(At the evergreen palace) while Hakeem leaning against the railing on the balcony adjusting to his room smoking cigar, lost in his thoughts, his mother walks in and quietly stands beside.)
(he takes a long drag of his cigar and blows a hazy smoke that breezes through the warm air.)
Jenny
I thought I told you to quit smoking isn't good for your health.
(He remains silent.)
Jenny
Hakeem! (she calls out at him with a sharp raised tone.)
Hakeem
What? (he abruptly turns his face to her, frown lines appearing on his forehead.)
Hakeem
When are you going to stop treating me like I am 10?mother.
Hakeem
Can you just let me grow up for once and do my things by myself? No royalty, no fame, no relative... just me.
Hakeem
You just called someone's daughter a hoe...mother.
(he raises his voice at her, pouring his aching heart at her, tears welling up in his eyes.)
Jenny
I won't let you, disgrace the royal family because of your weakness. (she suggests through her bare teeth.)
Jenny
Listening to your mother, is part of you growing. Stop being weak.
(she turns to leave before she could step out of the room,she turns back)
Jenny
your food is getting cold.
( She walks out and slams the door behind her, leaving him fluttering his teary eyelids.)
