there is a lot of reason why they are kept on the frontline in wars, one of them is because they are poor and and the Royal army is mostly consists of the son of Aristocrats
they don't wa t their precious sons to die in war so they push the poor on the front and sometimes they are the only one who is fighting...all alone and dies without even being able to called himself a soldier
their shields has only holes and their armors has been lost it's power to protect the owner
