Car Accident
Gabrielle's phone rang while she was in the middle of talking to her client.
Beatrice
Gab, this is Beatrice. We are here at the hospital now. Avery... was involved in a serious car accident.
Gabrielle
What do you want me to do?
Beatrice
Come here now, she is looking for you.
Gabrielle
Why is she still looking for me when you're already there, aren't you?
Beatrice
I'm not kidding, Gab. Lucas is...
Gabrielle's expression changed when she heard Lucas' name and the way Beatrice's tone changed when she mentioned Gabrielle's son's name.
Gabrielle
What happened to Lucas?
When Beatrice said the address, Gabrielle immediately said goodbye to her client after selling the painting and drove to the hospital where Avery and Lucas were.
Beatrice
Avery and Lucas came back here together and Ruby and I were supposed to fly next week, but the hospital called me saying that a truck crashed into Avery's car the next day they landed. When Avery and Lucas were rushed to the hospital, Lucas was almost announced dead on arrival.
Beatrice
The right side of his brain had been severely bruised, and he is in a comatose state and the doctor does not yet know when he will wake up.
Gabrielle seemed to lose her breath when she heard that Lucas was in a coma. His mouth was closed, and he lost the ability to speak.
Beatrice
His body was full of wounds, bleeding, and he was almost dead when he got here. His attending physician said, Lucas was able to speak before he was moved from the bed.
Beatrice
He was looking for you.
Gabrielle's tears suddenly flowed when she heard that her name was the last thing her son mentioned before he lost consciousness.
Gabrielle
How about Avery?
Beatrice
She suffered worse in the accident. The doctor even wondered why Lucas was more affected by the accident instead of Avery.
Gabrielle
Why is she looking for me?
Beatrice
You won't like my answer.
Gabrielle
Just freaking tell me, Beatrice!
Beatrice
She can no longer recall information stored in her memory. She can no longer remember me.
Beatrice
All she remembers is you and the kids, but she has forgotten who I am in her life after you guys broke up.
Gabrielle
You mean she only remembers things that happened three years ago?
They both remained silent because they were busy thinking about what might happen to Avery or Lucas.
Gabrielle
What are you doing here? Why did you come back?
Beatrice
Lucas and Ruby always ask Avery to see you again after they see their faces in the painting you made. They remembered you because of the painting you made.
Gabrielle
The one I posted on social media? How did they see? Do they have their own gadgets?
Gabrielle's eyebrows met in surprise as to why Beatrice had shown the photo of the painting to Lucas and Ruby.
Gabrielle
Why did Avery and Lucas come here first?
Beatrice
Because Lucas was excited to see you but Ruby, she still had to see her doctor.
Gabrielle
What happened to her?
Beatrice
She has asthma. She had an asthma attack when we were about to go on board, so we both had to get off the plane leaving Lucas and Avery inside.
The nurse suddenly called them because Avery was looking for someone again so they immediately entered Avery's room.
Avery
Hon, good thing you're here. Why am I here?
Beatrice elbowed Gabrielle a second time, who just stared at Avery with a mix of nervousness and fear.
Gabrielle
H-How are you feeling?
Avery
I'm feeling great. Thank you for asking.
Beatrice
Tell her, Gab *whispered*
Gabrielle sat up a little and looked closely at Avery while Avery's hand rested on top of hers.
Gabrielle
Ave, you have an amnesia.
Beatrice lightly kicked Gabrielle.
Gabrielle
What?! *whispered*
Beatrice
Don't tell her name, call her the way you call each other. *whispered*
Avery
What amnesia? What happened to me?
Beatrice
Uh... You got into an accident.
Avery
Oh! Yesterday! Duke's birthday party. I hit the tree near his house. Tanya was so drunk, and then she pushed me while I was driving.
Gabrielle
That was five years ago. *whispered*
Beatrice
Let her be. *whispered*
Gabrielle
Hon, can Beatrice and I go out for a while? We just had something to talk about.
Avery
That's a miracle. You two don't fight anymore?
Beatrice
Still enemies. I'll just wrestle with her outside. Promise, I will return her to you with no missing internal organs.
They both went out immediately. Gabrielle leaned against the cold wall as she stared at the ceiling, unsure of what to do.
Gabrielle
How did you manage to call me after what happened to the both of us?
Beatrice
Because I realized that I was wrong.
Beatrice
When Brianna found out about your divorce, she called Avery, she explained everything that happened the day I saw you kissing.
Gabrielle
Did you even admit to yourself that you are an idiot?
Gabrielle
You are the reason why we broke up and I still haven't forgiven you.
Beatrice
I understand. I realized that what I thought was wrong, and so as Avery who also made a mistake in believing me, so she agreed with the children to bring them to you.
Gabrielle
Three years, Beatrice. I waited three years for the two of you to take back everything you told me.
Beatrice
I took advantage of the day I saw you with Brianna to get Avery from you, so I didn't choose to believe you but as time went on, I learned that you are the only one who can really handle Avery and the children.
Beatrice
So I went with them to personally apologize to you.
Beatrice
But I won't say sorry to you, instead, I'll just give Avery back to you, and you can do the things you want to do with each other again.
Gabrielle
Why? What's up with you and Avery?
Beatrice
I asked her if I could be her girlfriend after a few months when you broke up. She tried putting herself in a relationship with me for a year, but she couldn't really handle it and I think it's because of you.
Gabrielle
You mean you're not only her best friend but automatically, her ex-girlfriend. Bravo, Beatrice!
Beatrice
Just forget it. I moved on.
Gabrielle
And I haven't. What if I don't love her anymore after the three years I waited?
Beatrice
You have to love her again. She came back here for you. They came back for you. Remember, the kids loves you very much that they came back for you which is the reason Avery was put in danger along with Lucas who's in coma. If you just leave them because you don't love her anymore, I will kill you.
Gabrielle
I feel so threatened, Beatrice. Thank you very much.
