The once united group of ministers was now sharply divided.
King Vincent sat at the head of the long table, his face a mask of calm.
He'd called the meeting to address the growing opposition to his upcoming marriage to Princess Aria.
Lord Eldrin, a loyal supporter of the crown, spoke first.
Lord Eldrin
“Your Majesty, while Princess Aria is a noble woman, her leadership qualities have yet to be tested in the complex political landscape of Herni. Cotein, while under her rule, is a different realm with different challenges.”
Lord Kaelan, a younger and more progressive minister, disagreed.
Lord Kaelan
“With all due respect, Lord Eldrin, Princess Aria has demonstrated exceptional leadership in Cotein before the war. Her ability to unite a divided people is a testament to her skills.”
The room erupted in heated debate. Vincent listened patiently, his mind racing.
He knew the war's scars ran deep, but he also knew Aria's potential.
Finally, he silenced the room.
Vincent Brown
“I understand your concerns”
He said firmly.
Vincent Brown
“Princess Aria has proven her capabilities in Cotein. I believe her leadership qualities will be an asset to Herni.”
A heavy silence fell over the room. Vincent had made his decision.
The marriage would go ahead.
But the battle was far from over. As the ministers left, whispers of discontent filled the halls.
Turning to his trusted advisor, Lord Alistair, Vincent sighed.
