I've never felt so utterly helpless before. I thought I was already enduring hell, but it seems the true hell is waiting for me to come and join it.
Her father approached her, intending to pat her head, but she hurriedly took a step back, refusing to let him touch her.

"No, Father; you've already done too much for me," she said as she sat beside Taehyung, avoiding eye contact with her father.
Father of Ivy
"Take care of yourself, my princess," he said, wiping away a tear that slipped from his eye.

She simply rolled her eyes.

"Mr. Mendes, let's go," she said, turning her head to avoid his intense gaze.
He ordered his driver to go. The whole ride was quiet; neither of them dared to say a single word. She was crying silently, which didn't go unnoticed by him.
After reaching the mansion, he made his way out, leaving her alone.

"Why does this gown have to be so heavy?" she mumbled to herself as she made her way toward the mansion.
As she entered the mansion, she saw him seated on a couch like a king, as if he had been waiting for her to arrive.

She gulped hard and hung her head low, feeling a sense of dread wash over her.
Alexios Mendes (ML)
"Sit here," he said coldly, pointing towards the front couch.

She nodded and sat.

"Were you forced to marry me?" he asked, tilting his head.
Ivy Sterling
Her eyes widened at his sudden question, but she couldn't find the words to respond.
Alexios Mendes (ML)
"Don't make me repeat myself," he said coldly, demanding a response from her.
Ivy Sterling
"Yes, I was," she said nervously, finally admitting the truth.
Alexios Mendes (ML)
"Okay, let me tell you one more thing, Ivy. I am the father of two kids. I hope your father didn't tell you," he said bluntly, taking her off guard.
Ivy Sterling
"What?" she almost yelled as she stood up, shocked by the revelation.
Alexios Mendes (ML)
"One more thing, and it's crucial: don't expect anything from me. This marriage is nothing but a burden on me, so don't you dare meddle in my matters. Mind your own business. We'll be like strangers. Do whatever you want, just don't show up in front of me without a specific reason. The maids will show you to your bedroom," he said, his tone demanding, as he made his way towards his bedroom.
As soon as she entered her room, she closed the door and sank to the floor, tears started to stream down her face.

"Why , just why all this happened to me?",she said harshly wiping her lips.

She closed her eyes, and memories flashed through her mind.

"I'm sorry," her voice cracked as she struggled to contain her emotions.

"I have no option , please forget me and move on"
She said, then hung up the call, tears streaming down her face. She pulled at her hair in frustration, feeling helpless by the situation.

"Ivy Sterling! You have to pay for what you did to me. Just wait and watch," he muttered through clenched teeth, his voice dripping with anger and resentment.

She slept while crying.

"Freya, my darling, I don't want to stay here. Please, take me home. I'll take care of myself, I promise," she pleaded, her voice filled with desperation and longing for escape.

"Granny, stop being a kid. We can't take risks. I want you to be healthy and live with me for a long time," she chuckled softly, trying to reassure her grandmother.

"But I hate hospitals",she pouted.

"And I love you, Granny. I can't lose you, so that's the end of the conversation," she said firmly, determined to prioritize her grandmother's health and well-being.

"You need to submit the fees as soon as possible. Her condition is getting worse day by day, and we can't delay the operation any longer," the doctor urged, emphasizing the urgency of the situation.

She was walking, lost in her thoughts, when suddenly she bumped into someone with great force. But before her fragile figure hit the hard floor, a strong pair of arms held her firmly.
Because of the sudden impact, she closed her eyes tightly.

"Are you okay, Miss?" he said in a deep, husky voice, concern evident in his tone.
