Detective Inoe was all alone in his office at the station, looking over some important files when the phone in the office rang. He sighed, laying down the papers in hand on the desk and moving to pick up the phone.
“Who could it be at this hour”, he muttered removing his glasses and rubbing between his eyes while picking up the phone and putting it in his ear.
“Hello, Detective Inoe speaking”, he spoke into the phone. “How can I help you?”
“Yes, goodnight detective, sorry to bother you this late but I’ve got a pest problem”, the voice on the other side was husky, deep and had an annoyed growl to it. It made the detective shiver on spot, especially when he noticed the thick German accent. ‘Shit, someone must have really pissed him off’.
“That’s alright sir but I’m afraid you called the wrong place. We don’t do pest.” Detective Inoe almost laughed at that. ‘Like come on, who calls a police station to deal with pest’. ‘On less he’s referring to someone’.
‘Oh **** me, why am I so stupid sometimes’ the detective thought.
“Sorry detective, I can’t do that and I wouldn’t know why you’re so stupid sometimes” the guy sounded slightly amused but mainly bored. “So as I was saying before, come to the address I give you and get rid of that pest before I get rid of it myself”, he spat angrily. ‘What crawled up his *** and died?’ the detective thought when the line went dead.
When the detective arrived at the location the address pointed out, car parked to the side of the road and standing in front of the giant haunted looking rot Iron Gate, he realized that he forgot to take the name of the caller for the records.
He shrugged his shoulders and pushed the large gate open, taking a step inside.
Taking in his surrounding carefully and continuing on towards the large wooden doors, all the while wondering if this place belonged to the same guy that reported the pest problem and what could possibly be so wrong that he had to lay out such a threat.
He shivered. Damn this place is creepy.
When the detective pulled open one side of the double doors he expected to see a group of wild kid doing illegal shit or hell, maybe even actual pest as that rude a**hole on the phone mentioned before; not a body of a young boy, maybe in his early twenties, lying unconscious on the ground near the door.
He came to a crouch near the boy and lightly tapped his cheek. He could see that the boy had a bloody nose that looked to him like it was broken and he had a purple bruise forming on his forehead.
What a shame and he has such a pretty face too.
“Hey kid”, he tapped the boy’s cheek again when he got no response the first time.
The detective rested his flashlight on the ground next to them and straddled the young boy’s waist. ‘Don’t get the wrong idea’; he muttered properly to reassure himself ‘this isn’t what you think it is’.
It’s been such a long time since he’s been in such a position. Just thinking about what could happen in such a position had him all hot and bothered, even at the age of 34.
He shaked his head to be rid of all those unnecessary thoughts and placed all his focus on the young boy beneath him. He looked like he started having a nightmare; he was sweating even though it was cold out and he was muttering lowly while his lean body trembled harshly.
“It’s not true”, was what he was saying when the detective lowered his body so that his ears was closer to the boys plump and blooded lips. He repeated that several times and the detective couldn’t help but wonder what was not true but he didn’t ponder on it for too long as realization dawned on him. He couldn’t tell before but now that he’s got a closer look, he can see that this is the same boy that was the boyfriend of the young girl that disappeared five years ago.
The case was closed off because there were no leads to go on.
He sat up, in his detective mode now. All heated feelings gone now and looked around, it was dark inside the building which was obvious. This place was clearly private property, so that leaves the important question.
How did such a young fellow get in here and why was he in here on private property in the first instance.
Doesn’t seem like the type of kid to break rules and do illegal shit. Even though, only one way to find out.
Looking back at the boy he was sitting on, the detective not wasting any more time slapped both the boy’s cheeks at the same time and he awoke with a start.
Deep brown eyes snapping open and locking with the detective’s hazel coloured ones, had detective Inoe’s breath catching in his trought and heart skipping a beat.
What was that…………..?
