Hello, California

[Andrew P.O.V.]

With the landing of the plane, a sigh of relief escaped my lips. My shoulders relaxed naturally and I felt like I could laugh, cry, sleep and run with joy at the same time. One reason you know already and another one is that well I am not very fond of Airplanes.

I stood up and grabbed my luggage as I joined the line moving towards the gate. While the hostess was smiling at every person walking by her gaze turn into a glare upon me. I gave her a sheepish look at that and when crossing her I mumbled a small sorry to her. But the people pushing me from the back to move forward didn't allow me the chance to talk to her.

As soon as I exited the plane and the moment when my feets touched the hard floor a warm and yet a soft breeze caressed my face. A smile formed on my lips on the cherished feel of it.

Walking further in the port my eyes searched for the person coming to receive me. I didn't see anyone for a minute when my eyes fell on a lowly rising board with my name written on it. I shifted my head right and left to get a proper vision of the person when he himself came in the front pushing other people aside with a big smile forming on his face on seeing me.

A huge smile formed on my lips as I walked to him with long steps "Grandpa." I yelled with amusement. Some people around me gave amused looks but I ignored them. Almost running to him I hugged him with both hands as tightly as I could.

Almost sounding like Santa clauss laugh he embraced me back with equal warmth.

Detaching myself from him his eyes were twinkling with merriness

"How are you doing Andrew.? It's after such a long time to see you."

"I am as good as I can be Grandpa. And I missed you all so much."

"We too missed you bud."

"But now I am here so no missing anymore."

"Good, Now let's get going, your Uncle has taken his day off and your aunt is cooking your favourite food." A twinkle sparked in my eyes on hearing the cooking of my favourite dish. It's been a while since I've smelled or tasted it. Almost as long as my parent's death.

My grandpa gestured for me to move. I nodded and picked up my luggage and backpack as Grandpa carried another bag.

Coming out of the airport I was hit with warm striking rays of sunlight. Back at the pack being a mountainous area, there's always clouds around and less sunlight and even when its sunny being around the forest the area remains almost chilly cold.

Sun seems good to me especially when I am such pale and here in California, almost every second person is sun-rich tanned. Walking to the parking lot I saw my uncle sitting in the driving seat humming and shaking his head on the beat of the music.

We both laughed at his ways. Reaching the car grandpa knocked on the window almost ten times before it caught his attention. Turning his head to us he gave a surprised expression which soon turned into a sheepish one on seeing my grandpa's serious stern face. He unlocked the car as I yelled shotgun and went for the front seat.

Uncle got out and helped grandpa in setting up the luggage in the trunk. After the task is done both of them returned to their seat grandpa in back and uncle in driver's seat.

"John, please don't drive the way we came here. I know your happy by Andrew's arrival and think of me nothing but a worthless waste of space but still, your beloved is with us now so try to drive as a normal human does." Grandpa said to uncle John as he gave that same guilty sheepish look to him and nodded before giving me a smile.

I and Uncle always hit right away. Being unmarried my uncle John and aunt Alex both have that childlike careless behaviour in them. Which often results in Grandpa in trouble and sometimes almost with a heart attack.

As we drove through I captured every scene in my eyes offered by the city of Dreams. People, happiness, light and dreams and yeah food too.

"So, how was your life in these past years, Andrew? Anything Interesting?" Uncle said taking small glances at me. After my mom and dad's funeral, I only contacted them through phone, I never got the time to visit here too much focused on my life and the pack.

I smiled at him. "Nothing much just here there these small attacks."

"Attacks?" Grandpa asked curiously. We don't talk much about the pack or our werewolf topic but it is discussed sometimes.

"Yeah, some tiny rogue attacks and enemy pack attacks." even though our pack is small and try to live with mutual understanding and friendship with others but there are some people or packs who didn't like our growing area of relations.

"Were they serious, did you find the reason behind them?" He asked again.

"No, they were just random." I didn't want to talk about it and was seriously hoping for the topic to change.

Thankfully Uncle did it.

But it was not I wanted.

"Andrew then how you missed us. There must be some reason for you to come here suddenly. I mean it was so fast of you to plan this trip." I sighed lowly. Here it comes. I was thinking all the way of this if I wanted to tell them about the reason or not. I guess I should. We are family and since I am going to live here for a very long time then I should have a solid reason for doing so.

"Yes, there is a reason," I admitted. And this caught both of their attention.

"Ok go on." Uncle encouraged me.

"My mate rejected me. And to save myself and my wolf from the pain I broke the mating bond.

But the real reason behind is that I wanted to be free. I was fed up from that life. I wanted to start over. To begin new and fresh." I gave both of them a hopeful look.

Both of them hummed and Grandpa was the first to speak "O.k. you did the right thing son. And we all support your decision."

"Of course dad, I am happy that you trusted us enough and chose us to be the part of your new life, Andrew. This topic will now never be discussed. It was past and now it will be left in the past." Uncle said agreeing with Grandpa.

My mind was dancing with happiness and so was Gracia to feel such warmth again from the family.

But a sudden thought randomly entered my mind "Past always bites back."

but then I thought not this time.
