Elisha pov

As I make my way towards home, I could feel terror within me rising.

𝙎𝙝𝙚 knew I wasn't home yesterday.

I would have chose not to return to house  but it's equally dangerous for my little brother as for me.

He's just 7 , while I'm 16 .

I fastened my steps, hurried towards home.

Finally upon reaching, I saw 𝙝𝙚𝙧.

My dear mother, more like devil mother.

She was on verge of blasting her anger on elision. My younger brother.

You might think I'm a very heartless person to think of running away from my parents, but this isn't as simple as it looks.

Calling us a family, is a shame to the word.

My mother is a very greedy woman, she's totally toxic.

My father is a alcoholic, he beat me as he pleases, since I was 4 .

As I go inside the room, mother finally acknowledge my presence. Completely raged, she comes close to me and raises her hand to slap me. Just as she was about to, elision came between us and held her wrist while sobbing.

" Mama, please don't hurt sister, you can sl-slap me i- I pro- promise I won't cr-cry". Elision managed to ramble while sobbing.

I put my hand on elision shoulder to reassure him. But before I can say anything, mother yanked his  hand and pushed him aside. Making him fall on floor and hurt his head. I was angered and pushed mother aside and quickly took elision on my lap.

I checked him, it's lucky that he didn't got much hurt , or else I know for damn sure that , this wrench woman won't spare any money for my dear elision treatment.

As I held elision in my embrace, mother came from behind and pulled my hair very hard, it felt like they would fall out today.

"You whore, how dare you steal my money and pay this bastard fees.

I'll kill you today. " Mother spat Resentfully.

Heh..... Her money ? , it all my hard earned money, I left my my studies in middle so I can earn more money to support my younger brother. I work from morning till night everyday so that my brother won't feel less than other kids. Still her and father doesn't even think this all matters all they want is their slave and punching bag, apart from this, my brother and I doesn't matter to them.

" Mothe-" Before I can complete my sentence, she slapped my hard. Making me wincing in pain and blood coming out from my mouth.

" Don't you fucking bitch call me mother, call me madam, you whore "

She said.

" Yes, madam. Please forgive me madam I didn't mean to steal money, I'll return it immediately as soon as I get my pay " After I finished, she landed another slap and left saying,

"  a bitch , humph  😒".

After she left the room, I quickly sought water from the kitchen and sprinkle some on elision face to wake him up, within seconds he opened his eyes, he looked at me, on verge of tears.

" I'm very sorry sister, you have to endure all this because if me, if only I was stronger and older, I would've protected you. I'm very sorry sister     😭😭😭😭😭😭" He said crying while embracing me tightly.

"Dear, don't cry. It's not your fault that we got asshole parents, i don't need you to protect me, I just want you to be safe and happy " I said while wiping his tears and massaging the area where he got hit on head.

"Just a little longer honey, after that we'll be away from them and happy"

I mumbled to myself.
