MDZS / The Untamed - What If Wei WuXian Never Died?
Episode 5
The group had finally arrived at the Gusu Lan Sect after a tiring few hours walk. The twins were playing it cool but were secretly exhausted as that was probably the farthest they had walked their entire lives.
As Lan Zhan led the people through the sect, there were several weird stares and whispers following them. Wei Ying ignored it, his gaze and mind focused on Lan Zhan and making sure his children weren’t having a meltdown yet.
Eventually, Lan Zhan stopped in front of his dorm room, turning around to face the juniors trailing after him. The twins remained by Wei Ying’s side, Wei Yue’s gaze mainly on the floor whereas Wei Yang was focused on her surroundings in utter awe.
Lan Zhan
“Lan Sizhui and Lan JingYi. Bring these two too your dorm, they will share with you for now.”
He commanded before turning a blind eye and walking towards his dorm room, expecting Wei Ying to follow and explain why he just has two kids in hiding with him for all these years.
Wei Ying followed, giving a quick reassuring hug before disappearing into Lan Zhan’s room. Lan Sizhui gave a polite smile, leading everyone to their new shared dorm room. Lan JingYi trailed beside Lan Sizhui, hiding his excitement.
Lan Sizhui
“This will be our room. You can claim the two beds on that side.”
Lan Sizhui spoke, his voice had an odd calm to it which made Wei Yue’s gaze finally shift towards him. Wei Yang dragged him over to the beds before plopping down on the one closest to the wall, claiming it as her own.
Lan JingYi watched the siblings interaction, finding it weird how their bond seemed hateful yet they had an underlying care for each other. He got snapped out of his thoughts by Sizhui nudging him, giving a quiet scolding on how it was rude to stare at people.
Lan Zhan closed the door shut, turning towards Wei Ying with a blank gaze. Wei Ying hasn’t seen his face in over 13 years, and the last memory was of him crying his heart out. So to see him being blank was surprising yet unsurprising.
Lan Zhan
“Care to explain who those children are?”
He asked, cutting straight to the point. His posture remained perfect, his right hand bent behind his back and his left dangling at his side. He looked down at Wei Ying, waiting for an explanation.
Wei Ying
“Long story short, some girl saved me the night I jumped off the cliff. She left me with them and I’ve raised them ever since.”
He spoke, adding a small laugh to the end of it like this was a casual conversation. Lan Zhan gave a small nod, not understanding fully but taking the answer anyway.
He then stepped towards Wei Ying, bending down slightly and slivering his arms over the youngers waist. His eyes fluttered shut as his chin rested against Wei Ying’s shoulder.
Wei Ying was shocked, he had never received a hug from THE cold Lan Wangji. After a short second, he immediately warmed up and reciprocated the hug, his arms around the back of Lan Zhan’s neck.
Wei Ying
“I missed you too.”
He replied quietly, a smile plastered on his lips as he embraced the short moment. When he was younger, this would’ve been a dream come true, to finally get the person who seemed to hate him so much to warm up to him. And he did. After 13 years of being banished from the world.
