She shakes her head, a hint pain of her voice
Mia
Not really... I'm still feeling nauseous and weak. But I appreciate you coming over to keep me company.
Frown and concerned about her
Xander Whitlock
that sucks, I'm sorry. I'll stay here as long as you need me, alright? You don't have to go through this alone.
The memory of his earlier conversation with his girlfriend comes back to him, causing a shadow to pass over his face.
Mia
What happened? Did you got a fight with your girlfriend?
Xander Whitlock
Yeah, something like that
Xander Whitlock
She got all pissy and accused me of neglecting her because I'm here taking care of you.
Mia raises an eyebrow, a small frown on her face.
Mia
I mean, it's understandable that she'd be upset, right? You've been with me a lot lately. Not that I don't appreciate your company. But she is your girlfriend after all.
Sighs and runs a hand through my hair.
Xander Whitlock
I know, I know. But she just doesn't get it. I'm not neglecting her, I'm just trying to help you out. You need me right now, and she should understand that.
Mia looks at him quietly for a moment before speaking.
Mia
But doesn't she need you too? I mean, you're her boyfriend. She probably misses you and wants to spend time with you just as much as I need your company right now.
Xander Whitlock
I know, but it's not like I can be in two places at once. And right now, you're sick and I'm here to take care of you. It's not like I don't care about her, but she's being unreasonable
Mia
*sigh* Go home for now, and solve your problem first.
Xander Whitlock
Are you sure? I don't want to leave you alone when you're still feeling unwell.
Meanwhile, at the girlfriend's home, she's drowning her sorrows in alcohol, getting more and more intoxicated.
Mia
I'll be fine, really. You should go home and talk to your girlfriend. She probably needs you more than I do right now.
Back at the girlfriend's place, she's sprawled on the couch, a half-empty bottle of alcohol next to her.
Caden
Are you sure you'll be alright? You seem pretty drunk right now.
Adelaine Caddel
*Adelaine nods, tears welling up in her eyes* Yeah, I'm fine.
Caden
Alright, fine. But don't drink too much. Promise me that you'll call me if you need anything.
Adelaine Caddel
Yes, byee *drunk tone*
Caden nods, still concerned about me.
Caden
Okay, take care. Try to get some rest, alright? I'll check in on you tomorrow.
Adelaine is now left alone in the apartment, the stillness and emptiness only emphasizing the loneliness she is feeling. She takes another swig of the bottle, attempting to numb the pain and heartache with alcohol.
Xander got home at 5:30 pm
Xander quietly opens the door and steps into the apartment, expecting to find his girlfriend sleeping or at least calm down.
But instead, he is met with the sight of her sitting on the couch, a nearly empty bottle of alcohol in her hand, clearly drunk and upset.
