The morning before the end

XX DAY, XX MONTH, XX YEAR

TOKYO, JAPAN

It was a bright morning, the little sparrows were chirping outside her bedroom window, at it seemed like a perfectly good day. Except for her, since it meant that she would have to live another day in hell.

Saya: “Uughh! I woke up again.”

She slowly opened her eyes and groaned in pain. Her body ached all over, but she was already used to it, she sat at the border of her bed and looked at her bruised legs and arms. There were several scars and cut all over her body. She sighed at the thought of knowing she would probably get new bruises today. She stood up, slowly and carefully, and went to take a shower, then she bandaged most of her injuries and dressed up for school. She usually wore black stockings and her sweater all year around, even in summer, since it helped cover all her bruises and cuts. After she took her bag, passed very quietly and carefully by the living room, where her father was passed out drunk in the sofa, and exited the house.

It took a fifteen-minute walk from her house to school, she was always the first to enter her class. She left her bag in her desk, which was in the far-end corner near the window, and went to the storage locker in the other corner of the class, which had cleaning supplies. Took the bucket and a piece of cloth, filled the bucket with water and started to clean her desk. DIE!! SLUT!! UGLY! DJE ALREADY!! STUPID!! *****!.... This was a daily rutine.

After she was done cleaning, she sag in her desk and stared outside the window, she could see the mob of students arriving to school now. BAM! Her head had hit her desk with extreme force and she could hear the laughter behind her.

“Hahaha! It’s really amusing that you still have the audacity to come every day. Don’t you already know that an eyesore like you shouldn’t be allowed in here. Ha! Better yet, not allowed to live!” This voice belongs to Kaede Nomura, the prettiest and top-student of the class, leader of the bullying ever since middle-school. Since their first meeting, she had always gone against Saya, and would bully her relentlessly.

“Yeah! Who gave permission to this lowly thing to keep on living.” Said Ai Kobayashi, class-rep and Kaede’s childhood friend. Always followed Kaede around and did what she ordered.

“You should do everyone a favor and just disappear already.” Sneered Mai Kitaura, second prettiest girl in class and Saya’s distant relative. Always studied together, even before middle-school, and first to start the bullying against Saya. Seemes to have a big grudge against her and she is the one who plans all the ways to bully and abuse of Saya.

Saya’s head was spinning and hurt, but she did nothing, no reply, no sound, nothing. She was already used to how they treated her, nothing new. They all had been studying together since middle-school, and they had always treated her the same. They were even involve in the staircase incident and THAT other one.

Kaede lifted Saya’s head, “Why aren’t you answering, huh? Are you so stupid that you can’t even talk?” The other two sneered and giggled. Then when they got no answer, Kaede, feustrated, banged Saya’s head against the desk once more and said, “Tch! It seems like you really are stupid! Can’t even answer.”

RIIIIIINNNNGGGGGG! The bell for the classes to rtart rang and in came the teacher. Everyone headed to their seats and the class started. Saya didn’t really pay attention and looked outside the window the entire time. She looked at the clouds and the buildings from afar. She had a bit of a headache, from that incident, but wasn’t bleeding so it was fine. She looked at the tallest building of the bunch and stared at it with a blank mind, and then something caught her eye. She saw smoke rising from behind the building and it kept getting more noticeable. A fire? How weird. Saya tilted her head and then she noticed that that wasn’t the only trail of smoke, there were other tails of smoke appearing all over the city. She suddenly felt a chill go through her back and she knew something was amiss. She suddenly had a really bad hunch and became anxiuos, and weirdly she started to grin, she was really excited for some reason.

KABOOM! BANG! A sudden explosion had taken place in the city. Everyone in the class heard it and looked through the window outside to see what happened. They were startled to see fire and smoke coming from the buildings and their faces started to show panik and fear. Saya suddenly started to look through her bad and pulled out a thin and small brief case and hugged it tightly. This was a present from that person. She had never actually used it’s contents, but for some reason she suddenly felt like she would soon have too.
