Chapter 4: Sweet Revenge

"Would you like some chocolate cake, Ron?" Cindy asked, flashing a fake smile on her plastic-like face. She was one of the popular girls in our school, constantly vying with Ren for popularity.

"Cindy, you know my brother doesn't like cake from the canteen," Ren replied, maintaining a smile while facing Cindy. I sat down in front of them, calmly sipping on my favorite juice.

"Oh, really? Then why is Ron eating cake?" Cindy challenged, pointing at Ron who was enjoying a homemade cake.

"So what? That cake isn't from the canteen. It's my grandmother's homemade chocolate cake," Ren explained proudly, her face beaming with confidence. I couldn't help but smile, knowing firsthand that Grandma's cake was unbeatable.

Ron wisely chose not to interrupt their ongoing feud. He knew better than to get in the way when Ren faced her rival head-on.

Cindy rolled her eyes, turning her attention to Ron with a sweet smile. "How about some juice, Ron?" she offered innocently.

"No, thanks," Ron replied, grabbing my hand and breaking his silence. "Let's go get some water, Kel," he suggested, redirecting the conversation away from Cindy's attempts at flirting.

"What about Ren?" I inquired, glancing at my cousin.

"Don't worry about me, Kel. I have to handle this witch," Ren asserted with determination, maintaining her fierce stare at Cindy. I noticed Cindy peering at my hand, which Ron held firmly. A satisfied smirk crept across my face.

"Kel, let's go get this," Ron suggested, pointing to his favorite dessert. I nodded in agreement. "Sure," I responded.

"But I don't have any money left," he admitted, looking at me with puppy eyes. I sighed, realizing that I was his only hope. "Here," I replied, handing him my last remaining money, which he happily accepted. "Ron, I need to go to the bathroom," I informed him, ensuring that he was aware and wouldn't come looking for me. He didn't respond, simply nodding in acknowledgment. Ron was always easily distracted, especially when it came to his favorite dessert.

As I made my way to the bathroom, I noticed Ren approaching me. "Where's Cindy?" I asked, unable to hide my grin. "She lost!" Ren proudly announced. "By the way, where are you headed?" she inquired.

"To the bathroom," I replied, gesturing towards the restroom. Ren nodded and bounded off towards Ron, her steps resembling that of a lively bunny. After all, they were twins, sharing the same fondness for their favorite dessert.

I let out a heavy sigh, entering the bathroom and closing the door behind me. Little did I expect to find Cindy's face accompanied by her three friends, blocking my path.

"Cindy?" I whispered, feeling tired and annoyed as I rolled my eyes at her.

"Hmph! Just because you're close to Ron doesn't mean you can roll your eyes at me!" she snapped angrily. I paid her no mind and attempted to leave the bathroom, only for a boy to push me, causing me to stumble and land on the floor.

"What in the world!?" I exclaimed, shocked by the sudden turn of events. Cindy and her friends burst into laughter, mocking me as my cheeks burned with embarrassment. I clenched my fists, feeling anger swell within me as I stood up. Without hesitation, I pushed Cindy with all my might, causing her to collide against the wall. "Why, you!" Cindy shouted, fury evident in her voice.

Her friends then grabbed hold of me, one of the boys slapping my face hard. I felt the sting on my cheek, my face flushing with heat.

"Four against one? How cowardly!" I shouted, my voice filled with righteous anger. In a moment of desperation, I kicked the boy firmly in a sensitive area. He let out a cry of pain, clutching himself tightly.

I swiftly stomped on the feet of the other two girls, causing them to wince and almost lose their balance. Turning back to Cindy, I saw her sweating and trembling. "Don't you dare lay hands on me! It's against the rules!" she cried out, her voice resembling that of a petulant child.

"You hit me first! It's time for payback!" I shouted, slapping her cheeks twice with force, leaving them rosy and stinging. I couldn't help but chuckle as Cindy slipped and fell to the floor. I then turned to the other two girls and slapped them across their faces, watching them hold their cheeks in pain and tears stream down their faces. Lastly, I faced the boy, who was still cradling his sensitive area.

I grabbed hold of his hair and delivered five hard slaps to his cheeks, making them even redder than Cindy's and the girls'. Dusting off my hands, I prepared to leave, but before I could, the professor entered the room, witnessing the aftermath of the altercation. "What on earth happened here?" he demanded, his gaze fixing on Cindy and her friends. Then his eyes settled on me, disappointment evident in his expression.

"Ms. Ymarez, go to the principal's office immediately," the professor commanded, his tone filled with disappointment. I glanced back at Cindy and her friends, smiling subtly. They stared at me with wide eyes, as if they had seen a monster. That's what they got for hurting a Ymarez!

"I am deeply disappointed in you, Ms. Ymarez. I can't believe you would engage in a fight with the Dean's granddaughter," the principal lectured me. I let out a sigh, feeling frustration welling up within me. "It was she who started the fight. You know very well that I wouldn't harm anyone unless provoked," I explained. The principal shook his head in disbelief, but before he could respond, someone knocked on the door. It swung open, revealing a furious lady with Cindy standing behind her.

"Is this the impudent girl who had the audacity to hit my daughter!?" the woman angrily demanded, pointing directly at me.

"Madam, please take a seat first," the principal calmly urged, motioning for the lady to sit down. Cindy obediently sat beside her mother, avoiding my gaze. "Scared," I whispered under my breath, unable to suppress a giggle.

"What are you giggling about, you impudent and stupid girl!" The lady shouted once again, her anger palpable. "Madam, she's just a child, like your daughter," the principal interjected, attempting to diffuse the tension. "Are you taking her side?" she shot back, glaring at me with discontent.

"That's not what I'm implying, madam," the principal replied, trying to explain his perspective.

"You need to apologize to my daughter immediately! You impudent, poor girl! I have doubts about your upbringing," the lady insisted, her words stinging. I clenched my fists and bit my lower lip, feeling my patience wane. I could no longer hold back.

"Madam, that's quite—" the principal began, only to be interrupted by the furious lady. "Quite what? What are you going to say?" she demanded, her gaze fixed on the principal.

I stood up, staring directly at the lady. "You keep calling me impudent. I don't think you even know how to spell impudent!" I retorted, glaring right back at her. "You're extremely rude! Do you think I can't spell it correctly?" she shot back. "Then spell it!" I exclaimed, my voice louder than hers.

"I M P U D E N T!" she proclaimed with pride. I sat back down, watching her intently. "Hmph!" she grumbled, seemingly satisfied with her response.

I couldn't contain myself and burst out laughing. "I can't believe how unbelievably clueless you are! Like mother, like daughter, I suppose," my laughter echoed through the room as I gazed at her incredulously. She glared at me once again, infuriated by my laughter.

"This girl! I spelled it correctly!" she insisted, her face redder than her daughter's flushed cheeks. I continued to laugh. "Yeah, I know. But I asked you to spell 'it', not 'impudent'. Can't believe you're the daughter of the dean. You must be cursed to the point of being utterly foolish!" I shouted, unable to contain my amusement.

"Ms. Ymarez!" The principal's voice rang out in a reproachful tone.

"This... You!" she seethed, her face filled with rage.

"Ms. Ymarez, that's enough. It's time for you to return to your classroom," the principal interjected, calming down Cindy's mother. I looked at Cindy, who was now covering her face, clearly embarrassed by the situation.

"I apologize, Madam. This is not the typical behavior of Ms. Ymarez. Additionally, she is the top student in our school, which may explain her remarks," the principal addressed the lady as I reached for the doorknob. With a satisfied grin, I left the room.

That's the consequence for involving my parents, who are no longer in this world.
