Chapter 5

Next day Shatak wake up from sleep at 7 am. Today is Sunday so he got up late. He did his morning routine and make breakfast for them. They did their breakfast. After breakfast Riya went to watch TV. Shatak started cleaning the dishes. Riya was changing channels on TV but suddenly, she saw a person on a news channel. She immediately call Shatak loudly "Bhaiya, come here, see who is on TV."

Due to her loud voice Shatak rush out from the kitchen and asked "What happened Riya, are you okay?"

Riya said "Yes, bhaiya I'm fine but look at the TV ."

Shatak looks on TV screen and what he watched made him shocked. He can't believe his own eyes what he just saw. But he have to believe it because the breaking news is written exclusively every channels he saw.

Shatak body is getting numb from the news but still he managed himself and said to Riya

"Riya, you didn't do any homework yesterday night. Now go and do your homework."

Riya protests "I will do it later, bhaiya." But Shatak didn't listen to her request at last she had to agree.

After Riya leaves Shatak sit on the couch and started to watch news.

On the news "Breaking News, Famous advocate Rajveer Kapoor found dead on his apartment in this morning. He was stabbed by knife on his stomach. Police reveal that it was intentional murder because there is no evidence for robbery or any damage. Police also revealed that the murder was committed last night."

Shatak switch off the TV and and started thinking "Yesterday I met Mr. Kapoor and today I know that he is dead, not just dead but murdered. Is it just a coincidence? If before yesterday I watched the news maybe I would have never paid any attention. I don't know anything about Mr. Kapoor . All I had known about his name and occupation but yesterday what he told about my father's accident that it was intentional and he didn't want to reveal anything other than giving my father's diary to me. Wait a minute, Dad's diary was with him all this time and also worked with dad that means he might know the killer. If this is the case , then I have to read the diary. But what should I do if I know the killer? Can I give punishment to his deed? I don't what to do? Why my life becomes a mess day by day."

He is lost in his thoughts that he didn't realise it got 10 o'clock . Riya comes to hall after doing her homework and saw Shatak is still sitting there . She comes near him and asked

"Bhaiya can I watch TV now ?"

Shatak come to his senses and said "What...ohh..yes you can."

Riya started to watch her favourite cartoon on TV. Shatak also leaves from there and started to make lunch for them. After they did their lunch, they spends their time watching movies, playing games.

Riya got tired so she went to sleep in her room. Shatak have nothing to do so he decided to read his father's diary. So he also went to his room.

Few minutes later Shatak is sitting on his study table and started to read the diary. He flips through the first page. There was written something which make him startled.

In the diary.... My dear son, Shatak,

If you are reading this that's mean I Advocate Kabir Verma no longer in this world. I know you will think I am selfish person that's why I didn't think about you and Riya. For me, family is very important but I also love my work. It makes me happy when good people get justice and bad or evil people get punishment for their deeds. So if I die for justice, then I will have no regrets.

I know I didn't do much for you but I know after me you take good care of your mom and Riya. You are young but very mature by your age. I always feel proud of you my son.

I never want you to know about this cruel world but sometimes for our own safety we have to know the truth. Shatak always a thing remember that no one in this world is trustable. You never know people intention behind their kindness. They make you feel that they are very kind. But they are just doing it for their own benefits.

Shatak can't believe what he just read. His father knew that he will going to be killed. He made such a diary for him before his death. And don't have any idea about this. Which makes him feel guilty. He is ashamed on himself. He thought he is just a bad son who didn't do anything for his father but still his was proud on him.

But the question is who killed his parents and why. And in the diary how his father saying everything feel like he wants to warn me from someone. I should read further that way I know everything. He starts thinking for a brief moment, and again started to read the diary.

In the diary...... I am going to tell you very big task of my life. It's not for me , it's for our nation's safety. I got some evidence of illegal works like drugs, human trafficking and many more.And I want to reveal them who is behind this . It's may cause my life but still I want reveal that person. He is very dangerous person. So, I can't take the risk to reveal him. That's why I put all the evidence in a secret place. I can't tell you that place because I don't want anyone to know about this. You have to find yourself. You know my secret place where I keep my all important documents.

Shatak reads the diary all evening. After finishing the diary he don't have any mood to make dinner, nor eating. He can starved himself but Riya have to eat and take her medicine. So, that night he ordered for them online. That's made Riya happy. He don't want to eatanything but at Riya's force he eats some.

After their dinner, they went to their respective room. Shatak felt very tired but he can't sleep. He felt betrayed. What he reads in the diary he don't want to believe that but he have to believe. Because it's his father's word. He knows, his father never put blame on an innocent person. His father is not like this. He never thought that behind his parents accident there was a intention. And he knows this person . He was emerged in his thoughts that he didn't realise, he slept.
