Haunted Forever
" It was a familiar cry"
Corvina staggered upon hearing the voice she was not highly anticipating from the basement of the three - storeyed building.
She contemplated if she should follow the voice or just get out of the eerie haunted house.
Her curiosity and glimpse of hope got her, and she started walking towards the voice.
As she got closer, she heard heavy footsteps getting louder. It was a strange tall figure dressed in black who looked like he was in his late 30's and too dangerous which matched the vibe and atmosphere of the building.
She sneakily followed him to a dark creepy room where she saw something unexpected.
The man had gone through another door, but the disturbing sight she just saw stopped her from following him.
Never did she ever think that she would see such a pitiful and hideous sight. She couldn't bring herself to open her eyes wide and look at the sight!
She wanted to run out of there as fast as she could, but she had to accept the fact that she was in a risky situation and is hiding behind the suspicious old carton boxes rearranged in the corner of the room.
For a second there she thought she was dreaming, but it was the truth, several malnourished skeleton young adults and teen girls were tied up, and they were all blindfolded.
Her eyes laid on a 16 -year-old girl who was laying on the floor, she took a closer look and saw that her blindfold was soaked in blood.
Corvina couldn't move and even breathing felt hard to her, she just wanted to get out of there and save the girls.
But what if she gets caught? What if no one believes her or no one cares about it? She had no time to waste on the corrupted people and government.
She proceeded to go ask the girls what was happening, and then she thought to herself "there is no way the scared girls would tell anything, or even if she tried to approach them, they would be startled."
She gathered all her courage and helped the girl laying on the floor to sit up.
She reassured the girl "Shush, I'm here to help you. Don't be scared.
Corvina's heart ached at the sight of the pain the pitiful young girl who couldn't see anything anymore was going through.
More than anything Corvina had great hopes of finding her sister there. The thought of her sweet elder sister going through these or worse was unacceptable to Corvina.
As soon as she heard the doors clicking again, she went back to the cartons and hid there. Seeing they were gone, she went deeper into the basement in search of her sister Camila.
As she went through the dark hallways she reminisced about the past with her sister. All the sweet and sour memories with her family suddenly came pouring onto her mind.
Corvina couldn't help but shed a few tears with mixed feelings. She was so frustrated when her sister suddenly went missing, and somehow her family blamed her for it.
Corvina couldn't take the pain of being apart from her sister who was the only friend in her family and also the backlash from her so-called family.
As she couldn't take it any longer and saw the missing case being slowly forgotten by the cops, she decided to go find her sister herself.
Every moment of her life after that incident, she had a guilty conscience about how, she should have gone missing instead of her sister.
Why would the sweet eldest sister whom everyone liked had to suffer instead of the youngest black sheep of the family? Is what she thought and the people had the nerves to say that.
