Arc 1 - Marie the Lonely - Emperor, Look At Me

"I wish you were born a boy..." Consort Lulth stared at the four-year-old child with shame and disgust. Marie's eyes began to get watery as she attempted to stare back. "Now you must fight among your sisters in order to live...while your brothers are favored and cherished for life."  the woman affirmed.

She laid on the velvet chaise, her eyes were dull and lifeless, they gazed at the sorrowful child as she sat there. "I'm sorry mommy..I'll try harder" Marie-Paule reassured her mother, still gaining no reaction.

"I even tried to name you after the Emperors most beloved Consort...who passed away, bless her soul" Lulth chuckled lightly as her hand dangled off the chaise, Marie-Paule was sitting on her knees by the window watching her mother's lazy movements.

She then looked away after the intense gaze her mother began to give her. The child tried her best to ignore the deathly stares from her mother.

"You are so useless"

Present Time

Eugené sat in his chair checking his long agenda "Visit the Burenfort Palace? Why?" His expression was deemed to be annoyed at the thought of even going over to that frozen place. The female attendant smirked "The King wants to discuss with you possible future trading routes regarding by water"

A loud apparent sound grazed against the large wooden doors.

The Emperor's icy blue eyes peered up from the paper, and he glanced at the female attendant "Open it", she nodded walking towards the door, having one hand on the sword in her belt holster.

"You're Majesty" The man entered the room and bowed shortly after being invited in, Eugene took off his gold-rimmed glasses smirking, he leaned back and gradually got up out of his large firm chair. The female attendant removed her hand from the sword holster, closing the door briefly after.

"What is your business with me, Wilfred?" He leaned against the large desk curious on what his little spy has gathered information on "The Lady Eleanora has awoken from her coma, your Majesty"

"Really? That is just fantastic.."

"Yes, it is quite a miracle, but why fantastic?"

Eugene's hand made its way to his chin as he began to speak "Her sister has been bothering me about meeting her...The problem is that the woman has amnesia,"

Wilfred adjusted his monocle "Do you plan on meeting her? I'm sure that you could inform her a-"

Eugene cut in before Wilfred could say anymore

"No worries Wilfred, she will soon fall into the same line as my other consorts" Eugene patted Wilfred's shoulder before making his way back into the chair, the female attendant had a confused expression.

("Same line as other consorts?")

["I have to get around in a wheel chair...my life is spiraling downhill like crazy"] ໒ (, ⊙ – ⊙ , )७

Marie tried pushing Eleanora in the chair, her tiny body didn't have enough strength to push her, as she was only five anyway. "M-Marie it's fine! I can use the wheels to roll myself around" Eleanora chuckled lightly at the struggling girl. ["It's temporary anyway,  the doctor said 5 hours, but she seems too excited! I cannot resist her cute face"] (≧∀≦●)/

Marie had her hands on her dress out of breath after the attempt, she pouted "Nope! I will have someone push you instead!" She looked proud with her hands now on her hips. Marie walked in front of Eleanora staring at her with her puppy dog eyes "Today has not ended, we are going to the garden hehe.."

Eleanora looked surprised "I see..." Marie then headed towards the door she skipped, it was apparent that the young girl was in a good mood "I'll be back, I'm going to find someone to push you" The woman smiled and waved goodbye to the girl.

The door closed and silence enveloped the room, Eleanora was alone. She started to gaze at all the little objects in Maire's room, not many toys, or any special items. The room seemed elegant to many, but compared to others it lacks life.

Eleanora smiled "Everything really is different huh,"

"Adding to the fact that my death is seven years from now...but everything is completely different from the past" Eleanoras smile faded, she stared at her hands.

"If I had only realized then that everyone was hurting just as bad as I was...it could've been different"

She sighed, her hair fell over her shoulders, it got longer in the past month ever since she was in that coma. "I wonder how Elise is doing? She must be angry at me even more now...way to go Eleanora" Eleanora playfully bonked herself on the head. Her hand gradually fell onto her lap and she sighed once more.

The door opened revealing the Emperor and the female attendant.

Eleanoras eyes widened at the sight of the attendant,  she quickly moved her gaze to Eugene.

The woman tried her best to smile and greet the cold Emperor, as her heart is still healing "Greetings, your Majesty" Eleanora beamed, he stared at the woman unimpressed, the attendant stood still by the door glancing between the two.

Eugene's eyes then widened with surprise "You remember me?" Eleanora continued to smile "Yes your Majesty"

He walked closer to Eleanora startling her as the proximity of her personal space began to lessen. He got down on one knee examining her face for the scar she had on their first night. Eleanora's face began to flush "You're Majesty? Is there anything wrong?"

Eugene sighed and stood back up "Your sister wishes to see you, do you remember her?"

Eleanora played a confused act [" Yes I remember you doof.."]

"I think so..some memories have started to appear after my awakening"

Eugene narrowed his eyes staring at the woman, he nodded and turned his back toward her "Good, she will be coming tomorrow afternoon" He began to walk out of the room

[" He was hurting even now...yet I didn't see it.."]

Eleanora stared at his back as he continued to walk away. Her eyes then glanced at the female attendant who was watching the woman attentively.

Eleanora tried her best to not give a striking look back, as she smiled at the woman instead. The attendant scoffed and left right behind the Emperor.

Marie came in shortly after with a maid holding her hand, the woman seemed out breath. The girl was looking back as she just saw her father, but at the moment she didn't want to speak with him.

His actions seemed very suspicious this past couple of weeks when Eleanora was in a coma. He slowly started to forget about the young girl again, as she knew his favor wouldn't last long.

Eleanora scanned the maid up and down seeing if she could remember her face from her last life, surprisingly she can't seem to recognize this woman.

"Oh! Eleanora this is Fumi, I found her dusting off some pictures and stuff" Marie beamed, she was starting at Eleanors with bright eyes ready to escape to the garden.

Fumi looked terribly frightened, Eleanora chuckled, the young woman probably hasn't served a royal before, as Marie found her cleaning.

"Fumi, how old are you?" Eleanora made sure to ask with a kind tone. Marie's hand was still latched to the young woman. "I-I'm seventeen.." Her voice was soft, she made sure to not make any eye contact with the woman.

"Ahh..I see..Well, would you do me the pleasure of rolling me to the garden?"

Marie smiled happily at the teen, Fumi started to relax a bit and a light smile appeared on her face.

"Yes I shall!"
