Love Me
It was the night of August 24, 3002, the full moon casting its ethereal glow across the silent halls of the operation ward. In the quietude, a woman cradled the precious weight of new life in her arms. With the delivery complete, mother and child were moved to a private room.
A nurse stepped out, calling forth a figure patiently waiting just beyond the operation room doors. A woman of sixty, her eyes held a delicate blend of hope, tears, and indescribable joy. The nurse gently placed the newborn in her arms, and as the woman held her granddaughter, the infant's eyes met those of Mrs. Emma William. A smile graced Mrs. Emma's face, and a sweet symphony of giggles escaped the tiny bundle.
Tears welled in Mrs. Emma's eyes as she marveled at the miniature miracle- small, delicate, akin to a kitten. The baby possessed light brown eyes, a limbal ring reminiscent of her mother, a face rounded like the moon, little hands, and tiny feet. Mrs.Emma's gaze then shifted to her daughter-in-law, Aurora, resting wearily on the bed.She gently patted Aurora's hand, placing the giggling baby in a bassinet.
As the infant continued to giggle, she turned her happy gaze toward her grandmother.
Mrs. Emma, in turn, gazed lovingly at the little one. The tranquility was soon disrupted by the baby's hungry cries. Aurora, stirred by her child's voice, awoke. Despite the pain in her stomach, she attempted to rise, letting out a soft "ahh.
Witnessing Aurora's discomfort, Mrs. Emma swiftly retrieved the baby and carefully handed her over. The nurse entered the room just in time, addressing Mrs. Emma's concern about the crying infant. "Hungry, probably," the nurse remarked. Aurora smiled down at her baby, soothing her hunger through breastfeeding. The room settled into calm once more.
Aurora's eyes met Mrs. Emma's, who, with a warm smile, inquired about her well-being and any lingering pain. Aurora assured her, "No pain, Mom, I'm fine." Yet, a question lingered in Aurora's eyes--about him. Mrs. Emma lowered her gaze and admitted, "Not yet." Aurora, concealing her disappointment with a smile, sighed and looked at her baby.
Observing this, Mrs. Emma gently patted Aurora's hand and asked, "My child, have you thought about the baby's name?" Aurora, her eyes on the baby, replied, "Yes." Mrs.
Emma's curiosity peaked, "What is it?" Aurora's smile widened as she uttered the name, "Luna."
As the moon hung high in the night sky, bathing the room in its soft glow, three generations shared a moment a moment where hope, joy, and the promise of new beginnings intertwined. The journey of a family had just begun, and in the quiet embrace of the night, love echoed through the ages, a timeless melody that would resonate in their hearts for years to come.
