I had followed Blake back to their house. We had this routine we follow anytime test or exam approaches. We create time two days a week to have a group reading at eachother's house. And it was Blake's house today.
Tobi had texted he will meet us there. He wasn't in school today because his mom was sick and no one to help with the shop since he was the only child of his family. His dad works outside of the city so he had no choice to stay back and be with her.
We had arrived at their house to meet it so quiet meaning their brother is not home. Being the fact that they and their brother are the only one who stays alone in the house with their parents somewhere, anywhere, probably basking in the essence of their wealth. They were never home, I could actually count the number of times I had seen their parents in the last two years. Even though Blake never complains, I couldn't help but noticed how much they long for their parents presence sometimes.
"You can go to my room first. I will get us some fruits and snacks we can feast on while reading." Blake said stretching their bag to me. "Help me with it upstairs." I nodded my head collecting the bag as I walked up the staircase to their room.
Blake's room is something I will describe as wonderland with it having the mixture of both gothic and bright pastel style. The bed being a dark color with a print of a skeleton head which apparently was smoking embedded all over the bedsheets. The room was painted in a mixture of pastel pink and light blue and the wallpapers pasted on it ranging from pictures of some disney princess, I recognized the Tinkerbell and Ariel though to some old rock bands pictures, I recognize the Nirvana's own and other dark and light aesthetics.
I guess this was why I do call their room wonderland since I can seem to understand why they did decided to juggled up two opposite themes together. They kind of seem a bit aesthetic at a side but to me, it's seems really strange and weird to me.
But who am I to judge?
I dropped Blake's bag on the study table in their room as I went to sit down on the bed bringing out my books and pen getting ready for the study session.
The door to the room opens revealing Blake and Tobi. The first having two large bags of doritos and lays in their hand while the latter is holding a plate of sliced apples and bottle water.
I think I forgot to state the fact that we all can't read without having something to snack on. I guess this is what keeps us from getting distracted or starts talking to eachother when reading.
"Sup bro" Tobi said as he drops the bottle water on the bed before bumping fist with me. "Hi, how is auntie's health?"
"She is good. Was sleeping when I left for here." I nod as I cleared the bed for Blake to sit down. We all began studying in no time.

We barely studied for two hours when the sound of the sudden music blasting from downstairs caught our attention as we looked up almost at the same time. We could hear loud voices of several other people too.
We don't need to guess before we know who it was.
Connor. He is Blake's twin brother. And they are the first set of twins I had seen in my entire seventeen years of life that hated eachother's to the gut. They both can't stand the sight of eachother for barely a minute without throwing insults or sometimes curse at each other. I had no idea how they ended up being this way with eachother but ever since I know Blake, they had been like that with their brother.
I and Tobi once asked them about it though and they had said their brother is an asshole who shouldn't have existed in this world as he was one of the people who made it seems worst.
Blake groaned loudly seething with annoyance as they stood up from the bed putting on their slip on. "Is he crazy? What the **** is even wrong with him?"
Blake cursed as they stormed out of the room probably to eat their brother's head out. Tobi chuckles as he also rushed out of the after them obviously to go and witness the fight between the two siblings as he also found it surprising how those twins could hate themselves so much.
I sighed as clicked my tongue against my upper teeth resting my head against the piles of pillows on the bed. Knowing what the starts of the music meant. Party. Which means lots of people will be downstairs already, and lots of people, I hate being around them.
I was in no mood to leave the comfort of the room to go witness whatever was about to unfold downstairs.
I heard the music been turned off and on for about three four times before the door to the room was barged opened again. Revealing my two friends that had left about five minutes ago earlier.
"What's wrong?" I asked noticed the hurt looks on Blake. They felt like they were about to cry.
"Let's get out of here." They mubbles as they starts packing up their books shoving them into their school bag.
"Yeah, we can go to my place or yours." Tobi added as I sat up. Not wanting to ask any questions regarding the situation, I stood up from the bed as I packed up my books too.
All of us walking out of the room downstairs.
"And here I was about asking where the last of them was almost forgetting he is the hermit among the three of them. The almighty Xavier who believes he was so high enough to talk to just anyone" Connor said in a singsong tone raising up his arms in an introductory manners as we walked down the stairs.
"What a bunch of freaks!" He added as I saw Tobi tightened his fist trying his best to ignore him as we all walked towards the door. He was obviously angry but I wasn't fazed though.
This wasn't the first time he had said such demeaning and hateful words towards me, Tobi and his sister. He apparently just hates the fact that we three are friends and I had no idea why.
"She is probably sucking their dicks off or something. Maybe the twink also is sucking the hermit off too or something." He yelled after us as I froze on my spot.
Not only was he disrespecting his sister's pronoun, he was making false claim about us when the majority of the people in the room were from the school. Him saying something like this so nonchalantly not fearing it might arise some fake rumors about me and my friends really annoyed me.
I turned towards him, looking right at the people in the room for the first time. Just the regular bunch of hormonal kids who were smoking and grinding against eachother while some who seems to be interested in what's going on pays full attention to us. I tore my gaze away from them back to him. He had this amused look on his face I was tear away with loads of punch.
"Oh my, did I struck a nerve or something? Were you really dicking her and the burnt twink?" Connor asked laughing all alone to his gut wrecking comments others not finding what he said funny as they all looked seems a little bit too uncomfortable with the situation which kind of make me feel a bit better knowing not everyone is sick in the head like him.
"They"
"What?" Connor asked a bit confused before realising what I meant as he scoffs puffing from the small shisha pipe in his hand before working towards me. "Are you also about to teach me what pronouns are? Like I was born today or something" He said making me figured Tobi probably also tried to correct him earlier when they had came downstairs.
"They, them. I don't think you understood those pronouns well actually, because if you do, you would have used them appropriately. Maybe you were born today after all."
My comments seems to annoyed him more when few of the students here for the party laughs at my replied.
Connor seethed with anger as he made to hit me but stops when he saw how unmoved I was with his actions. He is obviously taller than me but that doesn't mean I was short. I am on the leaner side to him also still a bit muscular. And him noticing how ready I was for the moment he knew I wasn't going to back down off if he dares to hit me. I might had well make his face bloody like I had always wanted to.
"You know what? **** you! I don't even know why I was wasting my time on you anyway. You don't deserve my time at all." He said as he backed off walking away from me.
I may be socially awkward but that doesn't mean I can't talk when I needed to and that also doesn't mean I can't stand up for me and my friends when necessary. I won't really call myself asocial as people do call me as I actually don't have problems talking to people, I just am not in the mood for it and I love my crowds small anyway. I hate parties like this filled with people who had nothing to think about than who to take home with them and have sex with.
I may not move with the school popular clinks but that doesn't stop me from getting any attention. Me been someone with the good looks and athletic body like some people had said, I had been asked out occasionally by different students, both gender and scouted to join teams by some of the school coaches which I had all turned down.
Maybe this is one of the reasons why Connor hated me too. Blake once told me one of his ex girlfriends had once broke things off with him to ask me out and I am sure he still harbors hatred for me because of that.
"Well then, I guess we both finally agreed on something. I didn't want to waste my precious time on someone like you too anyway." I replied as I felt someone tugged my shirt. I turned to see Blake standing beside me.
"Ignore him. Let's go." They said looking hurts as I sighed nodding before walking out of the room with my arms around her shoulder.
"Thank you. Thank you both for standing up for me." Blake said few minutes into the ride-cycling.
We were all cycling to my house. We decided to go to mine as to not disturb Tobi's mom who was just getting better.
"Sorry to say but your twin brother is one heck of a motherfucking piece of trash...if that makes sense" Tobi replied as Blake chuckles. The pain and hurt for being looked down upon by their twin brother still lacing in their eyes. They really was hurt by all what he had said but had decided to hide it behind those forced smiles.
Maybe it's because I don't have much people to pay attention to everyday. I always find ways to decipher my friends true feelings no matter how much they tried to hide it.
"Tobi is right about that though. Don't let his words affect you. He doesn't know your worth at all."
I wondered how someone will hate one of the sweetest human being on earth, like are they out of their mind or something along the line?
"And that's why I have you too. You guys are more than enough."
Wanting to change the topic on their annoying brother, I pedalled fast on my bicycle as I said a bit loudly. "The first person to reach my house gets to eat all mom's cookies."
"You cheat!" Tobi yelled
"That dessert is mine!" Blake shouted afterwards as I heard both of them pedalling fast towards me making me chuckles.
Who could ever resist the taste of mom's food though?
