Episode 4

I was already in my sixth semester, having been in a relationship with Steven for two months now. I can't say that I love him, but I do like him a lot. He treats me well, though he hasn't wanted to make our relationship public. He says his family might interfere because of our different social classes. If only he knew that my fortune is incomparable to his. But that's something I can't yet reveal to him.

I was with Lucretia in the cafeteria when a commotion caught our attention. What my eyes saw, I literally couldn't believe—a girl I had never seen before was grabbing a scholarship student by the hair, threw her to the ground, and as she was about to strike her, I grabbed her hand mid-air, stopping her. The girl turned to slap me, but my friend, summoning bravery I didn't know she had, pushed her so hard she fell. Infuriated, she threatened to get us expelled from university, claiming that no one messes with her, before storming off hysterically.

In the economics classroom, our teacher wanted to introduce us to an exchange student from Italy, the daughter of a well-known businessman. I had a hunch about who it might be. And then she walked in—the girl from the cafeteria altercation—and introduced herself with an air of superiority as Fernanda Rocuso, daughter of Italian businessman Donato Rocuso. I couldn't believe what I was hearing; the daughter of the man who had disturbed the peace of my family was right in front of me. All I could do was leave the classroom to absorb the shock, fearing her presence here could lead her father straight to us, and I hadn't even finished my degree yet.

Days earlier.

I was having the best sex of my life in the university classroom in Italy when the door flew open and in walked my father, accompanied by the university director. I was startled, not because it was the first time my father saw me in such a situation, but because I had already been threatened with expulsion for having sex with boys anywhere in the university. My suspicions were correct; my mother grabbed me by the arm, dragged me to the director's office, where my father announced he was sending me off to Harvard. He said I needed to get serious or we could lose everything.

When I arrived back at the mansion, my father threatened to send me to live with my mother if I continued my reckless lifestyle. Living as poor as her was not an option for me. So, without further ado, I began packing my bags. I called Leonel, my new boyfriend, to tell him I was going to study at Harvard because I wanted to be worthy of him. I met Leonel in a nightclub; the sex was otherworldly, and I took his number. I was even more pleased when I found out who he was—that he had been engaged to that stupid deceased Camila. Although he’s a very powerful man, I’m not sure if he’s serious about me. For the moment, I’ll show him that I am the perfect woman for him, until he marries me. Because I will have that man as my husband; I want everything that wretched woman had, even in death, I can't stop hating her for having been better than me since we were children.

Upon arriving at Harvard, some idiot tripped me and spilled my lemonade. Furious, I threw her to the ground. Just as I was about to slap her, some meddler stopped my hand. With my other free hand, I intended to hit her, but another madwoman pushed me down, resulting in a hard fall and much mockery. I stormed off to my room in a rage; those fools would pay. I would find a way to exact my revenge. The next day, I was introduced to the others with pride. I mentioned my father, so they'd all know I was powerful. Despite the multitude of wealthy people here, I wouldn't be intimidated. At one point, I saw her—the girl who had put me in a ridiculous position so she also studies business administration. Ha! What a joke, she clearly doesn't wear designer clothes. Probably just another one of the many worthless scholarship students here. As I was exploring the campus, I saw a quite handsome guy talking to that wench whose name I still don't know.
