Hange and Eren search for keys in a dark bedroom, using a mobile flashlight. Their search leads to the discovery of a wooden box hidden under the bed, which contains a pencil box.
As Eren touches the pencil box, he's suddenly flooded with memories of his past life, including the genocide he committed. Overcome with guilt and grief, Eren becomes hysterical, screaming and begging Hange to kill him.
Hange tries to calm him down, but Eren's distress escalates until Levi bursts into the room, having heard the commotion.
Levi finds Eren in a state of distress and tries to calm him down. Despite Levi's efforts, Eren eventually collapses, becoming still and lifeless.
The episode ends with Levi and Hange in a state of shock and concern, trying to understand what just happened to Eren.
