dangerous deal
The address took Colleen to a large but old building filled with rental office spaces.
Colleen open the door to one of the rooms it's dark and grim, but unexpectedly clean.
A young man is sitting on an armchair in front of a coffee table, his legs crossed. He seemes to be playing chess, but there is no one else in the room.
His sharp eyes narrow at Colleen and an intrigued smile is plastered on his face.
Colleen Campbell
(He's unexpectedly young... He can't be any much older than I am...)
Colleen Campbell
Are you Vis?
Vis
It Depends on why you're here.
Colleen Campbell
I have some questions. A friend told me about you.
Vis
Ahh... So this is a business matter. Come take a seat. 😊
Colleen sit across Vis and she look curiously at the chess board.
Vis
Is something the Matter?
Colleen Campbell
No, there's no problem.
Colleen Campbell
I'm looking for someone and i want you to help me find him.
Colleen Campbell
I'm aware that you don't work for free and I'm prepared to pay you with what little I have.
The man's small smile widens a little. He peers at Colleen with his glinting eyes.
Colleen Campbell
(I can't tell what he's thinking...)
Vis
You're straight forward. I like it.
Vis
Some of my guests tend to beat around the bush for a while that i get tired of dealing with them.
Vis
Seems like you're worth talking to.
Colleen Campbell
( Good... It looks like he's willing to listen to what i have to say.)
Colleen tell the man the entire story about her brother's disappearance.
Colleen expects him to take notes, but all the while he only seems to be looking at her while his fingers on the armchair.
Colleen Campbell
... And that's what it is... I need your help. I really need to find him.
Vis
Well, i believe we can do something about that.
Vis
I've written the estimates for my fee, if you can just take a look.
He hands her a slip of paper. Colleen take a look at he sum and almost choke on her own tongue.
Colleen Campbell
Wha??? This much?
Vis
Disappearance are complex, for one thing, there isn't even an assurance wether he lives or not.
Colleen Campbell
My brother is alive!
Vis
But that is only your heart telling you that, isn't it? What I require is facts.
Vis
If you're unable to afford that fee, then you are free to leave.
Vis
I would also like to request you not to reveal the whereabouts of this office. I rather like this place.
Colleen Campbell
No. I'm not leaving.
Colleen Campbell
You're the best bet I have. There's has to be something i can do!
Colleen Campbell
I can be your secretary! Or I can clean for you. I'll do anything!
Vis
Anything... That is a risky word to come out a young lady's mout.
Vis
Are you sure you're willing to do... Anything?
Vis
I jest, I have no interest whatsoever in what physique has to offer.
Colleen Campbell
(is he saying I'm not his type...?)
Vis
Hmm... But there is one thing you can do for me. If you can do this, I'll do the job for you.
Colleen Campbell
I'll do it!
Vis
I admire your dedication. Here, take this slip of paper.
Colleen Campbell
A train schedule?
Vis
Three days from now at six in the afternoon, the Shirley temple will depart and head to the city of Alisaz.
Vis
I want you to take this package with you and board that train.
Colleen Campbell
... Is that all?
Colleen Campbell
But... all i have to do is carry this with me and head back?
Colleen lift the package up. It seems to be some kind of box wrapped in cloth. Inside, she could feel the contents sloshing about.
Vis smiles at her mysteriously, resting his chin on his hand.
Vis
you'll understand eventually when you get on that train.
