The meeting was coming to an end.

Suddenly, there was a short, crisp knock at the door.

Come in.

Two people came in.

A well-dressed gentleman, and a cleaner.

Amas Eley

You summoned us ma'am??

Derek Stevenson

Good morning... Ma'am...

Andarte glanced at both of them.

The well-dressed gentleman had a straight spine, whereas, the older man, was slightly slouched.

Andarte Caddle

You are...??

Amas Eley

Amas Eley at your service... It is my pleasure to meet you!!!

Andarte Caddle

He is trying hard to butter up

Andarte thought.

Derek Stevenson

I am Derek... Derek Stevenson...

He stammered.

His eyes went through all of the directors, and finally landed on Andarte.

He quickly looked down.

So... Mr. Stevenson and Mr. Eley... Do you know why you both are summoned here...??

Amas Eley

Of course ma'am!!!

Andarte Caddle

Tell me the reason.

Amas Eley

The hair at my desk was not my fault at all, ma'am!!!

Amas Eley

This filthy sweeper here, didn't clean my desk properly!!!

Derek flinched.

Amas gave a disgusted look to Derek.

Derek stood quietly for a moment and then started sobbing.

Derek Stevenson

I am so sorry ma'am... I have not been getting enough sleep... My only child... My sweet Ella is suffering from leukaemia... I have been beside her, so I am not being productive...

He sobbed again.

Andarte was quiet.

Every single pair of eyes was on Andarte.

Then she spoke up.

Andarte Caddle

Mr. Eley, please get back to your work.

Amas bowed and left.

Andarte Caddle

And... As for you, Mr. Stevenson, ... You are fired.

Derek looked up at Andarte with disbelief in his eyes.

Derek Stevenson

Please don't do this ma'am... I am the only working member in my family... My child will die!!!

He sobbed again.
