I stood there. I couldn't take my eyes off his. They were so beautiful. His eyes were grey almost white. I felt my dad give me a push and I snapped out of it. I walked over to the table and sat next to my mom. I felt anxious. I could feel them staring at me. I kept my head down. My dad sat next to me and started speaking. "It's nice to meet you, Mr. and Mrs. Blackthorne." The kings' eyes were blue and the Queens' were green. The queen had red hair and the king had black. They were stunning, they had no flaws they looked perfect. They looked me up and down. It made me feel self-conscious. My parents started talking about the wedding.
"I suggest they get married at our palace, we have the perfect place to hold the wedding" I heard Mr. Blackthorne say. They started discussing how they wanted to arrange the wedding. I didn't listen much. Until I heard them mention the date. "We can have the wedding by next week," My mother said. I looked at her. Next week, that's too soon. "Excuse me, I got something to do," I got up and rushed out of the room. My breathing was heavy, and my heart was pounding. They wanted me to get married in a week. That's too soon.
I walked into the kitchen and grabbed a cup. I poured myself some water. I had to calm down. I had to think about this. If I don't marry him our kingdom won't survive for long. I turned around and leaned against the table. I took a drink of the water and closed my eyes, trying to calm my breathing. I heard the door to the kitchen open. I expected it to be Ashley or Madeline. I opened my eyes and was met with the Prince's grey eyes. I gasped and I felt the cup slip from my grasp. I flinched when the cup shattered on the floor. "Shit," I whispered. I kneeled down and started picking up the pieces. "Why are you in here?" I asked. "I came to see what my future wife was up to," he said while walking up to me. "So what do you think of this arranged marriage?" I don't know why I asked but I did.
"Honestly I'd rather marry a vampire than some human." He said the word human with disgust in his voice. "It's not like I wanted to marry you either," I said in a whisper, mainly talking to myself.
"What did you say?" He asked
"Nothing," I looked back down and continued to pick up the glass. I felt him grab my arm and pull me up. He squeezed my hand around the glass and pushed me against the wall. His strength was overpowering. I winced as the glass dug into my skin making me bleed. "What did you say?" He asked. I stayed silent. I don't see why he's getting mad. He doesn't want to marry me either. "You're lucky I'm even marrying you, girls would die for a chance to be with me." He whispered into my ear.
"Let go of me!" I struggled to get away from him. He gave me a smirk, then finally let go. I looked at my hand. Pieces of glass were deeply embedded in my hand. Blood was flowing from my wounds. I looked up at him and gasped when I saw his eyes turning red. I quickly ran out of the kitchen and into the bathroom and locked the door. I started pulling the glass out of my hand. I winced when I pulled out the biggest shard of glass. I washed the blood off my hand and bandaged it. Little dots of blood seeped through the bandage. My heart was still pounding. What is wrong with him? Why were his eyes turning red? I walked out of the bathroom and saw him standing outside the door. His eyes were back to grey. "Don't say anything, or I swear you'll regret it." He walked away and headed back to the dining room.
I waited a while then finally went back to the dining room. They all had plates in front of them while the maids served them food. Did vampires eat food? "Nice to see your back, Raven," Mr.Blackthorne said as I sat down. "Yes, I'm sorry for taking too long." The chef served us food. "So Raven, we decided to have the wedding next week." Mrs. Blackthorne said. I looked up and nodded. I wanted to object but my father would be very angry with me if I made a fool out of him. "Yes, sweetie, we will be having it at their palace. We'll take care of all the decorations, the dress, and we'll be sending out letters to all our friends."My mother gave me a smile. When she said friends she meant all the other noble and rich people.
I started eating my food. "What happened to your hand?" My dad grabbed my hand and looked at me. I looked at the Prince and seen him glaring at me. I looked back at my dad and made up a lie. "Oh, it's nothing I just accidentally dropped a cup and the glass cut my hand. He shook his head, letting go of my hand, "You should be more careful," I nodded and continued eating while they talked. I found out the queens' name was Selene, and the kings' name was Adrian, and the Princes' name was Andrew. Soon after that, we showed them out and they went back to their palace. "So, what did you think of Andrew?" My mother asked. I wanted to tell her what happened, and that I didn't want to marry him at all. But I knew better than to do that. Andrew made it clear that I shouldn't tell them. "I- I think he was great, I liked him a lot," I forced a smile and she seemed to believe me. "That's great sweetie. I told you it wouldn't be bad. Now go get some rest," With that, I headed off to my room and laid on my bed. I took the bandage off my hand and saw the small cuts covering my palm. I let out a sigh, what should I do?
