Hard Bombers

**The next morning**

waking up I stretch with a groan as I try to alleviate some of the pain in my back, ugh.... this is not how I would start the day. Getting out of bed has never been harder, after the bathroom. I head into the kitchen to pour myself a cup of water, but thankfully the smell of French toast in the morning helps as a sedative. Sitting down I start eating, though Chase is already half way done.

Chase" so how's your back?"

it'll heal. Thanks for the French toast, they're delicious.

Chase" you're welcome, oh, Shirley called while you were sleeping he said you can take the day off or not. But you have to take it easy."

a day off does sounds good... but I can't leave my partner alone.

Chase" thanks partner."

after that, we head out to A.D.O.A hq.

At A.D.O.A hq Shirley's office

Shirley" you know, you should be taking the day off."

even so, I'm not one to sit around. So what's our task for today?

Chase" hopefully something fun."

Shirley" afraid not, at least not the way you imagine it. Meet the Hard Bombers, long records of arsony, and have been tied to certain terrorist groups."

Shirley" your tasks, are to follow their leader Baggs... try to see what info you can extract from him."

Chase" does that mean we get to interrogate him?"

Shirley" not with lethal force... unless necessary."

alright, pretty straight forward. So has there been any movement from the Midnight Stalker?

Shirley" no not yet. But if I got something I'll let you two know."

nodding we both head out of Shirley's office, and out of A.D.O.A hq, as we approach Hard Bomber territory, edge drapes my mind. Maybe it's just me, or maybe it's a sign that today's... gonna be far from easy.

After spending a couple hours following him, the edge slowly starts to slip away, finally the guy goes to use the bathroom in a coffee shop. Alone, perfect. Hopping out of the car I head into the coffee shop and beeline straight for the bathroom, and I catch him as he's washing his hands.

Baggs" hey man, can I help you?"

yes, bye.

knocking him out, I drag him out of the coffee shop and place him in the trunk of our car. With a toothy grin, Chase starts the car and drives us to a abandon building. Killing the engine Chase smiles as she takes a steel bat from the back seat, gesturing to the trunk. He's gonna feel that the next morning..... hopping out of the car we open the trunk to find him just waking up, oh, this is gonna get very painful...

**A few hours of hard interrogating later**

Baggs"{sobbing}ple... please, I'll tell you everything just ask her to stop..."

alright.

signaling with a nod, Chase takes a couple steps back.

now talk.

Baggs" look, we were told that we're only a decoy to any prying eyes, see. And the real target is actually A.D.O.A hq, please let me go."

nodding to Chase we both step away still having our eyes on him but far enough that we're out of earshot.

**phone ringing**

Shirley" so how's it going?"

Chase" we got Baggs, he said his crew are decoys and the real bombers are setting their sight on A.D.O.A hq."

Shirley"..... that's big, alright you two stay with Baggs I'll tell the Chief. Good work you two, keep it up."

**phone beeping**

well... I've got an idea, what about we knock him out and grab lunch. What do you think?

Chase" sounds good to me, but I guess the bat is out of the question, huh?"

yes, c'mon.

after that, me & Chase decided to drive to the Japanese restaurant we went to the other day. it's a twenty minute drive from where we're so the traffic wasn't too bad. After we've settled in our seats, we order two bowls of ramen. Mine has pork belly while Chase has chicken and tempura, after a few minutes of waiting, we dig in and they're delicious! Judging by the sound Chase makes when she slurps up a strand she feels the same. After we finished our ramen, we decided to call Shirley, see how things are at A.D.O.A hq.

**phone ringing**

Shirley" hey Chase, so what's with the call? Is everything alright?"

Chase" we are just checking in, so I take it A.D.O.A is still in one piece."

Shirley" yes, very funny. By the way, you're free to go, but do drop Baggs here first."

Chase" sure thing, we'll see you there."

**phone beeping**

I'm driving!

Chase" fine... but the next one's mine."

alright.

A short while later, we arrive at A.D.O.A hq. Where it's just as usual, weird. Anyways after dropping off our catch, we head to talk with Shirley before going back home. After we arrive I check everything before plopping down on the couch..... after a few minutes I decide to give Charlie a call, it rings but no one picks up.... feeling thirsty I duck into the kitchen making myself some tea, and popping out from the room Chase is wearing a very.... attractive dress, and I can't help but ask...

are you going to a club? Or is it a party?

Chase" I'm going to a bar party a couple blocks from here. Do you want to join?"

if it's alright, I think I'll stay here.

but thanks for the offer.

Chase" oh, okay. Well if you change your mind I made you an outfit. Bye."

bye.

after locking the door, my curiosity gets the best of me. Heading into the bedroom I go straight to the closet and inside I see the outfit with a sticky note on it. Writing 'hey just in case you want to go' she's got a good eye, after a couple of minutes I decide to head to the bar party. After a short while walking I manage to find Chase amongst the party. She smiles clearly impressed with her sense of fashion, after a couple hours on the dance floor we both go to the bar to get a drink... I got to say this is, fun. Until the fifth round of guys come to hit on Chase, seriously these guys are way to thirsty.... but Chase knows how to deal with it. From experience no doubt, after our little break we step back onto the dance floor.

**a few hours later back at my place**

woah..... they really weren't messing around with those drinks.

Chase" yeah, that's for sure..... hey, thanks for coming."

we're partners ain't we?{hiccup}

Chase" alright, c'mon you're coming with me."

alright... but, I'm not sleepy.

Chase" but you are drunk, and you should rest."

even though, I don't want to Chase is right I'm drunk. So I should hit the hey, letting her tuck me in, I close my eyes letting sleep take me to my dreams if I have any.

**The next morning**

waking up with a massive hangover, yeah, is definitely not something I'd recommend to start your day with. Uuuuugggghhhh..... I feel so sluggish, even walking to the bathroom is hard... and using it has never been harder, at least Chase doesn't seem to be affected.

morning partner. You look fresh.

Chase" that's because... I'm a pro at drinking, and you my partner are not. C'mon here you go, some fried eggs and a hangover special."

this might be the hangover but... you are the best partner I ever had.

Chase" I'm the only partner you ever had. Now eat. Shirley wants us to be at A.D.O.A hq in half an hour."

**Half an hour pass, at A.D.O.A hq**

Shirley" good morning... yikes! Leo what happened to you? You look like hangover central."

well... I was accompanying my partner here.

shooting a raise eyebrow at both of us, Shirley just stares at us with disbelief for a couple moments. Then proceeds with our tasks.

Shirley" and that's all. So do you need me to hand you a copy of this list or are you two good?"

Chase" we're, well we'll see you later."

heading out from Shirley's office we decided to use the car, and I'm definitely not the one driving. After a couple hours we manage to get nearly half of the tasks done, so settling with some burgers we set out to get the rest... and we do. By the time we're done, it's almost nine o'clock. After a quick talk with Shirley we decided that we would catch up on some Chasing you.

**back at my house, after Chasing you**

oh, wow. What a cliffhanger.

Chase" I know... I guess we'll just have to watch it tommorow. Alright, here let me take that."

thanks.(hmm... it's not to late I'll just send Charlie a text. If she responds I'll call her if not she's probably having to much fun with Rogue and their kids, and our friends.)

shooting the text, I wait for a few minutes and Charlie texts me back. Calling her she directly picks up and though I may not have super hearing I know Rogue's breathing especially when both of them are... Ahem. Having Fun.

Charlie" hi Leo, so are you feeling better?"

yeah I'm thanks for asking. Am I interrupting your time with Rogue? If so we can talk tomorrow.

Charlie"{panting}no you didn't, oh how's your job going?"

good, hey Rogue if I were to come would that be okay?

Rogue" of course, Chase can come along too. So should we tell everyone you're coming?"

yeah, it's been awhile since we all hang out. Well I'll leave you two wolves to get back to it.

Rogue & Charlie" bye."

Chase" aww, I didn't knew you had a soft side."

because after the things I did, I thought I didnt deserve to have it, or any of my friends.

Chase" hey, you save two kids from a burning building. You're alright, so don't beat yourself over what happen in the past just focus on now and the future."

thanks. Well I'll be in bed if you need me. Goodnight.

Chase" goodnight, partner."
