~One month earlier, before Nisha gone missing.~
Nisha's dimly lit bedroom, rain tapping insistently against the window.
She tiptoes through the kitchen, her bare feet brushing against cool tiles.
The scent of cumin and turmeric hangs in the air-the promise of a warm meal.

This would surely impress maa...
She arranges the lunch tray: Steaming rice, aloo gobi, Roti, and salad.
The sun slants through the window, casting a elongated shadow.
She arranges the dish on the dining table, and pulls out her exam result that was shimmering like gold in her pocket!

Her mother emerges, she's busy on a phone call.

Well, if things weren't that well before then now they really got worse... just as I thought the mom wouldn't say anything worse, the next line would literally surprise me to the next level 💀
These words make someone go from talking to parents about problems with other people, to talking to other people about problems with their parents.
And it's at their lowest that people get easily affected, especially if they see a glimpse of a better option.
Just as they say, someone can eat anything when starving, thus Nisha could go after the slightest sign of affection, doesn't matter the source...
