Chapter 1: Trapped
Author: This story completely belongs to me, so don't try to steal it. Happy Reading! ❤️
Laughter could be heard as I listened to the conversation between my father and my fiancée.
William
I'm pleased that you accepted me as your soon-to-be son-in-law.
William
I couldn't be happier now that I'm about to marry your daughter.
My father chuckled, seemingly delighted by the prospect of this engagement.
Mr. Richard Salazar
This engagement is the biggest blessing I have ever received, and you two are literally perfect together.
My father replied, further fueling the disgust bubbling inside me.
I sat there, feeling like a lifeless doll, unable to find the courage to voice my true feelings about this arrangement.
They were discussing my life as if I were just a pawn in their game, with no regard for my feelings.
As I stared blankly at the wall, William suddenly took my hand in his, and his lips brushed against it, sending a shiver down my spine.
I bit my inner lip, desperate to hide the revulsion I felt, and swiftly withdrew my hand from his grasp.
This engagement wasn't of my choosing. My parents had arranged this union, and I had no say in the matter.
The burden of my parent's expectations loomed over me, leaving me with no choice but to endure and lead the life of a docile and obedient wife to a man I barely knew.
Despite being part of the richest family in the country, they still had the audacity to marry me off to a man I held no love for.
William's power and influence were undeniable, but they did nothing to ease the growing anxiety I felt around him.
It wasn't that William lacked any qualities.
His name carried weight and recognition among the elite as he is one of the most well-known self-made billionaire in the country, making him an attractive prospect for anyone seeking social status and security.
At first glance, it was easy to see why he captured the admiration of others. With a commanding presence and a charisma that seemed to radiate effortlessly, he had an ability to draw people in.
However, deep down, I sensed something troubling about William that others might not have noticed. It felt like there was more to him beneath the surface than what he showed on the outside.
His charm seemed like a disguise, hiding an unsettling aura that made me feel uneasy. Whenever he was near, I couldn't shake the feeling that this marriage might not be the right choice for me.
William
Are you okay, love?
William's voice brought me back to the present, and I felt his fingers caressing my cheek.
The touch left me uneasy, and I desperately wanted to be anywhere but beside him.
I wanted to run, to hide, but I feared that no matter where I went, he would find me like a predator hunting its prey.
Rebecca
Can I go to the bathroom for a moment? I'll be right back.
Rushing to the bathroom, I couldn't hold back the tears any longer.
I felt suffocated, like my parents were selling me off to the highest bidder.
I felt weak and vulnerable, trapped in a life I never wanted.
I yearned to break free from this engagement, but the fear of the consequences kept me rooted in place, paralyzed by the potential harm he might inflict if I resisted.
My heart cried out for freedom, but in this world of privilege and power, my voice felt unheard.
