Ep 1

Zexia slowly open her eyes to see a doctor standing by her bed.

" Hello Zexia, I'm Dr. Meyer. Are you alright?"

Zexia didn't answer, instead she looked down at her legs and arms, bandages wrapped neatly around the injuries she got from the accident before looking back at Dr. Meyer.

"Where am I?" Zexia asked, her voice weak as she speaks.

" You're at Conhan Hospital. You were in a car accident. Do you remember anything before the car crashed?"

Zexia ignored Dr. Meyer's question and asked, " Where is my mom?"

Dr. Meyer sat down at one of the seats near her bed and said, " I'm sorry but I can't tell you that until I know who gave you those bruises all over your body."

Zexia clenched her fists before saying," I got it from the accident"

" Zexia, you and I both know that's not true. Please tell me the truth"

" I.... I can't, he'll hurt her" Zexia said

" I can't let him hurt her again. I can't lose her too"

" Don't worry we will keep you both.... " before Dr. Meyer's could finish her sentence the speaker went off saying, " Code blue, code blue in room 45. "

" I have to go" Dr. Meyer said quickly getting up and heading into room 45. It was the room Zexia mother was being treated. She was in cardiac arrest and a nurse was already doing CPR.  The defibrillator was brought in and besides Dr. Meyer's best efforts, Zexia's mother's heart did not regain it's rhythm. Dr. Meyer continued to tell the nurse to do chest compressions until Yara enter the room and held hand and forcing her to put down the defibrillator. Yara called it and dismissed everyone from the room before hugging Dr. Meyer also known as Xira, her wife tightly.

" Xira, she's gone honey." Yara said in a gentle tone.

Xira looked at Zexia's mother lifeless body, her cheeks wet from the tears as she insisted," No, we have to do something. She is all Zexia had left. Her dad used to abuse them."

" I know babe, I know" Yara replied.

" She'll lose the only person she had left. We have to try once more, please"

Yara turned Xira to face her, hugging her yet again before repeating," She's gone babe, she's gone"

" She's gone. That poor girl. Her mother is gone" Xira said weeping and holding unto the back of Yara's shirt.

After a few minutes, Yara had calmed Xira down enough for her to stop crying and to apologize for her actions.

" I will go and tell Zexia what happened" Xira said only to be stopped by Yara's hand grabbing Xira before saying," Sit down with me for a moment."

Xira sat down in the chair right behind her and listened to Yara as she suggested," I think someone else should take this patient"

"What? Why?"

" Because you're too close to the case"
