Chapter 4: Past Love

“Mia, Long time no see” Mia turned to see a guy with black short hair standing behind her, her face changed in seeing him there.

”Nathan I didn’t expect you to be back” she said looking down at the ground

”Violet is my sister of course I came back”

”What do you want from me?”

”Let’s get back together” Mia smirked in disgust

“Are you serious after everything you put me through? No go fuck your self” she said as she left

“Mia I still love you” Nathan said taking her hand

“Get the hell away from me” Mia said taking her hand back, Nathan looked mad at her answer

”Bitch you’re lucky”

”Should I be happy?” Mia said to him, Nathan raised his hand to slap her as Mia closed her eyes expecting a hot slap, Hyun caught his hand before he could touch her. Nathan looked at him with confusion

”Leave my tour guide alone” he said squeezing his arm, Nathan started to crumble with pain and Hyun let go

”Now get lost” Nathan took his injured arm and walked away from Hyun and Mia

“Thank you again”

”I was only acting a scene from what you humans call Tv, it’s not resourceful to watch” Hyun explained

“Still thanks” Mia started to head for class on the way a shiver went up her spine as she thought about Nathan. Nathan was Mia’s ex-boyfriend and their past relationship was awful since Violet was his sister. Mia was a freshman and he was junior, she did have a crush on him but what girl didn’t at the time. One day Mia stayed late to clean the class and sleeping on his desk was Nathan, thinking he was asleep Mia whispered

“I like you” in his ear and went to work Nathan woke up and looked at her

“Me too” those words made Mia dropped her broom in hearing those words and within the next week they started dating. Max was against it of course saying he was a player but Mia didn’t care someone actually loved her for her and it was all too good to be true. That feeling soon died out and Mia started suspecting Nathan of cheating at first he stopped being free and then he ignored her existence completely so she snuck to one of Violet’s parties only to find him making out with a girl,Mia ran home and locked her room. She didn’t go to school or come out for a week and all she did was cry. When she heard that Violet and Nathan went on a trip and wouldn’t be back for a while she went back and her life was peaceful till now.

”Mia!” Max said snapping her back to reality

”He was there ,wasn’t he?” He asked knowing what she was thinking about

”Yeah he’s back” Anger fueled in Max after hearing that He hated Nathan for breaking her and even worse he had a crush on her while they were dating. he wanted to beat him up and bring the pieces back to Mia in a silver plate

“Max finish and stop day dreaming, Hyun has already finished” Max looked at Hyun who smiled at him. Hyun sat waiting for the bell since there wasn’t much for him to do he scanned Mia’s emotions and found out she was sad and broken. Hyun smiled to himself seeing another pair of weird emotions coming from her, Hyun wanted to help for some reason but his Polkan way was telling him not but maybe it was time he did something human.Hyun looked at Mia’s empty hand that sat on the desk, he looked at his and went for Mia’s, his soft palms made Mia look up at him from her test paper. She didn’t want to let go cause it was something she needed she continued with her paper. Max saw all this with his mouth wide open

(Why??!!?!!) he asked himself

(What does he have that I don’t?!?!) he was literally confused on what Mia wanted. The finale bell rang and everyone started for home

”Ready?” Max asked Mia

“Sorry Max” she said sadly knowing she can’t Max knowing about Hyun

”What?” He asked confused

“You can’t walk me home today”

“But we also walk together, what makes today different?”

”Hyun is taking me home” His face changed hearing Hyun’s name, this guy was changing everything why was he getting all the attention

“Fine” Max walked away from Mia with a sad look on his face, he watched his feet carry him home. He remembered when he found out he liked Mia, Back in freshman year they had just gotten to high school and he came back from December holidays. He watched her black hair walk into class at first Max didn’t recognize her cause she had changed so much but now she was more beautiful than ever.

”Max!”she yelled at the door of the class and he felt his heart pumping faster everyday they were together whether it was walking home together or taking her to school no matter what he loved but couldn’t tell her.He knew every secret, heart break, crush and dream she had and they were locked away in his heart, he wanted to spend his whole life with her but Hyun came and stole his thunder

(Maybe it’s time I fought for her)

Mia held the straps to her backpack as they walked home and this gave time for Hyun to ask questions

“Who was that boy?” He asked about Nathan

”Oh that’s Nathan”

”He isn’t your friend because his emotions were violent so what is he to you?”

”He’s my ex-boyfriend”

”Ex-boyfriend? What does that mean?”

“It means we had a relationship together, you know a love relationship”

”Love? What is love?”

”Love is an emotion when your heart beats fast for someone, you want to cry and comfor them when they’re sad and laugh when they’re happy”

”You humans have weird emotions, Polkans don’t laugh or love we do our duty instead of wasting time like you Humans”
