Chapter 1 " The Day It All Began! "

(*distant voice)

"Master Chase, Master Chase "

(*inner voice)

"Who's that! Is that Charlotte!"

"Master Chase! Hurry up and get ready or you'll be late for school"

Chase gets up slowly and rubs his eyes

(*yawn)

"What time is it?"

"It's almost 7 o'clock, Master Chase."

"You know Charlotte, Sometimes I think, what's the point of going to school every morning! It's so annoying!"

Charlotte smiles and answers

"Master Chase, Do you know how silly you sound right now. You should know that your Father wants you to get the best education. That's why he enrolled you in such a top-notch school. Not many children get these kinds of opportunities, you know?"

Chase stretches his arms and answers in a non-interested manner

"Yeah! Yeah! Whatever (*yawns)"

"Master Chase, After you change please come to the dining hall. Your Father is expecting you."

"Wait, Father hasn't left for the office yet?"

"He said that he wants to have breakfast with everyone today"

"Hmm, That's the first time. He always leaves before I even get up. Oh well, I'll be there."

"I'll take my leave then."

After that Charlotte leaves the room. Chase walks towards the bathroom and takes a shower and while taking a shower he thinks to himself

"What a Boring Life I live! (*sighs) And what's up with Father all of a sudden. Oh well, I guess we'll have to find out."

After taking his shower he quickly changes into his school uniform and walks out of his room and walks towards the dining hall. There he sees his Father reading a newspaper and his stepmom, Who he despises.

"Good Morning, Father"

His father turns his attention towards Chase and answers with a smile

"Good Morning, Son."

His Stepmom looks at Chase with an annoyed expression and says

"I'm here too, you know? It wouldn't hurt you to say "GoodMorning" to your Stepmom."

"Well, your not my Mom."

"Chase, We talked about this. I told you that Angela is a part of the family now. So, You should at least treat her kindly. (*with a little anger in his tone)"

Chase *whispers

"(Mother my ***! She looks more like a fuckin ***** to me)"

"What was that Chase?"

"Oh, nothing Father!"

Chase takes a seat and starts eating his breakfast.

"So, How's school, Son?"

"It's fine, Father."

"Good to hear. Um... Listen, Chase, I wanted to talk to you about something. No, More like we wanted to talk to you about something."

Chase looks at his Father and ask

"What is it?"

"Well, You see. We were thinking that we should go on vacation."

Chase *exclaims

"Wow! A vacation! That sounds amazing, Dad. So, When are we leaving?"

"Well, you see..."

Before he could finish his sentence Chase's stepmom says

"Chase, This vacation is for the two of us."

An expression of shock forms on Chase's face

"What?"

His Father answers

"Son, Me and your Mom wanted some time for ourselves."

Chase answers in a light tone

"I'm getting late for school. Sorry! I have to go."

And he takes his bag leaves without uttering a single word. Matt(Chase's dad) turns towards Angela(Chase's Stepmom)

"(*annoyed)You didn't have to say it like that, Angela!"

"You know, Matt. He needs to understand that the two of us have a life as well and we need time to ourselves as well."

Matt answers in an angry tone

"But you didn't have to say it like that. Seriously! You have to understand that this is all new to him. After his mom died, He hasn't been himself. (*stands up) You are supposed to take care of him as a mother should! But instead, you treat him like he's some sort of hurdle. Understand this, That if you want to be with me. You must also have to accept him too. Otherwise, I don't think this marriage can go on. I should be going as well. And you should think about what I said, Alright!"

Angela nods her head but her expressions were saying something otherwise.

Chase walks out of the mansion. Outside of the mansion, There was a well-groomed, Middle-aged man waiting for Chase. This man is "Hendrick". He is a butler and a driver who takes care of Chase. He bows down slightly in respect after he sees Chase walking out of the mansion.

"Master Chase,"

Chase answers

"Hey, Hendrick. How are you?" (*He asks in a sad tone)

Hendrick opens the car's door and answers

"I'm doing well, Master Chase. And how about you?"

Hendrick gets in the car

(*sighs)" I'm having a splendid day (*in a sarcastic tone) I just learned that my Father doesn't give a shit about me and my stepmom wants my dad more than me. So, Yeah! I'm having a wonderful day!"

Hendrick starts the car and looks at Chase through the rear mirror of the car with sad eyes

"Don't say that, Master Chase! Your Father cares about you very much. As for Miss Angela, She's a little rough but she'll get through. Don't worry (*smiles)"

"Yeah! Yeah!"

Chase looks outside the car window as they leave the residence and he wonders to himself

"(To some people this place may look like a paradise but for me. This place is more like HELL!)"

Chase keeps looking at the passing houses, place, and people as they were driving and he wonders

"(I wonder if those small houses are even comfortable? Do these people have the same kind of issues that my family has? Are these people satisfied with what they have? I wonder? (*sighs) I wonder?)"

Hendrick slows down the car

"Master Chase! We are almost at the school grounds!"

"Aw, man! Already?"

(Hendrick *giggles)

"Don't worry you'll make it through today! Master Chase"

Hendrick stops the car in front of the school's gate. Chase gets out of the car

"Have a good day! Master Chase (*smile)"

Chase smiles back and waves goodbye to Hendrick. Suddenly he hears a voice calling out to him

"Hey, Chase!"

Chase turns around and he sees his friend Kanji waving to him. Chase walks towards him

"Hey, Kanji. How's it going? "

"Great man! Hey, Do you know I asked my dad for a new console and It's frickin gorgeous? You should come by sometime, dude."

"Yeah, sure!"

(*inner thoughts)

"(This guy! He's just too much! His father is a business tycoon. And the only reason he sticks with me is because of my Dad's connections could help his father. But now that I think about it, All my friends are with me because I'm rich, None of these assholes would ever talk to me if I was a poor kid. Some people are just assholes in their youth. But who am I to talk? Even I'm only 8...)"

"Hey! Hey Chase."

Chase snaps out of his thoughts and answers

"Yeah! What is it?"

"What were you thinking dude? Wait, don't tell me! You're in love, right? Damn! Our Chase has fallen in love. Hey, you guys(He calls out to others) Chase has a crush on someone."

Chase pinches Kanji and whispers

"Are you NUTS! What the hell are you doing?"

Kanji smirks mischievously.

"Looks like someone feeling shy!"

"I've never seen Chase so embarrassed before!" (Harry)

Harry is one of Chase's friends

"Just shut up! okay?"

"Yeah! Yeah!" (Kanji)

Right after this conversation, the teacher comes in the classroom and the whole day goes on like it always does. During the break, Chase always hangs out with his friends in the cafeteria.

"Hey! Chase try this cinnamon bun! It's really good."

"Nah! I don't like cinnamon buns. You can have it."

Suddenly as they were talking a girl passes by Chase and his friends. This girl was also one of Chase's classmates. This girl had short black hair, Blue eyes, Triangle shaped face, And had a shy personality"

"Yo guys! Do you know who that shy girl is? She's one of our classmates.!"

Chase looks at the girl and to him, she seemed like an ordinary elementary school girl. So, He doesn't pay much attention.

"What's so special about that girl? She seems like an ordinary girl." (Chase)

"Oh, you don't know? She can't talk. She's a mute. Her name's Chloë!" (Harry)

"And judging by her clothes I think she's probably a poor girl from a farm. (*laughs)" (Kanji)

"I believe she's Mrs. Hana's daughter!" (Harry)

"Our P.T teacher?" (Chase)

"Yeah! I heard that she's so frickin ruthless. That she once made a kid piss his pants just by yelling at him."

"(*shivers) Jeez! That woman is one hell of a monster!" (Kanji)

"And I also heard that her husband is a Martial Artist who won a gold medal in the (World Martial Arts Tournament)." (Harry)

"Hmm! That's kinda cool." (Kanji)

"And how the hell do you know all of this?" (Chase)

Harry (*smirks)

"It's one of my hobbies. You see! I wanna become a detective when I grow up. So, I just keep taps on everyone!"

"Nah! Your just a stalker who is obsessed with "Detective Conan"(*giggles)." (Kanji)

"Hey, Shut up! (*pouts) And I'm not obsessed with detective Conan I'm...(*blushes) just inspired by it. That's all." (Harry)

"Yeah! But you're expressions say otherwise! (*laughs)" (Kenji)

"(*Offended) Just SHUT UP!" (Harry)

(*inner thoughts)

"((*sighs) These guys are such WEIRDOS!)"

Chase and his friends head back to the classroom but on their way, they encounter some girls bullying someone. As they get closer, Chase's eyes lit up and he sees that same girl that he and his friends were talking about being bullied. And the ones bullying her were Hannah and her friends Dina and Lin. All three of those girls were remarkably rich. Their parents owned their own companies like Chase's dad.

"Look at this mute, puppy!" (Linda)

(*slaps)

Chloë moves two steps back and hits the wall behind her. Hannah puts her hand on Linda's shoulder...

"Hey! you shouldn't hit her like that you'll get poverty disease or some sort of disability! (*giggles)"

"God! But, She's so irritating! I mean, everyone treats her like she's something special. (*heatedly) She's nothing but a mute."

"Guys! I don't think we should waste our time on this thing!"

Suddenly they notice someone approaching them.them. They step back from Chloë. Chase and his buddies look at Hannah and her Friends.

"Hey! Hannah, What'ya all doing there?" (Kenji)

"Oh! It's only you guys. (*sighs) Well, we were just having some fun with our friend Chloë over here."

"It doesn't seem like it!" (Harry with a worried look)

"(*aggressively) Harry! You know, you should just mind your own business!" (Linda)

"Whoa! Whoa! Someone's angry! (*laughs)" (Kenji)

(*whispers)

"Hey, Chase should we do something?" (Harry)

The girl looks at Chase with desperation and tears in her eyes. Chase clearly understands that this girl needs my help but then he remembers the conversation he had with his parents this morning and a certain hatred and ignorance starts developing in his heart. And eases his heart by taking it all out on her.

"Nah! I don't want to do anything with this crappy situation! Let's just leave!" (Chase)

"But Chase, She's hurt." (Harry)

"What are you? Huh... her father?"

Harry looks at Chase with a somber look and answeres

"No!" (Harry)

"Then, Let's go! Kenji You're coming?" (Chase)

"Yeah, I'm coming! (He looks at the girls)See you later ladies!" (Kenji)

As they turn there backs at Chloë. Hannah smiles and looks at her and says

"See! Nobody wants to help a shit like you."

So, instead of helping her, he just ignores her like she was nothing but a nuisance, a pest in his way. And those are the exact thoughts that he felt when he ignored that girl. That girl kept looking at Chase as he walked away and wondered, "Why didn't he help me?" But Chase was unaware that, Something very similar was about to happen to him.
