"Alright! Back to sparring!" Major yells.
I walk over to May, holding my hand out as she was sitting down in worry.
"Would you stop worrying, qnd spar with me already? I could teach you a thing or two?"
"Fine. Just don't scare me like that again.." She says taking my I hand, I pull her up so abruptly she almost yelps.
She tries to mimic my stance from earlier. Her legs were too close, shoulders too scrunched, and her hands were in reverse.
"You have more to learn than I thought.." I say, and before she can reply, "spread your legs a bit. That's too much, they should be about shoulder width apart. Good! Now switch your hands up. Aaannnd relax your shoulders, don't slouch, but we're not tryjng to touch our shoulder to our ears.."
"Is that all?" May intervenes almost sounding exhausted.
"Now we got to see you strike me." I say as calmly as possible.
"Huuuuuuh??!!" May shouts, gladly everyone else is too involved with sparring on their own to take notice.
"Strike me!" I say stepping into her, forcing her to defend or run away..
Closing her eyes, May's sword clashes with mine.
"See? I you can block an attack like that, then there's no worry for me."
"Are you trying to jnsult me?" May says turning around. I poke her in the back with my sword.
"You're being led through a dark tunnel and a thug has been entrusted with this task of guiding you through. From what you can tell there's only him behind you. What'll you do?"
She spins around, and using that momentum she deflects my sword and draws her knife on me, making me block with my gauntlet.
"Good!"
I grab the blade and throw it away, stuffing my right hand in her armpit I start to throw her but end up only holding her above me right hand in her armpit and left supporting her stomach and hip.
"Whaaa!?" She screams and flails. "Put me down! Put me down!"
The bell signals the end of school, so I grant her request and put her down.
We go change back into our regular clothes.
Walking down the halls I apologize for almost throwing her. She stops at a poster advertizing the school dance happening three days from now.
Staring at the poster she says, "I'll only forgive you if you attend this with me." She then points at the poster and looks at me with the most sincere eyes I have yet seen. I blush, and when I hesitate to give her an answer she starts tearing up.
"Woah! Why are you crying? I haven't even rejected you!"
"I-I don't know.." She says wiping the tears streaming down her cheeks to no avail.
"I'll go! I'll go!" grabbing her shoulders I gently shaker her. "It's just that I've never danced before, so I can't promise you'll have a fun time.."
When I finished my sentence she almost jumped into me hugging me tightly. All I could think to do was to hug her back.
A few minutes later she gets up on her tippy-toes and wispers in my ear, "I know why I'm crying now. They're tears of joy and relief."
At that moment the Nightingales outside seemed to glitter as if they shared this moment with me and enjoyed it just as much.
Here's that last scene!
