Episode 5

My fourteenth birthday had finally arrived, which means that the bonding could happen today, I would finally know if I would be a beta or omega and have my wolf.

The day was calm, my parents sang happy birthday to me when I woke up, there was a special breakfast and gifts, however, even though I kept a smile on my face, inside I felt absolutely none of what I conveyed, instead, I felt exhausted and sad, the thoughts of what my life has been in recent months torment me all the time, causing terrible mental and emotional exhaustion.

That same night there would be a full moon, so I had to appear before our alpha and the elders of the council, so they could guide me.

I knew that Alicia had the bonding almost two months ago, she turned out to be an alpha, that only made the others love her much more.

I only wished with all my being to wake up as a beta, otherwise, I would fall to the lowest of our hierarchy and then, that will only increase my problems.

Now we were in front of Alpha Henry and the elders, they were discussing some things while my mom stayed by my side.

"Moon Goddess, please, don't let my life become even more miserable than it already is, please, let me be a beta."

I begged before starting the ritual.

Soon after, a feeling of desperation took over my entire body, in addition to an incessant itching all over my body, I really wanted to run out of that place.

Everyone was watching me, my mother hugged to my father, I could barely read a "you can" from her lips, before beginning to perceive different sounds, I could hear the water flowing in the river that was in the forest, the animals that hunted, those who settled down to rest and also, a voice, it was a woman's, everything was so strange.

I could feel how my skin and bones tensed while the muscles grew rapidly, I began to feel tight, or rather suffocated by my own body.

Finally, after about five minutes that seemed like an eternity, I could feel a spark of electricity that gave me tranquility and warmth throughout my body, I fell to the floor supporting myself on my hands, maybe that would reduce the pain, I began to feel dizzy, as if my consciousness was abandoning my body, when I returned my gaze to my hands, what I found were paws, wolf paws covered by a white fur.

And that was enough to finally run as fast as I could from that place, and thus enter the forest.

My senses felt a thousand times more sensitive than usual, I could hear the sounds of the forest with total clarity, the earth between my paws, the air that collided against my face as I ran, it was all so... peaceful. I stopped right on the bank of the river that I had heard before and drank some water. I had never felt so at peace as at that moment.

Until I heard a branch crack behind me, I immediately went on alert, who knows, maybe it could be a rogue or someone from the pack, I couldn't be sure, but when I turned around I saw a really imposing young wolf, it had fur as black as night and amber eyes that stared at me, neither looked away.

After that the memories become confusing, but short moments in which I seemed to run and play with that wolf were seen in my head that morning after waking up, I had returned with the alpha and the elders. I have the impression that it was thanks to the help of that stranger.

"OMEGA YOU SAY?" I got too excited after that, so I ran to my room.

"Damn goddess, do you really hate me so much as to believe that I deserve this?"

That day I locked myself in my room, I didn't want to talk or see anyone, because I had been crying for some hours and during others I was only tormented thinking about how much worse my life would be from now on.

The next day I got up with my spirits on the ground, before leaving I apologized to my parents, I did it like that so as not to give further explanations.

Upon arriving at the institute it was more than obvious that everyone would notice the change in my smell and what it indicated.

"So a dirty and inferior omega huh" Alicia approached "I really think I'm starting to feel a little sorry for you, you know? You really must have done something very serious in your previous life" she smiled mockingly "or maybe you're just paying for everything you've done in this" she walked away laughing.

As expected, after that the taunts increased, the unfounded accusations became bigger, it was all a disaster.

"At least, the school year was about to end, I just have to endure them for one more week."
