It was in the middle of the night...

The night was dark...

A night without stars

A night without moon

in the middle of the dark forest

she was running

The sounds of branches breaking from beneath her were audible...

Her panting echoed throughout the forest...

the unknown voice

Crying sounds of several children

That made her pause...

They were two voices, probably two children's...

It was confusing to her, as if it touched her heart...

Why are they crying?

She asked herself that question.

That made her eyes well up with tears...

She wiped away the tears with her left hand...

There was no time to wonder...

The movement that was chasing her started to approach...

So she started running again, faster...

Until she found a hole to hide in...

She tried so hard to hide herself, to calm herself down, that she started asking herself that question.
