become more like her and all the other guys like Albert, super popular and nice to everyone, but I know I would never fit in the popular team. I like my life now, but I do wish I was a little bolder like Regina to stand up even though many people hate her.

She was definitely beautiful, smart, and perfect. Anyone could go on and on about her beauty and her flawless skills in almost everything she does, it’s like even garbage would also become art if she touches it.

“Oh, Albert! Are you going to history class now? Let me join you,” Regina called out.

“Alright, do whatever you want,” said Albert, looking uninterested.

Albert, the school's hot jock and student captain, was everything a girl wished for in a guy, with his looks and his skills. That was why every girl in the school tried to get close to him, that even included Regina. She was madly in love with him, and she tries to cover it sometimes, but at the end of the day, you can’t help but notice how she acts around him. She sometimes goes stiff or becomes clumsy around him, and I know Albert knows about it too.

Because of that, he tries to keep a distance from her, but she doesn’t seem to see that he is drawing a line, and she just keeps pushing his boundaries. I know it is annoying, but it’s annoying that she doesn’t seem to get his hints. He needs to be straight with her and not cause more misunderstandings with them. I was so deep in thought that I wasn’t looking forward.

"Ouch!"

I looked forward to seeing Regina Arison.

“I’m sorry, are you alright? I didn’t see you there,” I said.

“Ugh! I’m alright, fortunately! What if you bumped into Albert? You better be careful, nerd,” she shouted, clearly annoyed.

"I'm sorry, I really am," I said and bent down to pick up my books, just then Albert bent down and helped me picked up my books.

“I think that was too much, he didn’t mean to, it was not like he did anything on purpose,” said Albert.

I wanted to say something, but too confused about what to say, I definitely didn’t mean to bump into her, but she just tried to correct me, and she is more concerned about me than herself, she is more worried if I will bump into Albert more than herself. Talk about overly loving him.

“Umm… I will be leaving then, thank you,”

I had to make my quick excuse and leave. I didn’t want to be involved in their life and cause extra drama, these two would cause trouble if I got involved with them.

After their history class, there was this new girl, a bunny-like girl. I don’t know who she was, but she had a very innocent feel, like she had to be protected. She was the opposite of Regina. Regina had a strong and bold look, and you would know she was the type who would not tolerate any kind of imperfection, but this new girl looked clumsy and kind.

Time went by, and I saw the new girl and Regina hanging out together, they stuck to each other, though it was the new girl who stuck to her, it didn’t seem like Regina minded her clingy nature, rather it felt like she liked her company, but Albert didn’t like the fact that new girl was hanging out with Regina.

Well, it’s not like it bothers me or anything, let’s see what we have in the next class, it’s P.E., ugh, let’s skip it. I hated P.E. it was so boring, and I didn’t like the sports we had to do; I would rather revise on the physics topics we covered.

I snuck out of the P.E. room and went to class to pick up my textbooks and notes. With great caution, I ran through the hallways and snuck up to the terrace. Finally, a place of peace.

“Oh sorry, I didn’t know someone was here,”

Darn, even my favorite place is taken by people, this day can’t get any worse.

Just when I looked up, I saw an angel? Wait, Regina?

Her eyes were filled with tears, which looked like crystals, and her hair waved down to her shoulder, she was divine under the cloudy sky. Truly an angel who fell from heaven.

“Am I that ugly? Am I that evil that everyone hates me?” she said, as she tried to hold back her tears.

Ugly? How can you be ugly when you are this divine? You, just breathing took my breath away.

“It’s fine, I know I’m worthless, but let me stay here as a ghost, I won’t dis—” Without thinking I cut her off and said, “You are the most beautiful girl I have ever laid eyes upon, there is nothing that you lack, everything about is perfect, the way you walk, the way you talk, everything about is beautiful, it’s in your eyes and your smile,”

I completely went on autopilot. What am I even saying to the school’s queen? She already knows she is perfect yet here I am, I bet she must be annoyed.

Just then when I looked at her, he faced was beet red, and she was blushing so hard, that even her ears turned red. God, she is so cute, I wish I had her. ‘Had her?’ what am I even talking about, I thought I would never want to be involved with her, but here I am, wanting her so badly.

I then realized I wanted her from the start, I noticed all the little actions she did, how she walked, how she spoke, and everything. I adored her from the start.

My face turned red out of embarrassment, I don’t know what to say anymore, I went too far, and now there is no turning back. I told too much to her.

“I never got your name nerdy boy,” she said chuckling.

“I’m Nicolas,”

“Well nice to meet you, Nicolas, I’m Regina. I suppose this is your spot?”

“Um… Not many people come here so it’s peaceful, but I don’t mind sharing it,” I said.

Idiot! What am I even telling her? I need to just shut up and think straight! Why am I talking like I’m some kind of player, who wants her?

“Thank you, Nicolas, well I guess we have the next class soon so I will meet you around, okay?”

“Yeah, sure I guess we have psychology next, and I’m in the same class as you, why don’t we go together?” I spoke.

“Wait, we are in the same class?”

Of course, she didn’t notice, I was a ghost in class anyway.

“Haha, it’s fine, I don’t speak much anyway, but now that I know you, why not go together?”

Wait, is this like asking her out? Of course, she wouldn’t want to come with a clumsy, and nerdy person like me, she would hate it.
