4- Weird Day

The last few weeks have been kinda weird for me.

Dad constantly calls to find out how I am doing and also he keeps telling me he has a surprise for me for my birthday \, he has not returned from *his business* as yet\, he said in a few days he'll be back . I wonder how big of a surprise it could be seeing that my birthday is less than a month away .

Tony said that he has to close the shop by the end of the first week in March, which was just a week away ,so this was going to be my last week working here and he has been on my *** constantly nagging me on useless things, I feel a bit more for Zach and Lisa as they have to get new jobs ,Tony said the owner was going to buy everything but because he didn't agree with the owner he has to close the store and move all his things out.

There's been a lot of construction and other things happening in the building, jackhammers power saws and other noises can be heard all day, on top of that Marcus comes everyday to and asks for a special cappuccino, he sometimes gets a table near a window and is always seated facing the counter, now and again he takes a few to go when he leaves for the day, sometimes he also comes down with some other men who wear construction gear.

It seems he's the owner of the building the way he moves around the building with the construction workers.

I have also noticed a black SUV stop in front of the shop every now and then but no one comes out or gets in, it just stays there for about an hour and then leaves ,the tint is too dark to see through, I usually just go back to do whatever i was doing and not take it on .

I was making an espresso for a customer, she seemed to be trying to flirt with me, flicking her hair back and curling a strand between her fingers while batting her long eyelashes , I just ignored her and continued to make the drink.

As I finished making the espresso to place it on the counter to hand it to her ,I noticed she had taken a seat and was waving for me to bring it over ,I told Zach to deliver it to her. He walked over to her and her expression became annoyed as he placed the coffee in front of her , she looked over to me and i smirked a bit by how annoyed she was.

A few minutes after Ms.Flirty tried to make her move on me Marcus walked in and took his usual seat, I already know what he wants so I go ahead and make it for him . Zach and Lisa were busy flirting with each other and Ms. Flirty  was there on her phone tapping away , so I walked over to him and placed his cup in front of him .

As I was walking away he called me

" Hey  Jade can I talk to you for a moment." He said , He started calling me Jade when he noticed the bracelet and the pendant on me.

" Yeah what's up." I answer. He gestured towards the empty seat for me to sit  , I hesitated a bit but did anyway . He sat quietly for a moment as if he was going over his thoughts .

"I have a proposition for you ."he said .

" What kind of proposition ?" I asked him.

" I know this place is closing down next week and I'll be moving into this building by then ,so I was thinking maybe you could make coffee for me personally three days a week ."

I looked at him for a moment . " I'll think about it ." I said as I got up and made my way back to the counter, while heading back Ms. Flirty stood in front of me " So they call you Jade?"she said while curling a strand of her hair.

" Yeah they do." I answered trying to move away from her.

" I like your accent , where are you from?" She questioned, placing her hand on my shoulder. I quickly shifted away and replied " I'm from San Francisco and I'm not interested." I walked back to the counter and took a seat as there was nothing to do at the moment, I notice Marcus looking at me and chuckling to himself at what he saw happen.

About five minutes later a red convertible pulled up in front of the shop, there was a man driving. He jumped out the car took off his shades and some documents from the car and walked into the shop . My eyes widened when I saw who it was, he looked to the corner window and saw Marcus .

" Ah Mr. Wayland is everything going well with the renovations?" He asked.

" Going well , I should move in by next week." Marcus answered.

The man then looked over to me and said " So what,am I not getting a hug ?"

I smiled and walked over to him and gave him a big hug ,

" Hi Uncle Henry."
