If only I did the same when I saw my parents arguing. But even at such a small age of around 10, I was thinking about the consequences. I could only think about what possible negative outcomes would come from me doing that. I thought "If I go up to them crying and tell them not to fight, they might get into a bigger argument." An argument because their child saw their argument and was crying. I thought they would blame each other for my crying and scared state. I don't even know how I was having such thoughts at that age, when clearly, it was my first time seeing them argue. And sadly, even today, even if I was able to go back in time, I don't think I can stand up for them. It just hurts so badly whenever I remember those memories. Can't I just forget those small arguments now that I know arguments are normal in relationships? Why do those memories still come back and hurt me even after I accepted the fact about arguments between couples?
