Episode 2 Cole

EXT. BARREN FIELD -NIGHT

COLE screams out to the sky, Hazel in his arms. She bled out holding her intestines so they didn’t spill. Blood raining down on them both.

HAZEL

Please, don’t kill anyone on this land.

COLE

(looks down) But-

HAZEL

No. one. Okay. (coughs)

Her hand slips but he presses it together.

HAZEL

(smiles)If only they could’ve given you a chance to see this side of you.

COLE

This isn’t the time for regrets.

HAZEL

Nothing about you makes me feel regret. (Cole tears of blood drip down her cheek) It’s more like. I, (coughs) am grateful. That I could live long enough to ever have met you.(she reaches out for him)

COLE

Haz, (he presses her hand to his cheek)I know I never got to tell you but(her smile fades) I- (his ear twitch)

Her hand goes limp and does the rest of her.

COLE

Damnit,(holds her tighter) you couldn’t let me finish.

INT. HOTEL - NIGHT

Cole presses the head of his scythe to Loki’s neck.

COLE

Who the hell are you?

LOKI

The name my lady gave me is Loki of the mischievous Bite.

COLE

Loki, the brown snake. I thought you were left in eden.

LOKI

I’d appreciate it if you’d stop pointing that scythe at me.

COLE

Oh, yeah-- (nervously) Right I’ll just move this. (moves) (Loki trips him) What the hell Loki?!

LOKI

What if I was me?!

COLE

Then I would've killed you!

LOKI

Make sure of that. If anything were to happen to her under the watch of a useless human like yourself, I’ll personally make sure to eat your soul.

COLE

Well jokes on you, I don’t have one of those. (smiles nervously)

ROSE’S body jolts and seises.

LOKI

My lady.

COLE

Is she having a seizure?! Holy crap! Somebody call angel medic.

Lucifer and Katter climb out of ROSE’s chest. For a moment Rose’s body doesn’t move. Katter quickly heals over Lucifer’s head.

LOKI

Katter, who is that?

Lucifer becomes stable and continues to sleep soundly.

KATTER

How do you not remember-- (to COLE) Who the hell are you?

COLE

I was gonna ask you the same thing. And why your shooting out of the chest of the snake charmer.

KATTER

I’m--

ROSE

Katter. (sit up) Is he okay?

LOKI & KATTER

(kneels to her)  My lady.

KATTER

He’s sedated.

ROSE

(content) That’s great.

COLE

Hey, can you tell me what’s going on here?

ROSE

You, (notices) Where am I?

Time goes by...

COLE

So I just really want to know, what are you?

Rose and the boys look at one another and then away.

ROSE

… I plead the 5th.

COLE

Nugh ugh, that only for Americans and mutes.

ROSE

I’m not going to answer it, because I don't have to. (stands)

She slowly turns to the window.

KATTER

My lady, you have to eat soon.

COLE(V.O.)

Demons eat souls. Angels eat pure light bullets. Spirits technically don’t eat but are food. Confusing, I know. I guess if I stay a little while longer I’ll find out what this woman really is.

KATTER watches him in thought.

KATTER

Wait, you can’t come.

ROSE

Yeah Katter right, i really don’t feel comfortable eating in front of you.

COLE

What but I’m harmless.

LOKI

No human is harmless, that the reason why places like the nine circles exist.

KATTER

You incriminate yourself by bringing a young girl that you met earlier today straight to your hotel room.

COLE

Because she fainted in my arms!

LOKI

So you admit that you in fact touched my lady?

ROSE

(holding Loki’s arm) Perv.

COLE

No i- ugh. Just brought you up because I was worried.

KATTER

Case and point you aren’t trust worthy to be near our lady. Please move on with your life and find another young girl to take advantage of.

COLE

Ugh, that’s not what I meant! (eyes become black like a demon) (he spots himself in the reflection) Uh.(looks off) (Loki eyes sharpen)

LOKI

So,(grabs COLE’S neck) you’ve been keeping this little demon under confinement when I bit you.(Cole struggles to breathe) You asked my lady what she was when we don’t know who you are.

ROSE

Loki! Enough.

LOKI slowly drops Cole to the floor.

ROSE

Just like me the prisoner doesn’t owe me an explanation. Especially if he’s a half demon.

COLE

What does that mean?

ROSE

If I tell you what I am. Can you promise me you won’t freak out?

INT. Hotel- Night

COLE mouth open shocked.

COLE

The first princess of hell?!

Loki hushes Cole

ROSE

No, others know me as a summoner that has some ties to the natural divide.

COLE

The natural divide.

INT. VILLAGE - DAY

HAZEL holds a smile on her face. A large statue of SeRi and Heriz stand tall in the wishing fountain. A dic dividing them from each other.

HAZEL

And that’s the madam of  SeRi and her husband Heriz of the sinners.

COLE

Who’s the girl leaning on that, (looks) ugh what is that thing.

HAZEL

That is called the natural divide the vail that divides the living to the dead.

He keeps his eyes on the statute of the girl.

HAZEL

Oh, the girl leaning on it is the two gods daughter.(Looks to see the bread man closing up) Henry we have to be on our way now! He's going to leave.

COLE

Right.(she pulls his sleeves)

INT. HOTEL ROOM- NIGHT

KATTER

Sorry to cut this short but we really need to be on our way.

ROSE

Idiot. (walks to the open window) Garedan, come to me.

She turns from the window. Causing the wind to put up. Her back rips open while Garedan's long body shoots out the window.

COLE

Hey, wait a minute.

GAREDAN

Yes my lady.

ROSE

Take me to the third circle of Gluttony.

Garedan stretches his jaw open.

ROSE

(salutes)Fare thee well, prisoner.(steps out) This is where our story of meeting comes to a close. Odie, I guess.

COLE

(grabs onto her arm)Just stop for a second! (she turns) I, well.

KATTER

(kicks him off her) (holding his lady in his arm princess style) Keep your grubby hands away from my lady and mistress. Or suffer--

ROSE

(pushes his chest away from her shoulders) Let me down Katter! (he lets go) He’s not as strong as you are. You can’t just push humans on their *** like that! Pick him up and go through.

KATTER

My apologies Lady Rose. (he pick up Lucifer goes in)

LOKI

Rush it half breed, the portal to hell is visible on both sides.

COLE

I’ve been looking for a goddess that rules over the natural divide. Have you heard of her?

ROSE

(silent)

LOKI

A god, ruling over nature.(laughs) Impossible.

COLE

She’s known for accidently separating her parents one went to heaven and the other to hell. I’m guessing if such a deity has ever existed like that she could give life to the dead.

LOKI

A god that can control a whole dimension is hard to believe. Let alone bringing back the dead. What’s the goddess name?

COLE

I can’t remember.

LOKI

How in the hell did you expect us to help if you can’t give a name at least.

COLE

I don’t know!

ROSE

(whispers)She’s too evil to be remembered.(clinches)

COLE

Evil?

She steps inside.

ROSE

Let’s go.

COLE

Hey wait you didn’t answer my question!

ROSE

I know nothing about a goddess that can make dimensions. Or bring back the dead for the natural divide. Let alone doing both.

COLE

So are you saying that purgatory isn’t real?!

ROSE

Quite the opposite. Purgatory is limbo as in the first circle. I don’t know who made it. But I do know that it’s the veil between life and death. (walks through)

LOKI

I liked you. But like every human. (pushes) You ask for way too many things.

ROSE

Loki!

LOKI

(runs in) Coming lady Rosetta.

The portal closes the hotel room and is left empty.

EXT. 3RD Circle Gluttony- NIGHT

Ice cycles rain down from the night sky. The ground is molting like an active volcano. The smell of rotting bodies filled streets to a boil and a melt.

KATTER

The smell here is delicious.

LOKI

I thought I was the only one for a second. (grabs each other's arms) I’m so glad we’re of the same flesh.

ROSE’S kindred spirits form; her eyes, one black with a white pupil the other white. black freckles kissed on her brown skin. Her hair in two pony puffs.

ROSE

Contain your hunger for a little while longer.

KATTER

Yes my lady.

LOKI

Right.

ROSE (V.O.)

Cerberus. (nervously)

LOKI

(looks behind to see she hasn’t moved an inch forward) My lady.

ROSE walks over to a pillar. Vomits violently.

ROSE(V.O.)

The eight circle keepers,(wipes her mouth) are the strongest demons of hell created with a tenth of satan’s power.(shaking like a leaf) I’d be insane for thinking of battling one of them.(she held onto her chest) Especially in the condition I'm in now. I can’t even put fear in someone let alone fight. That’s why, (looks to Lucifer still on Katter’s back) I need you to wake up soon.

Bonnie(O.S.)

It’s okay to be scared, Mistress.

ROSE(O.V)

Bonnie.

SPIRIT(O.S.)

Yeah, just don’t forget that you have us at your disposal Lady Rosetta.

ROSE

Thank you. But. (slaps her cheeks) Hopefully it will never come to that.(perks up) Right, (claps) times up!

Her weapon of choice; A buster sword double sword.

ROSE

Let’s go see Cerberus, the three headed demon dog. And if his fat *** has any problem with me taking some food. (swipes the sword over her arm) I’ll take his life and his place for myself.(laughs loudly)(continues down the road with the two following her loosely)

KATTER(V.O)

Or. You could lean on us for once.

COLE peeks out from a bolder.

INT. Cerberus’ Palace- LATER

CERBERUS a three headed dog man who is bigger than a two story house; devours the food that the servants rush on the table.

CERB

More. MORE! I. We. Me. want more.(laughs with his mouths completely full)

BANG BANG BANG

ROSE

Oh little brother.(kicks down the door) your favorite Big sis is here.(smiles)

CERB

Who the hell are you?

ROSE

Awe, is that the way you're going to talk to me tonight. I guess I'll just have to live with that.

CERB

I have many sisters. So I’ll ask you again. Who are you pretending to be, strayful demon girl?

ROSE

You really don’t see it huh? (sighs) Fine. I go by (a language only demons can speak). The first daughter of Satan.

CERB

(grabs a turkey) You look nothing like my sister Raiger. (sniffs around) You don’t even carry the same smell.

ROSETTA

(jumps on the table) Maybe I’ve showered.

CERB

No, the stench of power could never be washed away by mere bathing.

ROSETTA

Enough. I have no time for the explanations. Brother. I need something from you.

CERB

I don’t give food to strays.

Katter clutches onto his hand to keep himself from making a miss of this opportunity.

LOKI(V.O.)

If I do nothing, my lady will indeed die.

ROSETTA

I.Am. No. (her buster sword glows red) STRAY! (charges at him)

CERB

(watches her while he continues to shove more food inside his mouths)

LOKI

Katter! What do we do? This miss will get herself killed if she goes against one of the -- (a lighting bolt thuds)

KATTER

Uh. (Lucifer is not on his back)

ROSE

Ah! (Lucifer appears in front of her)

His eyes slowly open. And his arms raise, defending Rose’s path to Cerb.

ROSE

Uh. (stops completely)

CERB

Is that?

ROSE

You're awake. (takes a step back)

Rose slips on a half eaten apple. But Katter catches her.

KATTER

My lady. (she holds his vest tighter) uh.

ROSE

Did you see him? (a tear fell down her cheek) He’s finally awake.

KATTER(V.O.)

That’s it.

ROSE smiles genuinely up to him.

CERB

You're, Lucifer.

Lucifer looks over his own shoulder to see CERB. his fist smashes down on the table.

CERB

You let my sister get killed by that damn God.

Floats next to him.

LUCIFER

Cerberus. Just as missy with your food now than when you were a small pooch.(kicks him in the face)

CERB falls out of his chair.

CERB

You think you can just kick me in my own dinner room!

LUCIFER

What? You gonna sick your little foot soldiers on me.(snaps)

The servants' necks break almost insync of each other.

LUCIFER

Think of it this way. A young girl comes to you. (behind CERB)Which is rare for a goblin like yourself.

CERB throws a punch.

LUCIFER

(behind KATTER) How could you think a cutie like her could waste her time to lie to a lug like you.

KATTER turns in shock.

KATTER

(holds his arms out) (looks up)

LUCIFER grips tightly to her waist.

LUCIFER

Put what I did to your sister on ice for a short bit.(smiles down to her) Just hear the girl out.

CERB

You’ve mistaken us as justice. We are the demon of gluttony. Not of fucking kindness!(the room rumbles)

LUCIFER

Then I am truly sorry, old friend. I have no other option.(sadistic smile grows on his face becoming wider pinning from ear to ear) But to destroy you if you put a hand on my little Rose.

ROSE grips tightly.

ROSE

Lucifer, that’s enough. You can put me down.

LOKI

What the hell do we do.

KATTER

Stay in your place if you don’t want your pride as a servant go out the window.

KATTER watches Lucifer set her on the table.

LOKI

Katter.

ROSE

I can prove it to you. That I am in fact your sister.

CERB

(looks to Lucifer’s palitly smiling face)

LUCIFER walks behind her with his eyes tightly shut while continuing to smile. His lime green eyes opened shortly and began to glow eerily. Looking at right through CERB.

LUCIFER(V.O.)

Cerberus, I never took you as prideful. (look off) But if you want to play it the hard way. (back to CERB) I can make it both slow and enjoyable. (smiles sweetly) For me.

CERB (v.o.)

(nervous) You haven’t changed one bit, fallen one. Putting the fear of Satan into demons. All for what? To get your way with that young demon girl?(Lucifer glares at him in murderous intent) (CERB breaks the eye contact)

CERB

I’m listening.

ROSE

(shocked) The humans have made a story about the eldest daughter. She separated her two parents from each other because she didn’t want them to have any more children. What they don’t know is why.

COLE overhears ROSE in the dining room.

CERB

No one knows about why my sister made the natural divide. You could just be lying.

LUCIFER

Then let's make it interesting. (holds onto her chin) I’ll use my word of God on her. So she can’t tell a lie to me.

CERB

I guess I have no other choice in the matter. You won’t leave until you get my food.

LUCIFER

Obedience will get you far. (looks deep into her eyes) Hey, everything is going to be alright. My little Rose.

ROSE

Lus.

Pulls her closely and kisses her lips with romantic passion. Light streams down her throat.

ROSE(V.O.)

Lucifer’s power, Word of God. One of the many tricks he has under his sleeve. Anyone that takes in his poison will have the urge to tell him the truth.

SIDE EFFECT; If the victim tries to lie or uphold info the will eat itself from the inside out.

LUCIFER

What was the reason Raiger separated her parents?

ROSE

To stop the reign of Gods.

Lucifer

ROSE

The curse of the sky god is still active.

CERB

Raiger. It’s you.

Lucifer lifts the spell.

CERB

But how? We, I thought you were dead.

ROSE

(stands up)I can not answer.

CERB

Right, because of your curse.

Cole

So she's cursed but why?

ROSE

I’m hungry.

CERB

I don't carry any souls in the castle.

ROSE

I need food or.

CERB

So what do you want?

LUCIFER

(laughs)I really don’t think you get it.

CERB

ROSE growls.

CERB

ROSE

I’m so hungry.

LUCIFER

Your sister's source is.(keeps talking)

CERB

ROSE

It’s okay little bro. I’ll keep you alive. (licks her lips) Promise! (charges)

CERB Raises his hand to her.

LOKI

KATTER

Mistress Rosetta!

Lucifer turns to the doorway.

Rose charges at him.

ROSE

Times up!

Her sword appears and she separates the blade into two swords. Dodging his attacks left and right. She drags the swords up his arm while she continues to run.

ROSE

Give me your power!

Her wild run, ripping into the fur and skin of Cerberus. Her smile turned insane.  Her eyes rumble. Her tongue hanging out of her mouth hungry for his power. Her grunt is demonic.

And at an instant. One of Cerberus heads thump to the floor.

ROSE

I can't stop. It makes me feel so (smile)hungry.

She gorges on Cerberus' inner layers of his stomach.

COLE

(in fear) (he takes steps back)She's eating another demon.

LUCIFER

Who are you?

COLE turns.

LUCIFER

I remember your weak, almost human Manna flow from before.

COLE

You were the guy that was asleep on that doctor dude.

KATTER

That doctor dude has a name.

COLE

Ah! Yeah. You're the one that kicked me! Damn Doctor dude!

KATTER

(Grabs his collar) Look, my name is Katter. Kay, Ter. Got it!

COLE

Yeah sure.

KATTER

Say it. Or I eat you.

COLE

Your Katter!

KATTER

Awe,(smiles sweetly) who’s a good demi demon.

LOKI

How did the human get here?! I thought I pushed you.

COLE

You did but I ran in the portal before it closed. Losing my shoes in the process so thanks for that.

LUCIFER

(chuckles) That sounds so human of you. (He grabs Cole’s shoulder) I’ve never met a half demon before. You must be very powerful. (sniffs his head)

COLE

Hey! (falls) Get away from my head!

Lucifer glares at him in anger.

LUCIFER

Phoenix scorn.

A flame lights in his hand. Bursting light sunlight.

LUCIFER

her all over you. Time to see the natural divide.

COLE

(stands his ground) I don’t know who you're talking about. But whoever she is I don’t feel the need to die over her.

KATTER

You what?!

LOKI

Now's not the time to fight over Lady Rosetta.

COLE(V.O.)

Rosetta. Yeah I remember now. She fainted when she saw that pale snake try to attack me. So I took her to my room. When I think of it now it’s not as pure as I thought it was before.

LOKI

Uh! Hey, what do you think you’re doing, Mister Lucifer?

LUCIFER

I knew it. You were the one who touched my woman.

COLE

Even if she has feelings for you, doesn’t mean She belongs to you!

LUCIFER

What did you just say!?

COLE

Oh, you didn’t hear that let me make it blatant for you, asshole.

LUCIFER

It will be fun killing a lowly insect like you.

COLE

Try me fairy boy.

LUCIFER

KATTER

Sir Lucifer, my lady will not forgive a fallen angel that would put harm to a weak demi demon like him.

LUCIFER

(chuckles) Proof that you little spirits don’t know your lady as much as you think you do.(burns out) Rose doesn’t take any responsibility for demi demons.

COLE

ROSE

Lucifer. (they all look) Uh. Cole?

She’s drenched in goop and demon blood.

ROSE

Uh.(see him) Cole? What are you doing here?

KATTER

My lady, you're filthy! (runs to her side) Let me clean you up.

He wipes off her cheek with his hacker chief. While Lucifer glares at Katter. He smiles while he cleans her face off.

ROSE

(notices Lucifer gaze) Enough, Katter. I don’t need a hand by you.

KATTER

Uh. (he stops) Right, My apologies my lady. I’ve gotten too informal with you.

ROSE

I agree.

KATTER is shocked but then saddened.

COLE

Hey, Rose.

ROSE

(turns to him)

COLE

Who’s the creep with the wings.

ROSE

Lucifer Angelical. He’s my Fiance.

COLE

Wait, Fiance?

LUCI. grabs her by the chin and hand almost like they were going to star in a girl romance novel.

LUCIFER

She’s mine. So stay away.

COLE

(lowers) I see.

COLE(V.O.)

How can I save Hazel if I can’t get close to Rose.(angry)

COLE

You lied to me back in the hotel.

LOKI

Excuse me! (his eyes sharpen)

KATTER

(sighs) Why did I even think of saving you?

ROSE

What are you talking about?

COLE

You, (points) your the one who made the Natural divide.

LOKI lowered his vision.

LUCIFER(V.O.)

Who the hell does he think he is?!

Rose notices that her arm is gripped by Lucifer. Rose looks up at cole.

ROSE

(laughs) I guess you overheard my performance. (wipes her tears) Look, no one made the natural divide.

COLE

What?

ROSE

The natural divide is the end of a human spirits afterlife. Meaning death after death.

Lucifer

The human women named Eve ate the fruit of knowledge. Cursing women to be the dominant factor of procreation. Adam ate the fruit causing both humans to get kicked out of Eden.

ROSE

I honestly don’t understand how one goddess can create a curse so powerful. But hey, can’t judge ‘em.

COLE

So the natural divide is complete death.

LOKI

That soul lingers in the spiritual world longer than the human body.

KATTER

The deity that probably planted the tree just might be long gone by now.

ROSE

(smiles) The elderly gods got tired of mankind disappointing them. So they packed it up and made paradis for gods.

COLE

(drops to the floor)

LOKI

Hey are you okay?

COLE

So humans die. For forever.

Rose becomes serious.

COLE

Hazel.(hold his mouth)

COLE(v.o.)

What have I done?

ROSE

You got it.(pushes his arm off) Everything about humans is temporary. (walk to Cole) Their greed for money, want for power, feels of jealousy and selfishness.(kneels) They take none of these things with them in death. But the memory of it.(he looks up) The love, fear, bliss, loneliness and bravery.(holds out her hand) It stays all with them through the afterlife.

COLE reaches out for her.

LUCIFER

Rose.

She stops, and pulls her hand away.

ROSE

You wanted to save someone important to you from the natural divide. When did they die?

COLE

Last fall.

ROSE

Fall.(bows) I’m sorry for your loss.

COLE

Yeah.

Lucifer

If that’s all, we’ll be going on our way now.

COLE

Wait. I want to be tried for the crime that I committed.

COLE(V.O.)

I have a gut feeling about this girl. Who or what whatever she is has still not been answered yet.

ROSE

Oh. The illegal soul eating in the forest of dreams. I as the first heir to hells thrown deem you not guilty.

COLE

Huh?

ROSE

After my servant took a bite out of you. He told me that day was the first time in 100 years you’ve ever tried to entering the forest.

COLE

Well yes but.

LOKI

But? Look, unlike a lot of demons you're getting a second chance at life.

ROSE walks off with everyone else following her.

KATTER

Just give it up, whatever you're looking for isn’t with our lady.

COLE

Damnit. I can’t give up. No matter what, I'll find the natural divide goddess. And if it turns out you knew who she was I’ll find you myself Rose and.

ROSE

(appears right in front of him) And what? (intensely) What will you do?

COLE

I.

ROSE

I just ate one of my own siblings I knew sense birth. And you can scare me with a little scythe?

COLE

I can at least give it a good old demonic try.
