CHAPTER 3(another sneak out)
As the five friends emerged from the principal's office, a wave of mixed emotions washed over them
Jiyoon and Sarah looked downcast, their eyes reflecting their disappointment at being barred from the Christmas Eve Treasure Hunt. Edward and Minjae, on the other hand, seemed to be simmering with frustration and anger, their expressions tense and brooding.
And then there was Kate. Poor Kate couldn't shake off the eerie events of the previous night. The voices he had heard in the laboratory, the chilling cries, and strange slurping sounds, and that sudden blaring alarm - it all haunted him. He couldn't shake off the fear that gripped him, leaving him unsettled and trembling. !
Kate
'Someone was there .... inside the laboratory.... inside that room...but...but who...'
His mind raced for answers.. he didn't even want to think about it,he just wanted to forget....it was all too much,he had to run away before any more bad thoughts started,or else.....they would follow, but he couldn't run from the truth now so he had to face it himself.
Edward
Hey what are you thinking buddy
Edward placed his hand on Kate's shoulder making the latter flinch badly , His friends shared glances at each other before Sarah spoke
Sarah
Are you okay Kate? You're looking disturbed
Kate
G....guys something unbelievable happened when we sneak into the university at night
Edward's eyebrows raised high and a confused look appeared on the faces of the others
Edward
What do you mean something unbelievable happened'
Edward asked curiously, Kate's expression changed drastically, he took a deep breath before continuing
Kate
At night when I was finding the treasure, i thought it must be hidden in Old laboratories as no one really goes there, I went there but all the three laboratories doors were locked, suddenly the third doors lock broke down and fell on floor
Sarah
It must be because the lock must be old, right? It could have broken because it was damaged
Kate began, His voice tinged with a hint of uncertainty
As he recounted the eerie events that unfolded in that room, the boys sat in rapt attention, their eyes wide with a mixture of fear and intrigue.
Kate
I was getting so many creepy vibes from that room that I made the decision to leave.
Kate
But just as I turned to make my escape, a sudden, jarring alarm clock sound pierced the air, freezing me in my tracks
Kate
That was my first clue to leave that place.
Kate
But then, I heard it - a voice, filled with sorrow and anguish, crying out for help
Kate
I saw the shadow of a man within that room, his form hazy and indistinct in the dim light
Kate
He cried out as if in desperate need of assistance, his pleas echoing through the empty corridors
Kate
I was on the verge of opening that door, ready to offer my aid to the mysterious figure within.
Kate
But then, I heard it - a slurping, guttural sound emanating from the depths of that laboratory room.
Kate
Fear gripped me, my heart pounding in my chest as I hesitated, unsure of what lay beyond that threshold. The darkness within the room seemed to breathe, to pulse with a malevolent energy that sent shivers down my spine
Kate
And then the Guard caught us making us leave the place
Kate looked at his friends with concern and worry written on his face. His friends shared looks between themselves once again, Edward spoke
Edward
Do you think it was a monster? A ghoul like a ghost or what?😃
Kate
Maybe......but the cry from that room is not letting me be in peace, I'm hearing it every time....
Kate answered. The Five Friends were quiet for a moment, before Minjae spoke
Minjae
This is getting ridiculous, Are you making stories now?
Jiyoon
Yeah, Kate! this sounds crazy🤷🏻♀️😅
Kate
But guys I'm telling you the truth, it really happened, there is something in that room which we don't know
Sarah
Guys we all know that Kate never lies, and look at him, do you think he is lying?
She gestured at the younger boy. Edward looked at Kate for a few moments, then looked at his friend's eyes, then finally shook his head.
Edward
No,i guess you're right
Jiyoon
Can we find out what's inside the room?😃
Jiyoon asked desperately with excitement in her eyes
Minjae
Maybe we can do that, yeah?
Edward
Again a night sneak out in university, i suppose?
Edward asked making all of them chuckle,kate was exceptional
