My name is Miranda. I will have my 18th birthday after a week. I am kind of nervous as well as excited because I got to learn that something big is going to happen to me that day. I hope nothing bad happens.
I am a student of Stuyvesant High School. It is a great school. People say you have to be brilliant enough to get admitted here. I worked my butt off to get into here. You know, make your parents proud and stuff. So here I am, in my dream school, living my dream life.

This one here is Lydia. She is the first person I met after coming here. She is super supportive and friendly, but in some cases she can be complicated also. Well, we should accept everyone with their flaws because everyone has flaws.

I am going out for lunch with Aaron. So, is the time okay with you?
Miranda
Ahaa!!! Going on a lovey-dovey date, I see!!!! 😏😏

Aaron is Lydia's boyfriend aka my friend as well. They have been dating for 2 years now. Aaron met Lydia through me and things hit off immediately between them. They were in a situation-ship first, but slowly they confessed and became committed. I found it really adorable.
Aaron
What's up, ladies? I thought I heard my name. ☺️
Aaron comes and grabs Lydia by her waist, and pulls her for a passionate kiss. My cheeks turn pink and I look away.
Miranda
Mh mhm... I was just teasing Lydia about your date. 🤭
My interruption makes them break the kiss. Aaron looks satisfied and Lydia's face looks flushed. That makes me want to kiss someone as well.
Lydia feels embarrassed and almost runs for her class. Aaron and I exchange a small laugh and bade bye to go our ways.
I find it so ironic that friends become strangers after getting into a relationship. It's not like I am complaining or being b*tchy about it, I just find it off.
I am walking to my class when I feel cold on my left hand. I have been getting into this type of situation where whatever I touch becomes ice. The worst part is, I cannot control it. It occurs suddenly, like now.

F*ck! Not here, not now of all times, please!
I get terrified. If people notice, they will outcast me and call me a monster. I don't want to become an outcast.
My parents also warned me to be careful enough, so that I don't reveal this secret.
My head starts spinning because of all the anxiety attacks I am having. Suddenly, I feel a burning stare from afar. It feels like someone is watching me. I glance in that direction and get captivated by the ocean blue eyes.
He is none other than Flynn Ryan, the most famous person on our campus.
Miranda
Why is he looking at me like that?
I mumble to myself. Right then, as if he read my mind, he slowly approaches in my direction. My throat feels dry and tight.
Miranda
*Mumble*Why is he coming this way? 😐
Flynn comes and lowers himself, so that he can whisper in my ear. My heart starts beating like a fanatic and I can feel judgmental stares from others.
Flynn
I'm sure you don't want to get exposed. I would suggest that you somehow hide it.
Flynn puts a handkerchief over my left hand. Though I am not feeling any coldness on my hand, but the book I was holding tuned hard as an ice.
I feel so grateful for Flynn's help.
I whisper back at Flynn and wrap the handkerchief around the book.
But I clearly don't understand, why is it always him helping me in these situations!!
