Maxon is Emerson's best friend and one of his trusted guards. He is Emerson's right-hand man, and often has to handle many annoying tasks, just like this one.

Emerson gave Maxon the responsibility of taking care of the girl, as he never disappoints Bella. It ruined Maxon's mood because he also wanted rest after a tiresome day.

Maxon entered the room where the girl was admitted and found her already awake. She appeared scared yet innocent at the same time. What amazed him the most was her beauty.

Seeing Maxon, she became visibly scared, covering herself and her eyes starting to well up with tears out of fear.

Initially, Maxon tried to communicate with her patiently, but she continued crying and avoiding him, even when he stood at a great distance. Despite his efforts, she was too scared to utter a word. Eventually, Maxon lost his patience and shouted at her.

After a frustrating day at the office, Maxon had no mood to play games of patience with a random stranger.

Despite being amazed by her beauty, Maxon was not someone who could easily be swayed by outward appearances. He admitted that he was momentarily affected by her, but quickly collected himself and returned to normal.

Her voice was soothing to Maxon's ears, resembling a calming melody. Despite looking scared after his shout, her tears showed no sign of stopping, and it began to affect Maxon. It became a pity for the girl, nothing more.

In the meantime, a doctor entered the room and began examining Valencia again. Maxon noticed how she tried to avoid the doctor's touch, even though the doctor was female. The doctor then took Maxon outside the room to have a few words.

The doctor informed Maxon that Valencia had been physically abused for several months, as the marks appeared to be both old and fresh. It seemed more like a case of domestic violence.

It seems I need to find out more about this girl. Whether it's a coincidence or not that she fainted in front of Emerson's car, I'll handle the situation personally if needed.
