SC. 5 ) HARU Caught ARUNA In The Forbidden Library

[SCENE START]

INT. LUNA'S ROYAL MANOR'S LIBRARY - NIGHT

.

Sunbeams, reflected by the planet Earth, dance through clean panes, illuminating softly the slumbering Royal Manor's Library. Fresh shelves, giants in warm light, groan under the weight of untold stories. The air kisses the scent of aged ink, whispering forgotten tales. In this hushed sanctuary, time stands still and history echoes from every shadowed corner.

ARUNA stands deep within the library's forbidden heart, a mausoleum of knowledge, guarded by ancient despairs.

.

"Where is it?" ARUNA whispers to herself, her voice barely audible. She raises her head and carefully navigates the shelves, reading each plate in a low voice.

.

"Lunar History, Solar Politics, Lunar Economy, Interorbital Relations, Lunar Military Service...", she stops walking. Lunar Military Service Records. Found it...

.

Earthlight bleeds through a barred window, it casts the towering shelves in grotesque shadows. She starts searching again, this time for the right records book.

.

"Veterans Affairs, Currencies Transactions, Warfare Military Personnel, Official Military Personnel Files..." she whispers, scanning each title.

.

"There it is..." she says, picking up the right book. Official Military Personnel Files.

.

"The index is..." Flipping through the book in search of the index page, she stops abruptly. A sudden voice booms from behind her.

.

"Got lost in between the books, child?" She freezes, taken off guard. Damn it...

.

ARUNA slowly whirls around. Her eyes widen as they meet the gaze of a mighty man. An older towering and imposing male figure. Is he...?

.

"Who are you?" she asks. Her voice slightly trembling, but she keeps her composure. He may not be...

.

"Who are you, child..." he counters. A hint of amusement in his voice. ...A royal guard.

.

"Don't play games," ARUNA demands. She narrows her eyes. "Who are you?" Who did I...

.

"Am I too handsome to only get stared at, instead of receiving an answer?" he chuckles a deep rumble that reverberates in the library.  ...get caught by?

.

"Get lost, old man..." ARUNA snaps. She focuses her attention again on the book's index but can't. It seems that...

.

"Old man?" He feigns, in disbelief. "You just called me an old man?" ...somebody wants company.

.

"Isn't that what you are?" she innocently asks, pissed off. He throws his head back and laughs, the sound echoing through the silent library. Who is he...

.

"Much younger than you think, child." ARUNA glares at him. ...exactly?

.

"Then, who are you?" ARUNA presses, trying to regain control of the situation. He pauses, studying her with an unreadable expression. Finally,...

.

"You don't need to know." he becomes serious. She sighs. ...there's peace.

.

"Fine," Her voice gains confidence. "old man" she smirks, "...or should I call you older brother?."

.

He remains silent. His gaze lingers on her petite figure, attempting to project arrogance.

.

"If you can't..." ARUNA starts, but he cuts her off, gently pushing her against the shelf. "If I can't, what?" he asks, a smirk slowly forming on his lips. "If you can't ans..." His face leans closer, silencing her once-firm voice.

.

"You're just a little girl..." he says gently, patting her head with his palm.

.

"I..." ARUNA stammers. A sudden voice calls out from the library entrance. Damn...

.

"Is someone there?" a royal guard inquires from the door.

.

Silence.

.

"Come here," ARUNA hisses the old brother's figure, grabbing his arm and pulling him towards a hidden alcove.

.

"Turn back, lunar child," he warns her with a calm low tone of voice, resisting her attempt to drag him. "This knowledge isn't...", but he can't even finish his sentence he gets tugged by ARUNA. "...meant for you," he whispers. She puts a finger over his lips, in an attempt to silence him.

.

"Have you found anything?" another guard asks, arriving at the door. The guard at the entrance shakes his head.

.

"You know I could eat you right now in this position?" the old brother whispers to ARUNA's ear. He leans back staring at her red face and a playful glint appears in his eyes.

.

"Let's go now, somebody reported His Highness will be in the Lunar Land at dawn and they urgently need some more personnel!" The guards start to head away.

.

"Then eat me later," she whispers back. "Now..." she puts her whole palm on his lips, while she keeps focused, being sure the guards are leaving. "...shut up" she ends resolutely. His eyes intensifies.

.

As the guards' voices fade down the hallway, ARUNA and the man are left alone once again.

.

"I'll note the thing you promised for later," he whispers in ARUNA's ear, sending a shiver down her spine. "And by the way, you can just call me Haru." He winks and slips out of the alcove.

.

"Be a good child, and put back in order what you've picked up," he says over his shoulder, a smirk lingering on his face as he walks away.

.

Ignoring HARU, ARUNA focuses her attention on the records book of Official Military Personnel Files that was in her hands this entire time.

.

"Veterans Affairs" She reads the title on the book cover and takes a deep breath.  "This old man..."

.
