Open For Business
Jenna sat down on her desk chair, glancing at the furniture around her. She had finally settled in her new office in the company. After the sudden death of her parents, she had agreed to take over the company alongside her older brother. Both were still very young in the business world, but more than qualified to run the company. Jenna and Johnny had shadowed their parents since they were young, allowing their parents since they were young, allowing them to have enough knowledge to fast-track their business degrees. There was no better replacements for the company than those two.
They had decided to leave their parents' offices vacant for a year, as a sign of respect. As the new year rolled around, they decided that it was time to move on, moving into the old offices.
Jenna felt weird, sitting in the seat that was once her mother's. As her eyes scrolled around the room, they landed on a magazine sitting on the coffee table located in between the two couches, all in she analyzed it, she realized it was the first magazine their family's fashion brand was published in. She smiled as she walked back over to her desk, placing the magazine in her drawer.
Jenna suddenly heard her intercom buzz.
"Hi mark, what is it?" She spoke into the microphone. Mark Lee, Jenna and Johnny's assistant. The boy was two years younger than Jenna, but had been an intern with the company back when their parents were leading it. After working closely with the pair of siblings, Mark was perfect choice when it came to finding an assistant.
"I think your brother wants to come by your office, is that okay?" Jenna smiled at the question.
"Of course, it is, Mark. Also, it's getting late, head home. Johnny and I will lock up". Jenna replied back to him.
"Okay, thank you!" Mark said before the line disconnected. Jenna looked up as the door to her office opened up.
"You could at least knock". Jenna said, leaning back in her chair as her brother walked in, taking a seat on one of the couches.
"Nah, didn't feel like it" Johnny replied back with a smirk. He looked around the familiar office.
"You changed it up a bit". Johnny pointed out
"Yeah, mom always liked bright colours but you know I prefer neutral tones". Jenna replied
"We have a meeting with one of the vice-presidents if Jeong Enterprises tomorrow. They want to talk about their investments with our company". Johnny opened his mouth as if he wanted to say more but later decided against it.
"I know, Mark already reminded me about it". Jenna said, getting up to walk towards the long cabinets along the wall. As she walked, her heels clicked along the floor tiles. She opened up one section, revealing a closet space. She grabbed her coat, putting it on. Johnny simply watched her movements.
"Let's head home. I'm getting tired". Jenna told him. Johnny nodded before following his sister out of the office.
...
Jenna sat in the meeting room, reviewing the documents for the meeting with Jeong Enterprises. Mark was sitting next to her, his tablet out to assist with any concern she might have.
Jenna's parents started the fashion company when Johnny and Jenna were small children. The company was named JJ SEO, the first two letters representing the sibling's first names. First a small boutique at the end of a street, the company soon grew, now a worldwide brand well known to all.
Jenna glanced at the watch on her wrist, checking the time.
"Where's Johnny?" Jenna asked Mark. Mark hesitated for a moment before answering her question.
"He's at the front desk, he wanted to meet the representative first before bringing him here". Mark told her. Jenna simply shook her head.
"Why does Johnny have such ridiculous ideas?" Jenna said, getting up to make her way to the front desk of the floor. As she got closer, she was able to make out of the form of her brother. She quickly noticed another familiar form beside him, laughing over a joke Johnny had said. As the two men heard Jenna's heels approaching they turned their heads towards her.
"Jenna, this is Jaeyhun, the representative from Jeong Enterprises. You remember him right? My bestfriend from America". Johnny said, giving her a bright smile. Jaeyhun simply stared, checking her out from head to toe, clearly enjoying the view. Jenna gulped before responding.
"Yes of course I remember him. Come on in Jaeyhun, we have lots to discuss".
