Her thoughts were broken by his voice.
He came towards her. His eyes fell on Natalie, and he too looked shocked seeing her there.

He said, and Adella looked at him giving him a mock smile.

He knew she was testing him, and he gave her a 'Don't do this to me' look.
He said, when she didn't budge. Natalie smiled weakly feeling awkward.

He just nodded and then said.

She nodded and went from there getting her clue. Adella too was going behind her when he held her hand and pulled her into his chest.

He was trying to explain to her desperately. He didn't want any other misunderstandings between them. He was already bearing the consequences of one.
He kept looking into her eyes to find trust for him,
And he smiled when he did.
He kissed her cheek and went out intertwining his hand with hers.
Adella trusted him. She knew he wasn't lying. She had seen the shock in his eyes when he saw her here. She knew he didn't love her or even like her in that sense anymore.
The same night when everyone had left for their homes Adella and Laurence sat with his parents in the living room.

His mother said passing an envelope to Adella. She frowned and looked at her who smiled and asked her to open it.
She opened the envelope and found two tickets to Paris.

Mom there is no need for this. It's your anniversary, In fact you two should go.
She said passing the tickets to her mother-in-law who passed it back to Laurence.

No! You both are newly-wed. Go enjoy. And if you want to give us an anniversary gift, then give us good news.
She teased them making Adella red in shyness. Even though she was angry at him, but she still loved him and just thinking about having a baby with Laurence made her face red.
She heard her mother-in-law's laughter and looked at her.

I'm kidding! Just enjoy your married life. Kids will happen eventually. Take it as a return gift from us.
Adella looked at Laurence through her lashes and found him grinning widely. He looked at her making her look away and rubbed his neck sheepishly.
The following week went by in packing and shopping. Adella was really excited to visit Paris and Laurence was happy to see her happy.
Time passed in a blink, and they were now standing at the Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport.
Adella was beaming with happiness and yelling Bonjour to everyone around, earning weird looks in return.
Laurence chuckled and pulled her along by putting an arm around her shoulder.
They checked into their hotel room and freshened up. As Laurence came out after freshening up he saw Adella beaming at him.
She exclaimed excitedly picking up her phone, and bag and he frowned.
He looked at the time and asked.
She nodded widely and said.

Yes, Now. Look how beautiful it looks.
She said pointing towards the Eiffel Tower that was visible through their room's window.

Then see it from here only.
Her smile faltered and she glared at him.

Are you coming or not?
Laurence Lin
Yes let's go. When did I say no.
He smiled sweetly and she smiled widely.
They were standing in front of the Eiffel Tower and his wife was admiring it as if it was something so unique.

(What was so special about this stupid Tower. Other monuments are also beautiful and unique.)
He looked around to find something fun to do while his wife admired the Tower.

Adella! Wait here. I'll get croissants for us.
He said and went to get them from a nearby shop. Adella who was so busy in the Tower did not hear him.
It was after some time when she looked around and saw herself alone she realized he wasn't there.
Her expressions changed from happiness to panic to fear.
She looked for him frantically moving her eyes around.
She was scared. She was alone here in an unknown place between unknown people.
Laurence came back with freshly baked croissants packed and saw her looking around with a scared expression.
He called her name and she looked at him wide eyed. The next moment she hugged him tightly and hid her face in his chest as tears fell her eyes.

Where did you go? Leaving me alone here.
He held her close and said.

I went to buy these Corrasisnts after informing you
He said but she was far from listening. She just hugged him as if her life depended on him.
He held her and started walking to their hotel. She didn't realize when they entered their room.
He kept the box of croissants on the table and held her.

Hey! I am sorry! Look at me now. Sorry!
He said cupping her cheeks and she sniffed wiping her tears.
She rubbed her cheek on his chest as a way of accepting his apology and he smiled.

He said after some time, and she shook her head.
He shook his head and said.

I am sorry. For everything. For hurting you and for speaking that nonsense. I was so excited to see everyone after so long but when I returned I was met with Lance's... It broke me and the fact that the last thing he wrote in his diary was about you triggered something in me. My brain stopped working. I am sorry Adella. Please forgive me.
He said resting his forehead on her.

I forgive you Laurence.
She whispered and he looked at her with wide eyes.
He asked and she nodded with a shy smile. He beamed happily and kissed her cheek loudly.
She looked at him wide eyed while her cheeks got red and he rubbed his neck sheepishly.
She bit her lip and quickly pecked his lips making him look at her shocked.
He looked at her for a full minute making her shy under his intense gaze.
The next they knew he went closer to her and fused his lips with hers kissing her softly.

I think I am the only one who remembered ML saying adultery is a crime....Even for revenge he married her....If not for his girlfriend demanding breakup,they might be still in relationship....hahahha such a fabulous ML
