Different World

"Where are we" the question that everyone asked. I looked around me and realized there were about more than 30 people and all of them looked confused and scared as ****.

"Where am I,"

"How did I get here,"

"The hell just happened,"

Everyone had questions, everyone had the same questions, everyone was starting to panic. I went over to a few of my friends to talk to them.

"Bro how did I get here, I was sitting on a chair in the doctor's office a few seconds ago," Kageyama said confused.

"I don't know, bro" I replied, "By the way have you seen Sho?" I asked.

"Yeah he is over there with Gin," Kageyama said pointing to Gin.

I went over to Sho, Sho is a big, strong, blonde, white guy, he plays baseball and he is a good friend of mine.

"Yo, what the **** is happening?" I asked Sho.

"How the hell would I know," he replied.

"Everyone is panicking," I said.

"Yeah, I know," he replied quickly.

"Hey, can you try to calm everyone down, so they don't panic themselves to death, I am gonna look around," I said.

I didn't wait for his answer, I left him and went towards the school building.

*5:00 pm*

Around this time there should still be teachers at school, grading tests, or giving some after school lessons but today no one was there. I quickly went through most of the school building and couldn't find a single person.  I walked out of the school grounds and ran to the grocery store that was about 1 kilometer away from school. The door was open, I went inside, there was no food or human-beings in the store. The store was completely empty. On my way back to school I realized the doors to most of the houses was open, I checked a few and there was no one inside. I went back to school, Sho had calmed everyone down, most people were chatting like we were on a normal field trip.

"Hey, where the hell you run off to?" Sho asked.

"I checked the school, a few houses, and the grocery store nearby and I couldn't find any people or food," I whispered to Sho.

"What's happening here?" he asked looking scared and confused.

"I don't-" I was interrupted by a sudden tornado forming behind me. In a few seconds, the tornado disappeared and a three-meter tall creature appeared. It was an undead skeleton creature, which wore an elaborate, jet black academic gown adorned with golden and violet edges. The thing was floating in the air, a few moments of hesitation and then panic broke out everyone ran in different directions away from the 'thing'. Everyone ran as far as the football pitch lines go, no one could cross the lines of the football pitch, we were trapped, we were trapped with that thing.

"Calm down all of you, calm down," The thing spoke with a loud voice that could easily be heard by everyone, but no one calmed down.

"I do not intend to hurt you," it said calmly, but still no one was calming down.

"What are you?" I yelled out to the thing which grabbed everyone's attention.

"I am known as Etherius," he replied, "and I have summoned all of you here to put you through a test."

"What kind of test," Sho asked.

"A test to see if you can kill me," Etherius replied.

"I am Etherius, the immortal demon of death, I have summoned all of you here to attempt to kill me," Etherius said, at which everyone was shocked.

"Why do we have to kill you," I asked, which seemed like a stupid question.

"You don't have to kill me but if you don't kill me I will kill you," Etherius the demon of death said.

"You have two years," Etherius continued, "you will be in this duplicate world for two years, in these two years you can try to train to kill me but on this day after two years if you don't kill me I will kill all of you, you can try to hide or run but you will not escape me".

"This world is just like the earth that you know, except there are no humans, so the wild animals roam all of this world, they have all evolved differently than the animals on the earth that you know so be careful," Etherius said, and with that, he vanished into thin air.

Everyone looked scared again. I called Sho over to me, Gin came with him. Gin was a really smart and cool minded guy so I didn't mind telling him about the plan I came up with.

"We should split everyone up into groups of six people, and let them live in the houses around the school, each group will have a certain job and they will live together in one house each," I said.

"Why do we need groups of six people?" Sho asked.

"That demon said that in this world some animals have evolved differently and since there weren't any humans here the animals aren't threatened of going into Cities, so if animal attacks a group of six people will have a better chance of defending themselves than a single person," I replied.

"How do we split people up," Gin asked.

"I have that sorted, we just need people to calm down and listen to the plan first," I said.

Sho and Gin went to work, they easily calmed and gathered everyone up, and then they told them everything, about how there was no food, the living plan in this world, jobs and more.

Gin was sent to live with all the trouble-making guys in order to keep them in control, Kageyama ended up with most of his close friends and Sho and I ended living together along with his twin sister, a close girl-friend of mine from the USA, two friends that I knew from a baseball tournament and a friend that I knew in my old school.

We went to the house right across the street from the school, it was a big house but there were only five bedrooms which meant there had to be two people in the same room. I hogged a room which had a desktop computer, Sho ended up in the same room with Sai, one of the two friends that Sho and I knew from a baseball tournament, and my friend from the USA Mel a girl ended up in the same room with Sho's sister, Urumi.

*7:30*

Sho and I gathered everyone in our house and brought them to the living room where we asked them to introduce themselves in order for everyone to get to know each other. Sho went first:

"My name is Sho Okumura, I am 16 years old, and I like baseball."

"I am Urumi Okumura, I am also 16 and I am Sho's twin sister," Urumi said.

"You don't look like twins," Sai said.

"Everyone says that," Urumi replied with a cheerful beautiful smile.

"I'll go next. I am Sai,16,  love baseball, and I know Sho and Ash," Sai said.

"I am Mel, 16 years old, I live in the US and I have no idea how I got here, I am hoping this is just a weird dream," she said.

"I think we are all hoping this is a weird dream," I replied.

"My name is Aiko, I go to the same school as Sai, and Ash and I have talked before and I am 16," she said.

"My name is Claire, I am also 16, I use to go to this school but then I moved in fourth grade, so I know some of the people here including Ash," Claire said, the girl I had a crush on.

"Yo, so I think most of you know me, I am Ash and-" I paused as I came to the realization of why they are all here "-I think you are all here because of me."

"What?" Sho asked they all looked confused.

"Look, what is the one thing you all have in common?" I asked, no one responded, "me you all have me in common, you all know me, Mel knows me because we were good friends back in the US, Sho and Urumi know me, Sai and Aiko know me and Claire knows me," I said quickly.

"So what are you trying to say?" Claire asked.

"I am the reason you are all here," I responded.

"And?" Sho questioned.

"What if, what if me not being here will get you all back home," I blurted out.

"What?" Mel asked.

OK, so basically what I am saying is what if I die and then you guys will go home," I said.

"What if" Sho repeated, making it clear that he didn't agree with me.

"If that is the case then-"

"If," Sho repeated again interrupting me, "Listen once you get rid of the 'what ifs' and 'ifs' then come back to me with that idea and I will listen," Sho said, walking away towards his room.

As much as I want to get out of here and not die I don't think we can depend on 'ifs'" Urumi said, following Sho, and then everyone followed.

"Don't worry none of you are gonna die," I said confidently.

*8:00*

I went back to my room like everyone and opened my phone. I realized we have our phones, we can call our parents, I quickly opened the contacts app and called my mom, it didn't work, I tried again, it didn't work again. In frustration, I threw the phone onto the bed. Then I ran over to the computer and opened it, luckily a password wasn't required. I quickly downloaded an online game that I used to play with my ingame friends, Realm Royal. I opened the game and joined my friends, I could hear them talk, I quickly grabbed the headphones and plugged it into the computer.

"Hey guys can you hear me," I said.

"Yeah, we hear you loud and clear," one of them responded

"Hey, have you heard in the news or anywhere about a bunch of kids being missing?" I asked.

"No, I haven't heard anything, why?" he asked.

"Because we are missing," I said, "We have been taken into a different world, by this thing and we need help."

"Bro what are you talking about...what do you mean you are missing," he asked.

"We have been taken into a different world and by this thing calling himself a demon and we need help," I repeated.

"Yo, why aren't you saying anything," he said, which made me realize that anything concerning this place we are in can not be shared with people outside of it.
