"Shards of the Heart" part I

In Arya's room, a vase that had sat barren and empty for days now held blooming roses today. Among these blooms, she carefully selected the most exquisite rose and placed it delicately on a separate table.

Her mood was particularly bright today, as if she was gearing up to do something special.

The fragrance of roses spread throughout her room, and a glimpse of them remained on her cheeks as she smiled from the heart.

With a soft hum, she retrieved that particular dress from her wardrobe, the one she had reserved for special occasions. As she draped the dress around herself in front of the mirror, a flush of thoughts colored her cheeks, and a sweet smile graced her lips.

"Aryaaaaa... Hurry up, dear! I have to drop you at the hospital and then rush for my college," Professor Sen called out. Arya emerged from her thoughts, replying, "Yes, Dad... I'll be there in just twenty minutes!"

After carefully placing her dress on the bed, she swiftly made her way into the bathroom.

While getting ready, Arya, who usually stayed away from makeup, had applied deep kohl to her eyes today. Though her cheeks were naturally flushed with the thoughts swirling in her mind today, Arya still applied a touch of light pink blush for her special day.

After returning from the medical camp after so many days, Arya's favorite 'aloo ke parathe' were prepared today. Her mother called her downstairs, worried that the parathas might turn cold, but Arya wasn't willing to rush her preparations today.

Having finished getting ready, she gazed at herself in the mirror for a while and then, with a smile adorning her face while holding the rose placed on the table, she began her way downstairs.

Joyfully descending the stairs, she noticed something in front of her—a sight that instantly vaporized her smile like mist in the air.....

[At Swastvik Hospital]

"Shrishti... Shrishti, have you seen Dr. Arya anywhere?" Prachi hurriedly approached Shrishti.

"No, Arya hasn't arrived at the hospital yet. But what's happening? Why are you so breathless?" Shrishti enquired.

"Come outside quickly!" Before Shrishti could respond, Prachi grabbed her and swiftly pulled her outside.

"Where are you taking me?" Shrishti asked, puzzled. Prachi pointed outside, excitement gleaming in her eyes, "Look there!"

Prachi's eyes shimmered with excitement as she gestured towards something outside, leaving Shrishti curious about what she was about to witness.

Outside, a sleek, black shimmering car stood imposingly, with Drishya Mittal positioned in front. His presence exuded an air of anticipation, as if he were awaiting someone's arrival.

"The Vice President of AD company!"

"It's definitely Arya he's waiting for," Prachi couldn't contain her excitement; her eyelids hardly blinked. "Dr. Arya is so incredibly lucky."

Seeing Drishya, Shrishti hurriedly made her way towards him, "Mr. Mittal, it's you!"

"Yes, I was actually here to meet Dr. Arya," Drishya replied with a smile.

"Ohh..." Shrishti glanced around, lips pursed, "Arya hasn't arrived yet. Do you need her address?"

Drishya chuckled softly, "Thank you."

As soon as Drishya left after obtaining Arya's address, Prachi swiftly approached Shrishti and began inquiring, "What did he say?"

"He came to meet Arya," replied Shrishti.

"See...see, I told you!" Prachi exclaimed with excitement. "Dr. Arya is really so lucky!"

"Hmm... I wonder when we'll meet our dream prince," Shrishti sighed wistfully as she watched Drishya's car drive away.

Drishya's car came to a halt outside Arya's house and from within it, Drishya stepped out holding a bouquet of flowers.

The straight rays of the afternoon sun fell directly on his brown eyes, bathing them in warmth and making them shine, while his cheeks were slowly turning rosy. As he walked towards Arya's doorstep, his footsteps seemed to quicken in pace, mirroring the increasing tempo of his heartbeats.

He rang the doorbell, but there was no answer. After a brief pause, he rang it again, but still, there was no response. Thinking that perhaps nobody was home, he turned away with a disappointed expression. As he was about to leave, he realized the door wasn't locked; it was slightly ajar.

Slowly pushing the door open, he called out softly, "Arya... Arya," but there was no reply. He tried calling Arya, but the ringing tone echoed from within Arya's house.

Gripped by anxiety, he hurried inside, calling out louder, but there was no one. The dining table was set with a cold breakfast. His spine tingled when he noticed large bloodstains near the scattered rose petals on the stairs, tears welling up in his eyes, sensing an ominous sign of something dreadful.
