"But seriously why will some boys choose to kiss the same chest flattened guy like them when there are hundreds of big chest girls to choose from in the whole school?"
Connor asked, supposedly trying to joke at the two guys who were kissing eachother a few feet away from us. I sighed as I stood up walking towards the island where the drinks were placed. Not done with the one in my hand just trying to find excuse to move away from where he was before I will say or do something I won't be able to prevent myself from stopping.
"Don't be annoyed Pax, you know that's how he used to be." I heard Jay's voice as I turned to him to see him standing with my friend, Dixon. I dart my eye away from them towards Connor who was sprewing out whatever his bigoted brain has to offer without stopping to think how hateful and hurtful does words can be some–all the times while some few idiots who are obviously sucking up to him obviously because of what he needed to offer laugh at whatever shit he was talking about.
"I really wish my mom's boyfriend is not home, we wouldn't have come here at all." Dixon said also looking towards Connor.
Jay, the birthday boy whose birthday party was supposed to hold at his house had relayed the bad news that his parents are back from their trips and they would not allow him to hold the type of party he wanted to have for his eighteenth birthday party, that is the type that is adult rated with lots of drugs, alcohol and obviously the mature theme part.
I don't do drug but I was also down for the latter's that I had agreed to come over here to Connor's when Dixon had told Jay he can't hold the party in his house also because his mom's boyfriend is home, forgetting how much of an asshole he could be.
Connor had offer his house for the party to hold when he had heard our discussion earlier in the locker room and Jay had accepted it since he had no other choice.
I am not really close with him except the fa t that we are in the same basketball team but that doesn't stop me from knowing the type of guy he was. I dislike the way he just couldn't accept things the way they were, he is known for always trying hateful ways at the lgbtq+ community and always says he was just joking about it. Even though they all feel uncomfortable by his attitude, no one ever said anything to his face just because he was this rich guy that has the ability to bring everyone together just with the sway of his money, well his parents money.
"Hey everyone, it's a birthday party not church service, can you all try to make it lively by being all gay and all. I mean be gay but don't be gay though." Connor stood up increasing the volume of the stereo and he drinks from his cup laughing at whatever nonsense he said just now meant.
I sighed as I turned away from him already losing the vibe to party for the rest of the evening. "I will stay around for a while and leave. Sorry I won't be able to stay for too long."
"It's okay. Thanks for coming to my party...well that's if I can call it mine." Jay replied with a somewhat nervous smile. It's his own birthday party and he doesn't feel comfortable with it. What a way for someone to celebrate ones eighteenth birthday party. I would have preferred whatever normal birthday party his parents wants him to have a hundred times to this.
The music stops abruptly earning a yell from Connor as we all turned to the scene. "What the **** do you think you are doing bruh?" He was talking to a girl about six inches shorter than him, who seemed to have stopped the music.
"Can you please take your party somewhere else or atleast lower the volume? I and my friends are trying to study." The girl said looking up at him.
"You must be really sick in the head if you think I will stop the party just because you wanted me to. The last time I checked no one said I can't hold a party in here"
"The last time I also checked I live in this house Connor. Can you please just be humane for once and let me have peace while studying with my friends?" The girl I supposed was his sister replied getting annoyed.
I thought he was the only child, never heard him talked about his sibling before.
"Is that his sister? Had no idea he had one." Dixon said making me feel better I wasn't the only one who thought of that.
"Twin sister actually." Jay replied as I turned to him in surprise. "Twin?"
He nods, "Weird right? They were both twins yet can't stand eachother's presence."
"..." I watched as Connor turned back on the stereo while she turned it off again. "I said I want to study! Are you deaf!! If you don't feel the need to study in your free time. Atleast don't make thinks difficult for people that wanted to do that."
"Oh now she is trying to lecture me on what to do with my free time." Everyone's full concentration was on them. I was almost starting to forget this was meant to be a birthday party in the first place.
"I guess I really am not destined to celebrate my birthday this year." Jay said with a pout as I chuckles sipping my drinks as I watched the scenes.
Connor made to turned on the music while his sister stood in front of him. He pushed her to the side. "Get the **** away from me you ******* idiot!"
The girl stumbled, almost falling as a cute tall brown skin guy rushed towards her holding her before she will fall as he turned to connor. "What's wrong with you Connor? Can't you atleast be reasonable for once?"
"Oh, and here comes one of her dogs. Please don't bite me, I don't think I am ready to treat a rabies wound from a brown skin breed. Who knows how deadly it might seems." Connor said feigning to be scared.
Okay, I am done. What the **** is wrong with him? Does he have to be such a ******* homophobic and racist at the same time?
I placed my cup down on the island as I walked towards them. "Can you just stop all this scene Connor, we can as well just lower the volume, I think that will allow them to have a little bit of opportunity to study."
"Never. No way I am allowing that. She can as well go to hell for all I care."
"They."
I was about arguing with Connor again when the boy said in a low voice. "The pronoun is they, how many time do you want to be told that?" He said again charging at Connor while the girl pulled him back.
"It's okay Tobi, let's just leave."
Now I feel bad. I had been using the wrong pronoun all along. And the fact that connor was knowingly disregarding this made me more annoyed than I was supposed to.
Connor scoffs, "They? Are we still on this topic? How many people is she? Ten? Five? What the **** is they? Can y'all just suck it up and believe nothing like that exist and stop behaving like a goddamn sicko for once who was just trying to gain attention."
I could count about three to five people who used the same pronoun as Connor's sister in the room and hearing Connor says this annoys me more than I can imagine. I made to react when I felt someone held my hand. It was Dixon. He shakes his head trying to tell me not to do anything.
"**** you!" The sister spat as they rush back upstairs, probably to their room while their friends follows behind as Connor turned back on the stereo. "Don't mind that little drama fellas, let's party!"
"I am leaving." I jerked my hand away from Dixon as I walked back to the island to pick up my stuffs. I noticed some of the students here for the party leaving too. I don't blame them though. It's just sad none of them is ready to stand up for themselves and let him know how much of a bastard he was.
"You are leaving." Jay asked standing beside me as I picked up my bag. " I am sorry. I just don't think I can stay a minute here any longer without throwing him a punch on his damn face."
"I totally understood you. I wish I haven't agreed to have my party at his place. Now I had also lose the vibe too."
I gave him a sad yet reassuring smile as I picked up my bag.
"Next year will be better." Dixon said as he smile.
"We can always celebrate your birthday again some other days." I added.
"Yeah, and I made a mental note already not to invite him when that day comes." Jay replied.
"Happy birthday bro."
"Thank you."
"I will take my leave now." Jay nods giving me a pat on my shoulder.
"And here I was about asking where the last of them was almost forgetting he is the hermit among the three of them. The almighty Xavier who believes he was so high and mighty to talk to just anyone"
I sighed on hearing Connor yelled over the music making everyone to hear him. I wondered what he was getting at again as I turned to him. He was facing the stairwell direction as we all turned towards it.
And there he was, his face darkened with somewhat annoyed gaze and his grip on his school bag as he walks down the stairs with his friends. Now I understood why Connor's sister had said friends instead of friend. He was the s they were referring to.
✿
The fact that he had chosen to correct Connor on his wrong use of pronoun instead of getting annoyed about the false accusations he had made about the three of them being in a relationship surprises me.
The way he had stood his ground when he said all that, he doesn't even blinked once when Connor made to hit. I couldn't help but smirked by his unfazed gesture. This was the first time someone had stood their group when confronting Connor and with the look of annoyance on Connor's face, it proves that he had done a good job.
The boy wrapped his hand around Connor's sister shoulder as they all walked out of the house.
"Isn't that our team assistant manager? Never knew he was close friend of Connor's sister"
"Yeah" I replied nodding at Jay's question while Dixon gave me the look. "I thought you said you don't know him earlier."
Well, I was just as surprised as you. This was my first day of noticing who he was yet I recognized him right away on sighting him. "I am surprised too. I recognized him." I replied.
"What are you guys talking about? You recognized who?" I groaned mentally on hearing Connor's voice. What was I still doing here anyway?
"Oh, we are just talking about how Paxton recognized the team assistant manager."
I and Dixon shot Jay a death glare at what he just said. Does he have to reply him? He seems to realised his mistake as he gaze us an apologetic look.
"Paxton is interested in him or what?"
"I am not." I replied, already getting annoyed about wherever the conversation is going.
"Sorry to burst your ego bro but you can never get him. That boy is known for being asocial and not wanting to have anything to do with anyone except those two freaks he always sticks around with."
He just called his sister and their friends freaks for the thrift time today and I am losing it already. "Okay." I replied, uninterested.
"I heard he turned down a love confession by one of the most beautiful cheerleader last year. What's so special about him though that the girls are rushing to him." Connor said again as I groan. Can't he just shut up?
"Yeah, I heard your girlfriend broke up with you too just to ask him out and he got rejected." Dixon replied him as I almost laughed. Where was I when all those happened? I never heard of all these until now.
"Nothing special about it. Not like you can ask him out to and he will accept." Connor said turning to me.
How does his ex getting rejected ny the boy have to do with me? "Oh. Doesn't look like that."
"How about a little game, for you?" Connor said with a smirk as I frown. "No."
I don't care whatever game he is about to play. I need no one to tell me it's going to be a stupid idea.
"Oh, come on. Are you backing off before you even hear it. Don't be a coward"
I hates his use of words, they kind of gets me on the edge sometimes.
"And what could it be?"
"Just a little bet. How about you ask the boy out. Let see if he will suck up to you and accept to sleep with you."
I looked at him like he had grew to head. Seriously? What the **** is inside that his head that makes him sprew out all those nonsense actually. "No" I deadpanned as I made to leave.
"Why? Trying to be a coward and losing defeat already."
"I am not a coward, I am just not betting on anyone. I can sleep with anyone I want and I don't need to net to do that."
"Then make him sleep with you. I actually see you as someone who believes he could get all what he wants with the tip of his fingers. How about you try this and let's see if you could get him like the test of the other assholes you **** with."
"I am leaving." I said pushing him away from my front slightly as I made to leave.
"Get accept defeat and know you are just a coward who can't live up to what people say about him
" Connor yelled after me as I stopped walking back to him.
"I, I am not a coward. And I can get anyone to sleep with me anytime I want." I said again firmly. I don't know why his words are getting to me. I know the type of person he was yet it annoys me greatly hearing him says this about me.
"Then make him sleep with you."
"And what's your deal with a this? Why are you so obsessed with me sleeping with him?"
He shrugs, "well just because it's fun."
"Then I am not interested." I turned to leave.
"Five hundred bucks."
I stopped as I turned back to him. "What?"
"A thousand?"
"Who do you think I am?"
"Three thousand to make him have sex with you."
"Are you serious right now?" And why the heck will he want to pay that huge amount just to make me have sex with a friend of his sister. What the **** is wrong with him? "No." I replied turning to leave again.
"Five thousand bucks. Take it or leave it."
Five thousand dollars to sleep with a guy? I froze as I turned back to him.
"Really?"
"Take it or leave it" he replied with a smile.
"Deal. Have a great fun at your party Connor." I turned to him to reply before walking out of the huge mansion feeling a heavy weight rising up in my stomach making me wondered if accepting the bet was a great idea after all.
